Sila Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical

I am new to the area and have never had forced air, electric furnace. I took the ofer for a coupon to have the work done. Don't remeber how much it was. I had some questions for the person that came but he was not very helpful in answering them. Asked if it was possible to repair the humidifier attached to the furnace and he didn't know but was not eager to follow up. I asked about an air cleaner but I don't think he ever answered me on that. He did the work fast and left and was not very friendly. Don't know how he did because, as I said, I never had this kind of furnace before.

The tech was very thorough and explained the process as he went along. He was very professional, courteous and cleaned up everything after he was finished.

It was a great experience. They provided us with nice follow-up and we have actually had them out again.

Technician arrived as promised, inspected air handler in attic and condenser unit outside. During inspection he replaced filters in air handler.

The serviceman arrived on time and was very professional and friendly. He covered his shoes each time he came inside. He found many problems with our 15 year old systems, even the chance of a fire if we used one on which the mice had chewed through an outside wire. He wrote a thorough report and said he would get us the prices for the work that needed to be done. We never heard back from him or the company. Because of a death in our family we never tried to track it down. It's unfortunate because we would have liked to use their company again. Now I'm not sure.

Was on time, professional and friiendly. Did the job quickly for a good price.

Technician came out to check the system and determined that the system was working properly. He informed me that there is a supply next to the thermostat that may may be prematurley triggering the heat to turn off. Peter was punctual, professional and answered all my questions thoroughly and politely. I wouldn't hesitiate to use Sila again in the future.

We had a angieslist deal for $49/1hr. The plumber who arrived was very professional. He fixed 2 leaky toilets and replaced a kitchen faucet. It took him approximately 2hrs. So we paid the additional hour in labor plus material. The work was performed to satisfaction.

He came to check if the furnace was working properly. He said the unit was old and needed to be replaced. I ask the service person to have some call for a quote new system. When salesman came out, they said they were not interested in doing the work.

Purchased $89 Big Deal furnace tune-up and the technician was great. After working through the tune-up he made some recommendations for fixing a few things that were not working properly. Within a week Sila was back to work on those additional repairs. The guys were courteous, clean, and took the time to explain everything they were doing and why. Overall, such a good experience that I decided to purchase their annual maintenance plan for my older furnace.

Before I had the boiler serviced, it had failed a required combustion test performed on it in order to have the house weather sealed, and have insulation blown into the exterior walls. I thought that I might have to spend much more money and replace the boiler, since it was over 40 years old. But the service that the Sila technician provided helped the boiler pass the second combustion test. Money saved!!

Showed up on time, came across as very professional. He spent a lot of time cleaning the boiler; I guess it had been several years since the boiler had been serviced (we had just moved into the house). Gave me some information on a service contract on the boiler, which we are still considering.

I purchased two service coupons from Angie's list and wanted to try out Sila Heating & Air Conditioning. Although it was my first time to use their service, I heard their name from another contractor I hired. It's easy to schedule an appointment over the phone. On the day of appointment, I was notified that the technician was on the way and the technician arrived within the window of appointment. He was very polite and put on the shoe cover to ensure cleanness during the service. The service itself was good too. He explained all the questions I had and performed service beyond the expectation, such as giving extra replacement filter and tapes. He also gave some advice on cleaning the blower but he said it is fine for now. I did not feel he's trying to sell me anything. Overall I am very satisfied with Sila.

I responded to a Big Deal offer for gas heating system inspection. I wanted this done for the 2011-2012 heating season. The technician came within a few days. The inspection was thorough and complete. During the course of the work the tech noticed that my boiler expansion tank was rusting. It was apparent that the rust had progressed and would soon lead to tank leakage. This alerted me to the need to for a tank replacement, which I had done soon after by my local plumber. The inspection was the key to avoiding an emergency.

Overall there were no problems, and we're confident that our heating system is in good shape and solid working order.

When the Sila plumber completed his testing of the furnace and heating system, he got a reading of inadequate pressure for the gas supply into my house. He recommended calling the utility company to run their own tests and confirm what might be needed to improve our situation. The gas company agreed with the finding of low pressure and tested our gas line to see if they could clean it, inset a sleeve inside the existing line, or replace the line completely. The utility company technicians determined that the line was too old and too small for the first two options. A replacement of the line from the street to the basement of our house was scheduled for early June. A week after the new gas line was installed, the Sila plumber returned to complete the repairs on the furnace, test the whole system, and install a new programmable thermostat. Due to his thoroughness during the original furnace check, our gas pressure is restored to a level where all our gas appliances, as well as our furnace, operate more efficiently, We were very satisfied with our experience with the Sila personnel, and decided to sign up for a 5-year service plan with the company.

Peter completed a tune-up on my gas boiler, cleaned the boiler, checked all the pumps, and performed a safety test. He also repaired something that was originally installed incorrectly at no additional cost. He was punctual and knowledgable. It was a very good experience.

Overall everything was good. They did need to go up and down the stairs a lot for supplies (which wasn?t great since I live in a building that wasn?t convenient to their truck) Other than this everything was good.

Excellent service. I would not hesitate to engage their services again or recommend to friends.

I had an appointment scheduled for 3 pm. Around 3:20pm I called the company to inquire about the appointment. I was told that they had been trying to reach me at a wrong number to inform me that the technician was going to be late for the appointment because an emergency call had occurred. Around 4:20pm someone showed up and serviced winter weatherized my central air system. He informed me about a burned piece of equipment that needed to be replaced and charged me another $100 on top of the appointment.

For the steam boiler checkup using the Angie's List Big Deal, we felt like we got a very good value. It did seem like the technician was recommending necessary--but expensive--maintenance on the system that may have not been as pressing as it was made out to be. (We installed a new steam boiler system three years ago in 2009.) There was a minor repair to a radiator in the kitchen that we needed to have done (i.e., replacing a leaky valve). We opted to have the work done by another service provider after getting a quote for the work that was less expensive. We believe that Sila would have done a good job but their hourly rate seemed high for what we needed to have done.

On the day of the appointment, he called to state the time he would be arriving. Punctual, courteous and he put paper booties over his shoes when he entered the house. he checked my unit and thermostat. After he was done, he placed everything back in its place. He explained, in detail, how my unit was operating and what future repairs I may need (my system is about 25 years old) We discussed options for a new system and the price ranges for replacing my system. There was no seling tactics or pressure to purchase new system or anyother service. he was there to do his job, and did it. gave suggestions and answered my questions. will consider using them if i replace my unit.
