I purchased an Angie's Big Deal for $89 for furnace maintenance. Silas did an excellent job. They helped me with the air filter which is very difficult to change in my furnace.

Very professional. Checked out both systems, cleaned coils, and made 2 minor repairs which were obviously necessary. Gave honest observations about the system and did not recommend unnecessary services.

I purchased an Angie's List big deal for $89, plus I paid 287.20 for additional parts. The job went very well. My A/C unit is very old and was due for an overhaul. The contractor was timely and polite and gave me some tips on how to care for the unit.

My furnace stopped functioning. I obtained an estimate before work began. The Sila employee worked for several hours and left. He was a nice person who communicated with me about the furnace in language I could understand, He also left detailed notes in the packet on the furnace. The cost of the repair was almost double the estimate. After he left, the furnace began running and did not stop. Instead it "cycled": turning on and off over and over, something it had never done before. I called Sila and asked that someone else come out and repair it correctly. I was assured that someone would be there that evening. No one ever arrived. When I called, I also expressed concern about the cost. I was told that, because the cost of the work was almost double that of the estimate, I would not be charged for the second visit. The same Sila emplyee returned the following Monday (the original visit occured on a Friday). Again, he spent several hours working on the furnace and assured me that it was well and truly repaired. The next time my furnace turned on, it cycled until we turned it off. Brcause it continually cycles when on, we have to be always aware of when it switches on so we can turn it off after a reasonable time. I did not call Sila again. They had worked on the furnace for at least seven hours and it still did not function correctly. I will not call them again for any repair work. Recently I discovered that the SiIa employee had not only attached several Sila decals to my furnace but had also attached one to my hot water heater, an appliance that Sila had nothing to do with. Insult to injury.

At the first service call, a technician came out to do a maintenance check on my HVAC unit. He realized that it was a two person job and required a different ladder - and I grant that it is tricky to access the roof but he indicated it would be no problem with the other guy and the other ladder. So we rescheduled the service. The technician who first showed up spoke to the scheduler, spoke to whomever he had to and conveyed the situation. But when the two guys showed up for the second appointment, they decided that they didn't want to go up on my roof. I called Sila back to get a better understanding of what the miscommunication was between the first technician who thought it would be no problem and the second group who refused to do any work and they never called me back. I called again today and got a "sorry" but no explanation of what went wrong and why everyone's time was wasted. Meanwhile, that's two mornings that I had to take off of work with nothing to show for it.

Sila was great. The AC unit died in the early AM July 5th. They came same day and found the motor was gone. They called on Monday with the estimate for the replacement parts and stated 2-3 days for arrival to them. Then like-clockwork, Sila called on Thursday to let us know that the motor was in and there was a service window for the same day. We were ecstatic on the timing. The work was efficient and the AC is again back at work!

They showed up and said they don't work on old units and demanded money anyway. I would not recommend them.

Quick and easy to set appointment. Price was very good as used their special on Angies's List. Another company did the work last year and charged $299.00 for one visit.

Fine. Told the office weeks before that I have an unusual size filter. Told them again the day before and they assured me that they have the filter with the technician. Tech did not have filter. Had to come back next day to install. Had to stay home an extra day to get this done.

It went fine. I've signed up for a yearly service plan.

Well. Punctual to start with. Polite. But, more to the point very knowledgeable. Clearly knew exactly what he was doing. Previous reviews had noted that they are full priced. I agree, however I felt it was well worth it to have a highly competant reliable person come do the work. I will use them again.

Our AC was not working properly - seemed the blower had stopped working so we called Sila who was able to come out a few days later. They were able to diagnose the problem quickly and had it repaired within 45 mins. Very thankful as hot weather was on the way.

Technician was on time and did a good job. I did not go into detail on exactly what he was doing.

I have oil heat with a tankless hot water heater. I wanted to know my options for getting a stand alone water heater so my furnace would not have to run all summer. They thought it would be good to have someone come out to my house since there were a few different options but I would have to pay $150 for that person to come out to my house. Seems like a lot of money to pay someone for a quote. It makes sense on one level as they wanted to have one of the plumbers take a look at my house as opposed to a salesperson but still seems a bit steep.

Called for Special on AC tune up. Diagnosis showed malfunctioning of 5 yr old furnace. Agreed to new ac unit as the current one I had was very old.

Great experience with Sila. I actually didn't believe that all the good reviews could possibly be true, but my experience was great, so I'm adding a great review as well. They answered the phone during heat wave, tried to get me scheduled as soon as possible (next day) and were pleasant and helpful. The technician was late to the two hour window, but Sila called me to let me know he needed more time at the customer before me. They then called to confirm he was on his way and then asked me to call THEM back to confirm the confirmation. That was a little annoying, as it seemed unnecessary. Great experience with our technician Bobby. He took great care to listen as I described the problem, asked great questions and looked around. He was really informative about my cooling system and all the components. Very smart, very knowledgable and a great guy. Everyone should request Bobby. Actually, no, everyone should not request him because I want him to be available to come to my house the next time something breaks and I don't want him to get so popular everyone is requesting him. I would highly recommend Sila and plan to have them back to my house for future work.

It was several months before I called to schedule an appointment. I scheduled the appointment for 8:00 a.m. on June 27, 2013. A day prior to the appointment, I received a call and was asked whether the appointment could be moved to 7:00 a.m., which was better for me, so I agreed. Craig showed up on time. He asked me if I had any problems before he started. I have a one unit A/C heating system commonly used in condos. I told him the air conditioning was not working properly, so he did an A/C tuneup instead of the heating system tuneup and honored the deal price. He checked inside and found that a part needed to be replaced. He offered me 2 options for the part, each having a different warranty and price. It turns out that he only had the more expensive part, but he replaced it and only charged me the lower price. He finished the tune-up and gave me information about Sila's service plans: 1, 3 and 5 years and the cost. There was no pressure to purchase, and I was told I could deduct the $89.00 charge from the price of the service plan if I purchased one. I am planning to purchase a service plan. Very satisfied with the service provided by Craig and Sila.

Disappointing experience. Was advised that I needed $1300 in work done on a 1 year old system.Second vendor system working correctly. Also some scheduling issues. After scheduling "big deal" appointment for service I received several calls from the vendor advising that I needed to quickly schedule service. When I called them they confirmed the appointment I scheduled was on their calendar. After at least 1 more call I sent them an e-mail requesting confirmation and received a quick response. The service man called me to say he would be late, but arrived within the revised time frame, not significantly later than initially scheduled. Service tech told that I needed outside gauges to monitor unit (though none of my neighbors had) and that the unit was not functioning properly as shown by the rising and lowering of pressure displayed by the gauges he had attached and the noises from the unit. He told me this indicated "non-condensibles" in the system probably because the lines had not been properly cleaned out before the refrigerant added when the system was installed. He estimated a cost of $1300 to address the problems. Not wanting to spend $1300 I had another company do an inspection, and they found the A/C unit functioning properly - . This person said that the misdiagnosis may have been due to not letting the system run for a sufficient time before testing. I did not hear the surging noises of the outside unit this time. He also confirmed that the gauges were not necessary.

The afternoon of July 4th I heard a strange noise near my a/c compressor. As I walked over to investigate, I noticed the fan was not working and immediately turned off the unit. I waited till the next day to begin calling places. Although it was a holiday weekend, I was hoping that I could find someone to service my a/c immediately. The soonest anyone could come if the company even answered the phone was Thursday, except Sila. They were able to schedule an appointment for Monday. On Monday, I got a call inquiring if I was available earlier than my scheduled appointment and jumped on the opportunity. I was told that the technician's name was Al. Al arrived at the time I was told. He was pleasant and knowledgeable. As he was opening the unit he explained that it was possibly the capacitor and told me what the cost would be to fix it. Once he opened the unit to expose the capacitor, he pointed out the tell-tail signs of the now incapacitated capacitor. He commented that he believed he had a replacement in his truck and quickly returned with a replacement. I inquired about the difference in appearance. Al explained that it was slightly different and a little more expensive AND he was going to charge me the same price he quoted. Once everything was hooked up again, the unit immediately began working like a charm. After going inside to turn the thermostat down, I noticed that the air did not appear to be blowing out of one of the registers properly. Al was happy to check it out. He reported that all seemed to be working fine and that it just needed some time to run. All in all, I was extremely pleased with Al's knowledge, ability, friendliness and especially his honesty. Al N. you rock! and so does Sila. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them to others. Only disappointment was not knowing that there was an $89 charge to come out for service. I will have to look at the listing again because that could have been my oversight. In any case, I am once again pleasantly cool and comfortable.

Great. The central air runs as good as it ever did. They will be my "go to guys" for any future A/C problems.
