The serviceman showed up right on time. He did a thorough job, and he was very good about explaining the condition of the furnace and how to maintain it in future. We were using the wrong type of filters and he showed me which type to buy. I was very pleased with the thoroughness and professionalism of the service.

Our technicians our trained not to work on any systems that are old and need to be replaced because if we try to repair a system which we know is not repairable and then we leave it will put us in a bad position. Ultimately the system will stop working again shortly after our visit. Working on a very old system can also put our technicians in an unsafe environment. It is our due diligence to do what is best for the customer as well as the heating system and in your case the heating system would have not worked for very long no matter what our technician did to it. I am glad we were able to get a project manager out to your home shortly after our technicians visit to provide you with a price for replacement to avoid any emergency situations during the cold winter months we had. Bought an Angieslist deal for a gas boiler tune up. Scheduling the service was easy. The rep came on time and did the tuning. One of my heating zones was not heating up properly. Sila fixed the pressure at the boiler and resolved the issue for a nominal price. Happy with the overall work.

The company is very professional, punctual and friendly. My only compliant the two times I have used them is on both occasions , after the original work was finished, they tried to upsell me. Telling me what else I should have done. In fairness--it was not a hard sell, but, since it happened both times-the owner may want to work with his crew, and , advise against this practice.

Was supposed to do a fall maintenance of the gas furnace. Just took a look and said he did not want to open it as it was old and recommended it be replaced. Appeared to be unfamiliar with older gas furnace systems. Charged the full cost for essentially no maintenance work. Another service person from a different outfit found the unit was fine, but found a stuck water refill valve that with a little manual action cleared silt that had plugged it (was advised that small 'silt' debris occurs in most town water supplies and it is common for refill values to get plugged). The result was a water filled heating system with uniform heating of all radiators.

The service person was professional and came on time. For the water heater flush we were told the flush was not required after he tested the water. We mentioned about a leak when we adjusted the water temperature and he looked at it. He did twist the temperature knob and the water started leaking and he couldn't make it stop while he was there. We wished he had atleast made sure that the leak stopped before leaving which he didn't do. So we were left wondering if we have to call a plumber to help us out but luckily after a few hours the leak stopped. We had the parts to replace the thermostat knob but we were told that we need to replace a bigger piece and were given an estimate of about 600$ from the company later on. We did not get this done yet. He performed a quick tune up of one of our toilet.
Description of Work: The service person came over for water heater flush and toilet tune up. For the water heater flush it was found that we didn't need the flush as the water looked okay. I believe that's all he had done for the water heater. Also a tune up for one of the toilet was done. The total service time was under 15 minutes

Since our hot water heater died, we decided to bite the bullet and go all high efficiency. Sila helped us as we navigated through MASSave to get rebates and such. We ended up with a high efficiency boiler and hot water heater, hence the price tag. There were some hot water heater glitches that occurred at first, but Sila came and responded very quickly. We've noticed a drop in energy usage already and it's been very cold.

I called to set up an appointment for an estimate to install air conditioning. After discussing a bit about my house and what systems they offered, I gave Bill all of my information including my home phone number and my email address. I asked what dates they had available. Bill mentioned two dates both about a week and a half out. I asked him if I could check with my husband to see which of the two dates had a higher likelyhood of him being able to join us. Bill said that that would be fine, and I told him that I would get back to him. I called back two days later to set up the appointment. Bill was in a meeting, so I left a message for him with Dominick. The message said that a week from Friday, on March 28th would be great, and could Bill call me back. I never heard back from anyone. When I called again after a week had passed, and it was the day before the possible appointment, Bill had no clue who I was. He had none of my information, and we had no appointment. This put me off, so I decided that they were not the company for me. If they couldn't handle the simple task of returning a call and making an appointment in a professional manner, I did not have confidence that they would do professional work.

I originally hired Sila Heating & Air Conditioning because I purchased a $89 A/C tune-up and inspection deal. The two employees came right on time and proceeded to inspect the indoor components and suggested that they cut open the condensate line to make future cleanings easier and reattach with a coupling. Afterwards, I went outside with them while they inspected the outdoor unit. They pointed out a noise that has been emitting from the unit (which I've noticed since I bought my condo). They said that it was coming from the electrical component that had worn out connectors, which in turn is forcing my unit to go into overtime to properly cool down the indoors. He luckily had the replacement parts on him, which ended up costing an extra $250 or so, but it was well worth it in my opinion to take care of the situation. Since then, the noise has subsided and I do feel that the air conditioner doesn't stay on as long. After all was said and done, the gentleman gave me some advice to keep my air conditioner maintained, which included power-washing the unit to get rid of all the dirt and debris that have built up for years. While I don't have an outdoor source of water to connect to a power-washer, I ended up borrowing an air compressor and after an hour of blasting the dirt out, the unit was clean and free to do it's job efficiently. Overall, I was very happy with the service of Sila and hope to use them in the future for other service needs.

The communication from Sila was great from the start. They contacted me immediately and set up an appointment. A representative showed up on time and performed the tune up in a good amount of time. He informed me that the unit was old and would need to be replaced soon. He gave me a contact a Sila to speak with about purchasing a new unit. I was very pleased with the work that was done and with the sales person I spoke with. I plan on purchasing a new heating system from them soon.

Seemed fine to me. I don't know enough about furnaces to give any kind of intelligent opinion. My husband did not approve of using this company. He felt we should have used the gas company instead, or Holmes Plumbing, whom we have used for many years. But he was not there to see the work, which I thought was fine. Because of his remarks I will not use them again, but I do think they were very prompt, friendly and professional. I saw no reason not to give them all top numbers.

I purchased the deal to get my forced hot air, gas-fired boiler checked, and paid regular price to have the second one checked as well. I hadn't had the systems services in several years. Unfortuately, they discovered damage to the attic unit that posed a significant risk of carbon monoxide leak so it needed to be immediately replaced. Finding out that you need to unexpectedly spend 12k to replace your furnace in the middle of a Polar Vortex is never going to be good news; however, Sila was professional and honest and helped me have confidence that I was making the right decisions along the way. Since I had been planning to install the AC in the Spring anyway, the decision to do it at the same time simply made sense. They sold me high quality systems, did a good installation, and were very careful not to mess up my house. They also made sure that I submitted the paperwork for the rebates and discounts I was entitled to. Overall, I was extremely happy with the service.
Description of Work: Checked both furnaces in my house and discovered serious damage in one of them. Replaced the unit and also installed an AC compressor.

We worked for a few weeks to get all the loan details moving, and the project manager Graham Keohane of Sila Heating & Air Conditioning maintained contact with both my husband and I and the loan reviewers @Mass Save. He had worked w/ the primary loan reviewer before with customers using the Mass Save Home Loan program and was able to expedite the processing. We scheduled immediately upon locating a bank to finance the project for a 2-day install that Graham would be overseeing. It turns out that the 2-man team Graham was in charge of put in some extra hours on the first day and finished the entire install in that single day. I can't be more impressed with the thorough professionalism of all the Sila members we met and the online/phone contacts as well.
Description of Work: Replaced damaged gas furnace and aged air conditioning system (central air). Assisted us in applying for a Mass Save 0% Loan
