We were very satisfied with everything, except the lack of status reports between the time of order and time of installation. The father Paul is a straight-shooter, and after 30 years at least in the business, knows his stuff. I appreciated his candor and judgment. Because of the complexity of our order, he took the time to double check sizes and quantities, and as a result the windows that arrived were exactly as needed. His family crew, led by his son, arrived early on the scheduled day, and managed to do the job in less time than estimated. This included removing and reinstalling 3 window air conditioners, saving me some work. After the first day, I tested all of the windows and marked three that were hard to open. Although I was not on site the second day, they apparently fixed these windows because they worked to my satisfaction after I came home. The new windows look great, as does the trim coil around the windows, and so much more light comes into the house now.

3 sons arrived on time, were courteous and efficient. Completed the work well within the time they said it would take and left no mess. Took the time to fully go over the work with us, explain how everything worked, and checked back with us a few days later to make sure everything was still satisfactory. They were easy to work with, pleasant and 3 months on we are still very happy with the work they did.

Paul , the owner who priced the job and his wife Sue who runs the office could not have been more helpful. Paul is a real guy who knows his business, showed up on time, could speak about pro's and con's of certain types and brand of windows and was not playing any games, quotes were accurate and stuck to them. His adult sons and various family members do the installing. They showed up on time, were clean, picked up after themselves and put in 25 windows in 1 day!!! My house was left in great shape, no need to clean up after. I loved their work and the Harvey product , I would recommend (and have done so already) to anyone. Barbara B in Brighton

The job went very well! The owner of Three Son's was very helpful in discussing window options and completely understood what was needed. Like many homes built in the 90's, I had window seals that were failing and moisture between the glass panes. I also had some panes that cracked. The catch with my installation was that I had new construction windows (fastened/nailed from the front of the home) and the vinyl siding came to the edge of the windows. This meant the siding and shutters around the window had to be removed (and reinstalled) and the installation of the window had to happen from the front of the house. I had many contractors come to my home to supply estimates but some didn't respond after discussing the job, they were clearly looking for quick (in and out) jobs. Three Son's understood what was required and were willing to do the job the right way (removing the siding, etc). I would also add, Three Son's bid was very competitive. Specific to the product installed, Three Sons installed Harvey Windows. I researched options for months and in the end my main concern is support after the product install. Harvey Windows has an outstanding reputation for support after the sale, many companies do not...beware! I would also add, I'm amazed at how quiet my home is after the new windows were installed. My wife commented to me that's it's almost eerie - we can see the trees blowing around and a rain storm happening outside and can't hear a thing! Great job Three Sons!! You have earned a new customer and as many recommendations as I can supply.

I am beyond happy with the work done by Three Sons Window & Door. This is not my first project that they have done for me so I knew what to expect. They were prompt, efficient and did everything that they proposed in a timely fashion as well as a perfect clean up each day. The patio door leading out to the new deck looks beautiful and the deck it self is absolutely fabulous . I cant wait to get it ready for summer cookouts. I also had them install a new Therma-Tru front entry door with side-lites. They had to enlarge the opening to accomodate for the side-lites. Three Sons suggested this option to me, and what a difference it makes having the additional light at the entrance of my home as well as provide much needed curb appeal. I appreciate Three Sons knowledge and expertise. I am considering adding a 1/2 bath to the basement next year, and I wont hesitate to call them to do the work.

We wanted to give the roof and windows time to "settle in" before writing this review, and while it's only been a few months, I think the epic blizzardS of this past month have more than adequately tested the windows and roof. We're very, very happy with the work Three Sons did. The also came out and removed snow from the roof (for an additional fee) on short notice when we discovered ice dams were causing a leak around two windows -- at a time when none of our friends and neighbors were able to get anyone to come out to do rooftop snow removal because of service backlogs. The work was quick and efficient, with the roof done in a day and the windows done on a different day. Given concerns about lead in our older home we moved out for the duration of the window work, so we especially appreciated how quickly the team worked. Pros and Cons: the contractor we met with to plan the work was knowledgeable and professional. I was a bit surprised that he wasn't present at any point (at least that I knew of) during or after the work either day. I have no idea if this is usual or not; they seemed to trust us to know if the work was satisfactory upon completion. However, since we know nothing about roofs, we were a bit nonplussed when we noticed shingles that didn't lie flat all over the roof. We called the company, and the contractor drove out, looked at the roof, and called to let us know that it was part of the normal settling process -- we just needed a warmer day (it had been in the teens) for the roof to settle. That was reassuring, I just would have liked to see him come and double check the site after the work was done. On the bright side, the fact that everything held up so well despite our horrible winter has left me very reassured and quite happy -- we also love the look of the new windows, and cleaning them is SO easy!

Three Sons never showed up on the agreed upon date. No phone call, no email -- nothing. Such non-existent customer care gets a big "F" from me any day of the week! I took time off work so I would be home for their visit. No way I would use this company in the future. Too bad -- my home has a lot of windows that need replacing! UPDATE: In response to Three Sons posting info here claiming that they called to cancel our appointment during a "blizzard," neither of these happened. As far as the blizzard, we got 3-4 inches of snow and nobody from their office ever called me to reschedule. Ever! So, if I may paraphrase their comment: THEY DID NOT CALL AND LEAVE A MESSAGE! Oh, and as far as the blizzard comment, I had an Angie's List handyman here the same day -- he had no probs getting to/from my home so Three (Lying) Sons is just making things up to cover up their very poor customer service. I stand by my review.

We signed a contract in July, Paul said it would take 6-8 weeks to order doors. After repeated checking in, they finally began in late October. His carpenter worked mostly on Saturdays, coming for half-days after I called to ask for progress - clearly not a priority job for them. They installed the three exterior doors with no knobs or locks, leaving my house unsecured for 3 weeks, while I reminded them repeatedly that there were no locks/knobs on the exterior doors. The exterior landing/steps they built has some rotted pieces of wood, jagged nails sticking through in a couple spots, and they never completed the exterior trim around the door - inside or outside. I had to clean up a trash bag full of wood scraps, nails, pieces of plastic, and cigarette butts left scattered around the patio and driveway. After about 5 weeks of delayed work, they called asking for payment - still no locks/knobs on doors and still no trim around the new door. I gave up, subtracted $300 from their final payment, which they agreed to, and installed the knobs/locks myself. I'm waiting for the snow to melt to complete the exterior trim. This was a frustrating job, and I had to clean up after them, as well as finish the job myself. I like to hire companies from my town whenever possible, but I wouldn't hire them again.

From start to finish, we were very happy with Three Sons. My first call was answered promptly and professionally, by Susan, Paul's wife and I'm pretty sure the person who keeps it all running smoothly. Paul (the owner) was able to come to my house in a reasonable amount of time and called when he had to change the date. It was clear to me that Paul is an expert in his field and was able to give me an pretty accurate cost estimate on the spot, followed by a detailed proposal that we revised a few times as the scope of the project increased (my choice). His price was in the middle of a few quotes that we received and but it was his references that really set him apart - all enthusiastically endorsed his work. When it came time to install the windows, I was amazed at how quickly and cleanly they were installed - even with all the removal and cutting, they left the house clean! and the windows look great! Not only was Paul great to work with, but each person on his team (many are family members) were equally caring and professional. I would hire Paul again without question and would refer him to friends without hesitation. Thank you Angie's list! George

I do want to thank Three Sons because they are the reason I signed up with Angie's List. I've been very happy with the information I can obtain on here. Anyway, I heard good things about them through word of mouth so I contacted the office. I was calling for my mother who needed a new patio door. I asked the woman I spoke with if they handle smaller jobs such as replacing a door. She said they did and would get back to me. A day or two went by and I received a text message at 7:40pm Nov. 11th with a price to replace the door. I actually thought it was a very fair price. A little odd it came via text message at night, but didn't bother me. The message also requested an email to send the quote to. I provided my mother's email Wed. Nov. 12th. Got a response that Friday night via text at 8:18pm stating the quote would be sent out tomorrow...again strange. An itemized quote did come and I sent a text to this mysterious number "when can we start?" I was given a date for Paul to come out and measure. Mind you all this conversation is thru text message. I standby at my mother's house for about 45 minutes before I send a text and leave a voice message asking if anyone is coming. I get a response that an email was sent to me the previous night saying Paul couldn't make it (it was a legitimate reason but I don't want to put Paul's personal business on here). Also it was partially my fault that I provided my mother's email for the quote but we had been talking thru text for a week and then they sent an email at 9pm the night before the appointment. Guess I was expecting another text. Either way they have not gotten back to me to reschedule and I've moved on. Sounds like Paul is the only person available to come out.

Three sons provided solid consulting and an estimate withing 24 hours; we discussed details and they adjusted to meet my tight budget. The team arrived set up quickly and worked diligently from 9 to 3PM. they used tarps to cover the floor near each window and took extra precaution because my floors and paint were recently refinished. At the conclusion: the window frames were crisp and clean with no scuff marks the team scanned the surrounding area to make sure there was no refuse on the property the floors were cleaned the windows look stellar this is the second time hiring Three Sons and i recommend them whenever the topic arises- and occasionally when it doesn't

Excellent........... We had several quotes for this job, theirs fell in the middle. Very low key, not pushy. When the job started my wife was very happy that we picked this company. Gave them a key to the house, to use the bathroom, and access to the cellar. When they found the water rotted sill, they were quick fix it and continue the job. They gave additional options for window trim, we told them to treat this as there own home, we were that comfortable with there suggestions. Neighbors stop by the house and comment how nice the house now looks.

The finished product looks very good. Despite delays and obstacles, Paul came through and finished it with a very, very nice job. Through other renovation work I’ve done in past few years, I’ve had to work with about 60 different contractors. Paul, is much easier to talk to than other contractors, and he has a good crew who are very polite, contientious and skilled.

I originally received a quote from Paul and three other bidders to install vinyl siding and trim on the house. His price was comparable to the other low bidder but I sensed he appreciated the fine details that goes into integrating of all of the components better then the others bidders. We then put the project on hold to consider an addition. After consulting an architect and a few other design-build contractors I reached out to Paul to price the addition. We were obviously looking for an affordable price to complete the work but most importantly needed the work to be completed on schedule due to the arrival of our second child. Paul's price was better than the design-build contractors and although the schedule was a few weeks longer it was still scheduled to be completed before our due date. Overall the experience with Paul and his team was exceptional. They followed through on changes, including significant scope creep (a new deck), and responded to concerns (which were very few) in a timely manner. The crews were professional and polite - important with a 3-1/2 year old and a third trimester pregnant women in the house! The subcontractors Paul brought on board were also great to work with. Our family is thrilled with the result of the project, our neighborhood thanks us on an almost daily basis for cleaning up the eyesore on the corner, and most importantly our daughter was born one day after the project was completed and the site cleared of all residual construction debris. She was eager to see the end product and came early!

They had to come out and do the installation a second time. I reviewed their work after the first time and found a lot of gaps and the weatherization silicon has started turning black and yellow. I don't think that this job should have had to be done twice. The windows and doors looked good cosmetically but functionally they fell very short.

Fine work was done. 6 of the windows were oversized and on a bow front. What a great job inside and outside.

We contacted three sons to install two large windows. One window was replacing a smaller window in a bedroom. The other window was in the dining area where there was no window previously. I fully expected them to just cut an appropriate sized hole and frame out the window. They went well above and beyond that. They took down the entire sheet rock wall, moved the electrical, and then re sheet rocked the entire wall. They even installed headers when they probably could have cut corners and not bothered. They were extremely efficient and thoroughly cleaned after the job was done. All in all an excellent experience and I am calling them to install more windows very shortly.

Horrible!!! This job has been a horrible experience for us from the get go. We were never given keys to the door at the install and still are unable to get the company to provide these. This install didn't go very well at all and the workmanship was very sloppy. There were lots of problems with the work and we were and are still very dissatisfied. Our siding was very damaged when they fit the door into the house and the workmen never fixed this even after we pointed it out. Parts and instructions were missing and the workmen had to come back to install missing parts, such as the lock to open the door part way. The door, evidently, was sent with missing parts, including the keys to the door, which we still haven't received. The workmen had to come back and fix things but didn't do a good job. My husband had to caulk several visible gaps which showed on the inside of the door due to sloppy unprofessional installation. My husband requested the missing instructions & the keys from the Three Sons Windows and Doors company several times but the company failed to obtain these to date and it has been 10 months now. They told us to get a locksmith as 10 months elapsed but they ignored our requests for the missing keys and missing instructions for all this time and now want us to pay a locksmith to have a key made that we should have been given to us when they did the work. Just recently, we needed to adjust our door as it wasn't sliding and we still have no instructions on how to do that due to the fact they refuse to provide these instructions. We can't use the lock from the outside due to the missing key. Our siding looks bad near the outside of the door because they left it damaged when they cut an opening for the door. They initially seemed like a good company and the owner initially met with us to go over the work. We were going to consider them for additional work if they did a good job on the door, but the installer, (his son-in-law), did a really poor job and the contractors that followed during the second attempt to get things right were unskilled and sloppy as well. We will never use this company again and will find someone else to do the additional work we will need. Now we have to pay a locksmith for a key that we should have received with the door. We will also have to hire someone to fix our siding due to the damage they caused making the cost of this project almost double the initial cost due to the damage and missing parts. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Paul and team showed up on time and got the job done quickly. They were clean and professional. They were careful to put everything back exactly how it was and did an excellent job. Good price. Highly recommend.

We looked at over 10 different companies to do our windows and door replacements, and chose Three Sons because the owner Paul seemed very knowledgeable and was great to work with. Their prices were also reasonable compared with other quotes that we received for good quality windows. The overall job went great, they finished the work in 3 days and just had to come back for one last piece a couple weeks later when a delayed part came in. The quality of the installations was great, the workers were all personable and hard working, and Three Sons was very accommodating on a couple of other minor repair jobs I asked them to do. We'll definitely consider them again for future work, and would recommend them to others.

Three Sons Window and Door were fantastic. They gave us a great price, came when they said they would, and did the work in an excellent fashion. The crew worked incredibly hard, cleaned up thoroughly, and were delightful to work with. We couldn't be happier.

Despite doing the project during the middle of a very cold, snowy winter, Three sons did a great job. Their crew was on-site every day that weather permitted, even during the bitter cold. The work was very unobtrusive despite the entire house being occupied. I would definitely recommend them to others.
