Very well. Even though the unit was fully-charged, it's suffering due to age and rattling valves. He suggested letting it fail (instead of pushing us to replace it now). It doesn't seem to make sense to replace any parts either. The air handler is old but fine. Very professional and communicative. We'd be happy to use them if the unit fails; so far this year, it's held up.

Showed up on time and cleaned my gas fired boiler. Have used him in the past and will use him again.

It was excellent service and to be recommended. Technician arrived promptly after I had placed an emergency call. He worked efficiently and solved what seemed a tiny malfunction, but which was sufficient to bring the A/C system down. .

He checked it and gave me the bad news that it was inoperable and I need a new one, which was unfortunate but not unexpected.

The technician from Sila inspected and cleaned the air handling unit and compressor for my central air system. I purchased the service with an Angie's List coupon and was very happy with the price and quality of service. I would use Sila Air again.

The technician phoned from the road to ask permission to arrive a few minutes early, and that was great for my schedule. Sila's first time here, Brian was shown the system and needed no further guidance. Within twenty minutes, he had completed the check up and tune up, showing what had been done and suggesting the new clean out port for the condensate drain. That was accepted and installed within the next twenty minutes. Brian prepared an invoice, I paid it, and he departed. Elapsed time was under fifty minutes.

I was unable to use the deal due to my air conditioner being a central air unit. The deal was not as specific as I would have liked. Also it did not mention that it did not cover central air units. The company was professional and polite.

It worked out good. They were very courteous. There have not been any problems. I would use them again.

This is e second year we've been visited by Bobby from Sila. Bobby continues to expand his repertoire and teach us as he performs his work. Yes, we'll have him back again.

My upper zone AC unit had stopped working during a heat wave. Basically the unit would operate but no cold air would enter the upper zone of my house. I called Sila at noon the next day and although I thought that they were a little pricey I decided to hire them because of their excellent reputation. They told me that they would be able to stop by later in the afternoon. They called home and they showed up a little earlier which was great. The technician diagnosed the problem in 15' and replaced a blown up capacitor. He tested the system and everything worked fine. He charged us the rate they charge for the first 15' and the cost of the part which was very reasonable. The technician was professional, understanding (I have 2 young kids which had to take mid-day naps in upper 80's temperature) and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend the service.

It was great. The technicians worked fast and the system is high quality. We just started our second year using it and it works great.

The rep was punctual and seemed thorough. Took measurements, looked at the space. The ballpark estimate was really high. He never followed up with a proposal, but did leave a long print out of customer reviews. I guess we'll never know what the quality might have been. Really puzzling. We obviously went with another company.

After a misunderstanding about scheduling, the tune up was done on schedule, my AC system was checked and cleaned within an hour of arrival. I am happy with the outcome.

Prompt and efficient. Please do note they charge more for oil than gas burner tune-ups. Be sure to ask.

Actual tune up was good and furnace running well, however service pe rson told us we needed changes made due go Faulty installation however when email 2 times never gave us a quote for cost or necessary repairs.

Sila Heating & Air Conditioning was fine. I don't remember anything negative.

I have to comment on how terrible my experience was with Sila. I'm really shocked that this company has such a high rating. The Good: -I called and they scheduled appointment that wasn't too far into the future. The appointment I received was, if I remember, the day AFTER I scheduled it. -The HVAC person arrived early. -Was able to note that my AC needed coolant. -The price for service was about on par with other providers. The Bad: -The technician told my wife that our condensor was shot and that he could FIX IT for $3,000. We're not talking about a replacement unit, he said he'd fix it. -The technician told my wife that he doesn't know if the coolant leak was due to there being a broken condensor or a leak in the line as it enters the house. I've since found out that this is easy to determine and just laziness on his part. -He then tried to sell us on a new condensor and furnace unit when he hadn't even done his job. -The technician being early is also a problem because if you aren't ready, they leave! I've been quoted at under $3,000 to replace the whole unit and he wants to fix it at that price?!?! Outrageous. Not to mention that he didn't even determine where the leak was. Now I have to pay for a second technician to come take a look because I know Sila's was bogus. Avoid at all costs. Terrible company.

We had been customers of Sila for five years. The technicians are great, knowledgeable and trustworthy. However, we have had historical issues with the office staff and their management of documentation from day one. A most recent customer service issue resulted in our service agreement being canceled and a refund check issued to us for the remainder of the agreement without any discussion after the issue that occurred on 06/05 from Sila?s local branch manager who we have never spoke or dealt with previously.

He recommended a new system, said ours was shot.I asked him to have his company contact us after the 4th of July weekend to discuss. I still haven't heard from them. What we learned later was that the coil was full of dust and we probably could delay a system replacement by proper maintenance and tune-up. Apparently this wasn't done, because there was no way our coil could have gotten that full in 1 year, if we went many before that without a cleaning.

I assumed from past tune ups that they would clean the screen filter on the compressor but they did not

The installation was top notch. The installers were polite, skilled, and efficient. The project manager was on-site regularly to oversee the work. I live in an old house, and a lot of work needed to be done to coordinate the outlets and wiring. The organization and then execution of this plan was smooth and successful. I turned on the system about 3 weeks ago and am now enjoying a cool summer. I wish all the people working on my house were as professional as these folks.

I bought a coupon for an A/C tune-up. The technician came to the house and was on time and courteous. After going through the system, he delivered some bad news and basically told me that the system is unusable and should not even be turned on for a number of reasons. This system was working just last season and I knew there were some issues with it, but I did not expect the system to be unusable. I had hoped for better results from this initial visit, but the technician was professional, on time and courteous, and I'm not placing blame on him for the issues my system was having that was apparently beyond reasonable repair. Regardless, I took the technician's advice and called them back to have one of their project engineers come over to give me a quote to replace the system. I'm also taking this opportunity to convert from oil to gas, so this is a little more involved than just an A/C replacement at this point. A week later one of their project engineers came out to look at the project. He went though the house and we talked about a few options and he provided me with some package pricing. After our discussion, he asked me if I was going to proceed with the project. I told him that i was going to get some additional quotes and he seemed a bit annoyed by that and then asked me if i was even going to get back to him. I told him that I would, but I expected to see a formal quote. A few days passed and the quote came. I wasn't impressed with the quote at all. I've received three other quotes for this project and his provided me with the least amount of detail by far. When I asked him for more detail and a cost breakdown of what the system components cost and what the labor cost was he replied back by just splitting the labor cost into one lump sum and the equipment cost into one lump sum. I can guess why he did that now after receiving other quotes and my guess is that he didn't really want me to see what I was really paying for regarding the individual system components. I guess I should have expected this because when I told him that I was going to get some other quotes he told me that his company was usually not the cheapest, but they were really good at what they do. I guess I kind of expected that too because of their reputation and from all of the overwhelmingly positive reviews from Angie's List. Overall, this was just an average experience with a contractor and I guess I expected more given their reputation. I'm not impressed by their approach to project quotes and their lack of transparency when asked about what things really costs. I'm sure they do top quality work and their reputation speaks for itself, but I cant justify the cost. Their quote was the highest (by far). I'm okay with paying a little extra for quality, but in doing so I'd expect to feel good about making that choice. Unfortunately, they didn't really leave me with that impression and I'm going with someone else for this project. For what it's worth, all of the other quotes came from other highly rated Angie's List companies as well. To be fair, this should really be two different reviews, but I decided to do one review so that it captures the over experience I had with them.

After purchasing the coupon, Sila contacted me to describe the work to be performed. I scduled the appointment a few weeks in advance and they arrived promptly. He removed the old water heater and took it with him. He installed a new Bradford water heater all within 2.5 hours. He made sure the place was clean before he left. He also left a detailed invoice describing all his work. Overall, the services were excellent and fairly priced.

Friendly. Knowledgeable. Very helpful. He even offered to install a window air conditioner in a room the central air does not reach
