The workers were punctual and professional. They identified the problem with our central air, and repaired it in a timely and professional manner.

We scheduled two cleanings, both in the same house. The technician came and did both service calls on the same day. Once the technician finished, he took us to the basement to show us what he had done and also pointed out some issues that could cause a problem in the future. One boiler is only 3 years old and the other system is about 20 years old. We were very impressed with their service and their professionalism. We have used them again since our Big Deal. I highly recommend them - very professional technicians, prompt service and their price was what I expected.

Overall I was very pleased. However, he did suggest a change in plumbing around the furnace which I was not expecting. As we had just moved into the house, we did not have any knwledge of the system and so it was reassuring to have a professional check it out and point out possible future requirements. He appeared to be thorough and was punctual and neat.

The service has been postponed to May21st, so waiting for that for the final review.

The total experience with Sila from my initial contact for information to the final walk through on how to use the installed systems was smooth and professional. Sam from Sila came to my home, toured each unit, measured the rooms, measured windows, inquired about morning and afternoon sun exposure on the property and explained the options. He was upfront in telling me that Sila may not be the least expensive vendor, but they have been in business for 20 plus years, have plenty of experience, are fully insured and will be responsive to the customers needs. The day before the installation was to start, Sam was scheduled to leave for vacation so he brought Jake (Project Manager) to my home to walk through all we had discussed, what the plans were for the project and to assure me that i would be in good hands. I was told it would be a 2 - 3 day job. Rob and crew showed up both days of the installationd at the scheduled time and worked until almost 8 pm on the second day to finsih up. They were extremely professional, answered questions, explained how the units and wiring would appear on the outside of my home and chose the best locations for the outside units so that they would not interfere with my limited yard space. They really planned the project out well and advised me every step of the way. They covered everything inside while they worked and they cleaned up so well afterward that you would never have known they were here, never mind that they were drilling through very thick brick walls. I used the services of the electrician (Greg Mahoney) that has worked with Sila on numerous projects. Greg also arrived as scheduled on both the day he came to assess the project and give m an estimate as well as the day his team (Adam & Joey) showed up to do the elecrical work. All three men were professional, courteous and again walked me through all the steps. Sila scheduled a post installation visit for a technician (Steve) to come out to my home, start up the systems to make sure they were operating correctly and to show me how to use the system. Overall, I highly recommend Sila for your air conditioning installation. Now I just need a HOT day so I can sit back and enjoy the cool air and reap the benefits of everyone's hard work in completing this project :) Thank you Sila!

The whole process from first visit to completion went on time, as described with no hitches or delays. The system works well.

Service tech did a good job, checking and doing the service on my furnace. I felt confident he was properly trained and knew what he was talking about. My only problem with the whole experience was the scheduling. I originally bought the furnace tune up in the fall, and then forgot about it until I got a recent e mail from Angie's list asking for a review. I called and made an appointment. Sila called me back, a few days before the appointment, and asked to reschedule, as there was not going to be a tech in my area on that day. We rescheduled for the following week with a Tue. 3-5 PM time frame. I did leave work early to insure that I was there at the scheduled time. No one appeared and there was no call. I did get a call the next morning saying that they thought the appointment was on Thursday, which it wasn't. If they thought the appointment was on Thursday, why did they call me on Wednesday morning? We rescheduled again for Thursday morning at 7:00 AM. Unfortunately these scheduling issues tainted the whole experience to the negative for me. From that point on everything went fine. The actual service was on time and professional. If I was going to use this company again, I would insist that they do a better job meeting their scheduling obligation.

I used a coupon last year for my tuneup,and was very pleased with the service. Thus,when the offer came up this year,I took advantage of it. The job went very well from beginning to end,even with the extenuating circumstances. I would highly recommend Sila Heating and Air Conditioning,and will continue to use them for my needs.

Unfortunately bleeding my heating system did not help with the noises coming from it. However, Sila was very professional and I would use them again.

I was shopping for quotes and called Sila. I requested an estimate on furnishing and installation of a central AC unit in my home, which has existing duct work. I got a call back within an hour, which is great! The person spoke to me over the phone and was able to give me an estimate based on the information I provided him. I was very grateful of this because I was able to get a ballpark figure without having to schedule them to come over and look. A lot of contractors want to come over just to sell on the spot. Their estimate were in line with other companies.

Can't say enough good things about this company! From the first call to enquire about having this done, to the final call to see if we were satisfied, everyone we dealt with was prompt, neat, friendly and professional. Our Project Manager, Sam, started us off with a review of the project and our options. He was very thorough and professional, took time to be sure he and we understood everything and set us up with an installation date for the following week. The promised install was done on the agreed date and took about 6 hours. We didn't need any extra electrical work or equipment/ductwork as our cottage already had a relatively new, A/C-ready furnace and thermostat, all the ductwork, and our electrical panel had the additional available circuit necessary. The workers showed up to install the pad and then set the compressor; the plumber/electrician came to deal with wiring and gas hookup. By early to mid-afternoon everything was done. Sam called within minutes of their departure to verify we were satisfied. We have had the chance to use our new A/C once since the job was completed and it is such a pleasure to not have to deal with shuffling window units around, or have cold air directly blowing on you from window units -- no very cold or very warm rooms because we only had 2 window units for 5 rooms...just quiet, consistent cooling!

It went very well. The guys showed up right on time. It was clean and efficient. He told me exactly what he had to do to do the job and did what he said he was going to do. They left. Cleaned up. I'm very satisfied. I thought he was professional and did what he had to do to get the job done.

I recently purchased a home with 2 newer, but poorly maintained steam heating systems. They are both excessively loud even for steam heat, and the one for the second floor can sometimes take up to an hour before it starts giving any real heat. I saw the angies list coupon and thought it would be a great deal to get some one in to do a basic tune up and maybe let me know what was going on. The tech who came by was very nice and spent about 4 hours vacuuming And bleeding the systems. In the end he found all these issues and told me he would write them all up with an estimate and send them to me. 3 or 4 days went by before getting a phone call from the tech saying he forgot or didn't have time to do the write up and send me the estimate. He said he would get it to me as soon as possible. I'm in no rush so i told him to take his time. Its almost 3 months later and i've still yet to recieve this write-up/estimate. So in the end I basically paid $180 for someone to spend 4 hours vacuuming and draining some water for me. Which leads me to believe they only put out these coupons to make a few quick bucks when they're slow and fish for new easy work.

I had purchased an Angie's list deal for air conditioning inspection and tuning, but had never taken advantage of it. Though the deal had expired quite a while ago, Sila still honored it. Their technician Billy came over on a Thurs. afternoon, and inspected the system. He replaced the very dirty vent filter with a new one, checked the outdoor compressor and suggested that I get a cover for it, which they have, to protect from snow, etc. in the non-heating season. To check the internal system, he had to climb a six floor ladder to a high crawl space above my kitchen. Not an easy place to get into! He pointed out to me that there was a considerable risk of water damage to my ceiling if it were to leak. In his truck, he had a safety drain pipe that protects against this, which I purchased and he installed. I got up on the ladder and looked in to see the completed work. He also explained to me that adding a flood pan would provide additional protection, if I wanted to have that done at some point. They are large, and would not be easy to get into that space, but Billy says that he'll be able to do it if he brings an associate next time. I really appreciated his explanation to me of my system and how to prevent any accidents with it. Billy is very professional and and also a really nice guy. You get the sense that Sila is a class organization, and I give them an enthusiastic recommendation.

I'm not very impressed with them, I'm afraid. I used them a couple years in a row. I think what happened then, I purchased the $90 and discovered that it couldn't be used for oil heating so I have to pay the difference for a regular with $40 extra and I used them to work that and this years I used them but I didn't find them very helpful, it seemed to be the job but it's something down there but except with the problem with the heating system. It looks like they didn't do a thing so they check but they didn't swap basic parts or stuff like that. They put me a lot of trouble.

Did the tuneup. Said I needed a new blower because mine is dusty and can catch fire. Quote for new one $729.00. I got a second opinion. Found blower to be fine. if it needed to be replaced, cost would be under $300. The lesson is: get a second opinion.

Sila responded promptly to a request for an estimate. Nick came out to the house and provided a detailed explanation of several options. He was professional and his presentation was a factor in our choosing this provider. After the proposal was accepted, Nick and the workmen came out wihin the week and completed the installation in one morning. Their work was highly professsional and was precisely as it had been described. They also recommended an electrician ( Greg Mahoney)who also completed the job in a highly professional manner. The price for both was exactly as had been quoted. I would definately use this company again.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal special offer for this service. What I appreciated about this company is that they came out and were really easy to schedule with. They were understanding of our very busy work schedule and worked around us to do the service. They were super clean and did a great job. Sila told us how we can be better home maintenance owners so I appreciated that. They did not try to up-charge us and were consistent in the level of service they offered us. We live in a two-unit condominium so we actually purchased two Big Deals and had boilers in both units serviced.

They were very good everywhere and he did what I expected him to do. It was a pretty reasonable fee for what he did. He was right on time. I was most happy with them and I would absolutely use them again.

Got off to a bad start when the Sila dispatcher forgot to take my phone number and they didn't contact me to let me know the repair person was going to be quite late. Repair person showed up about 1.5 hours late, immediately condemned the boiler with barely a look inside. Sounds like I am angry about this, but honestly the boiler was quite old and probably was due for replacement so I don't think it was a scam to quickly sell a boiler replacement. Agreed to take a quote from the Sila salesperson for a boiler replacement. The salesperson (surprise) was exactly on time. Took careful measurements of my house size for sizing the boiler and was patient with my questions. However, he kept on a mild amount of pressure to commit to the job now, now, now. I was puzzled why the mildly high pressure sale for such a large ticket item (to me) so I took three more quotes from other vendors recommended by Angie's List. It is difficult to do exactly apples-to-apples because no two companies quote the exact same model boiler, but Sila's quote was still nearly 2x all of the other quotes (all ~84% efficiency gas boilers) . Maybe Sila's boiler was a better model (my research couldn't support that) maybe they were prepared to do a slightly higher quality job, but all these things seem unlikely to add up to $6,000+. Summary, my experience with Sila was neither good nor terrible, but I wanted to warn people about their price.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for A/C tune-up & inspection. Sila called me to schedule the service within a few days of my purchase. Scheduling at a convenient time was easy and the technician showed up on time, put on shoe covers and asked if I'd been having any problems with the A/C. I explained some concerns and he took a look at them and offered to provide a quote on work to remediate the problems. He was very clear that he would only provide me a quote for the additional work if I wanted him to, which I appreciated that there was no pressure to do additional work. He went ahead and did the inspection & tune-up without any fuss or disruption, and then provided a quote for additional work that I could undertake if I was interested. I haven't run the system yet, so I can't say whether there are any problems with the tune-up, but I doubt there will be. I've used Sila in the past to service my A/C and my boiler and I've never had a problem. Technician was very friendly. I probably won't undertake the additional work because now that I've thought about it more (after the technician left) I don't think the proposed additional work will solve the issue, which is the reason why I gave a B rating on quality.

After a good experience on another job, rehired Nick and Sila toput in some A/C units. It went well, we are very pleased!

Did basic seasonal tune-up as per coupon... explained what he was doing, and suggested some upgrades to improve access for future cleaning and to minimize possibility of water spills. He also talked me out of another upgrade I had been thinking about, saying it wasn't necessary. I decided to go ahead with the suggested upgrades/improvements (a clean-out access pipe and and auxiliary drain pan with float device) for an additional $290. Service was done quickly and efficiently.
