Description of Work: The company called me to set-up an appointment to come and tune-up my A/C unit. While they did change the appointment time the day before, they did show up on time the day of the appointment. The technician that came was professional and got right to work. He did identify two issues with our system and gave me an estimate to get the work done and costs for service plans, if we were interested. He also left me with his contact information in case we had any other questions about the problems he identified.

This approach totally negates the bargain of getting the big deal in the first place. It took me a day to realize this. When I called them the next day, they were nice enough to return my check and cancel the year long maintenance contract.

Description of Work: I received the following email from Sila Heating & Air Conditioning. Michael, Thanks for the email. As of right now we are unable to quote any Heating work due to the high demand for Air Conditioning. I can save your contacts and reach out once things change. My guess is that come August we will begin to start taking on heating work. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns and I apologize for any inconveniences. Thanks,Jake McLoughlin I appreciate their quick response. Unfortunatley they were unable to assist me at this time due to my request for a heating service upgrade. They currently are focused on Air Conditioning work. I have other companies who have contacted me and are available to perform the work at this time. I have no interest in waiting until August.

+ -1 moreTheir technician was prompt and courteous. He did a full cleaning and inspection of both zones for heating and cooling. A few issues were identified that would require repair in the next year or two, and several safety issues were identified related to water accumulation circuits not being connected. We were given full choice on which items to repair and address. In addition to the repairs we were offered the opportunity to sign up for yearly maintenance packages which would cover all inspections and repairs during that period. We opted just for the repairs figuring that the systems were ten years into their useful life, and the money would be best spent repairing, and waiting for them to wear out.
Description of Work: Sila came and performed a heating and air check on both zones of our house. From the inspection they cleared out a snake that had wintered around the capacitor on the outside compressor, discovered that both compressors had rusting capacitors, that the safety line for the sump pump was not properly attached, and that an upstairs condensor pan did not have a water overflow safety switch, and one of the ignitors was showing sign of wear. They replaced each of the worn out capacitors, and the ignitor, plus setup the safety switches. I had recently replaced my pair of thermostats with Nest thermostats, and their technician spent time to make sure everything was properly wired for both heating and cooling. Very satisfied with the service performed, and appreciated the no pressure estimate to repair all or part of the issues identified.

Description of Work: I bought an Angie's list deal for an A/C unit servicing. He serviced the A/C unit and made an additional recommendation to replace in a piece in our furnace that would make servicing the unit easier and more efficient in the future. He also fixed our programmable thermostat that wasn't working properly.

+ -1 moreThe technician did not perform the tune up because he claimed that the furnace is too old. But they charged the tune up cost anyhow. Then the salesperson came to give an estimate verbally. I ask for written estimate but he never provided. Then after a week, I found out the heat is not working and then I ask another company to check it out. It turned out that one of the values was turned off which causes me $150 extra. Will not recommend this company to anyone. It is completely not professional at all.

+ 0 moreI was very happy with my decision to use them. They are very responsive so they call me back right away. They always do what they say they are going to do and if a plan needs to change they tell me about it within plenty of time for me to mull it over and figure out if that is what I want to do. They are not pushy, but they are responsive. Their price was very fair and they showed up instantly to do the repair work. I sent a friend of mine to them for a smaller thing and they were very pleased. They don't turn up their nose at a smaller job.
Description of Work: I used Sila Heating & Air Conditioning to do an oil burner to energy-efficient gas furnace conversion for the apartment downstairs and my house upstairs. They also installed an energy-efficient water heater and re-routed some pipes downstairs. This company also has done some smaller repairs including fixing a leaking pipe that was going to my hose outside.

+ -1 moreThey were really responsive. The guy was polite and he seemed well informed on what he had to do. There was an issue with a part, it was making a weird noise and he made us listen to it. We had an issue with that for the past six years so I knew he wasn’t bluffing, and he replaced that while he was here, which was great because we like taking preventative measures. They were willing to work with us on our schedule, which was good too, and was pretty important. He actually called and asked if he could come in early.
