Description of Work: I arranged for Sila to come to the house between 9-noon on a Monday. They called on Friday to confirm, which I did. I then stayed at home on Monday morning. At noon I called Sila because they had not yet shown-up. They said they had called me and since I didn't answer (I was upstairs at the time), they did not send anyone over. I had been listening for the doorbell all morning - so to find out that they didn't even send someone by was really disappointing and poor customer service. So I've given them poor marks on punctuality. However, they did send someone later in the day and the service was (as I had experienced before) very professional and high quality. I would use this provider again, but keep my phone with me permanently. I would advise Sila to change this policy and send someone to where they have committed to in the timeperiod they have committed to.

Description of Work: I purchased a deal from Angie's List for winter furnace inspection and cleaning provided by Sila Heating & AC. As it turned out during the service I purchased a wrong deal (our furnace uses gas not oil and deal wasn't specific enough) but the contractor politely explained my mistake and accepted the deal and the price. He came right on time after giving me a call that he's about 20min away. He was extremely polite and efficient and very professional. He did clean the furnace and adjusted it explaining all the way the work that was done. Answered all my questions. |He also offered a yearly contract without pushing me to accept it. |I was impressed with overall experience and will definitely use their service in the future.

Description of Work: Purchased an Angie's list walk for an oil burner tune up. Scheduling was fine and the tech arrived for the appointment on time. The tech seemed to have an opinion that everything was previously tuned incorrectly. The entire system being a year old, I showed him the manufacture supplied documentation for recommend nozzle sizes for the specific brand burner in use. He reluctantly agreed that he made a mistake. He made another statement that there's no way the building inspector signed off on the original work because the fuel supply line wasn't wrapped. I pointed to the plastic sleeve on the fuel line and asked him did he mean that wrap? He backed down. | |About 30 minutes after the tech left my water sensor alarm tripped as a pressure valve on the system blew due to the tech leaving the system in manual mode and set at a temp well above the safety valve. Now with a flooded basement it took over an hour for someone from Sila to return onsite. No help with cleaning up the water but the tech did replace the pressure relief valve. | |Fast forward 5 days, I awake to no heat and no hot water. Call Sila, takes them 4 hours to arrive. The system was not firing the burner because it was not tuned properly. The burner sensor was not detecting a stable flame and shutting off. | |At first I thought the tech was trying to hustle me into buying additional services by finding faults. But given the chain of mistakes made I think it was just inexperience or incompetence. I do not plan to use these guys again. | | |
