I called 3 places for quotes on regraveling my driveway. Sean Farrell is the only one who answered his own phone on my first call, and told me he'd be out to see it the next day, and was there precisely on time. My driveway is like a road, over 500 ft long, it crosses my 1 acre property, it was last regraveled about 15 years ago and it was a mess. Sean told me that he'd level it, tear up the overgrown areas and pave it with the gravel that I chose. He even suggested that to reduce my cost I could order the gravel myself and have it delivered and then he wouldn't need to charge me for his larger truck. I did that and my total cost for the driveway was about $2700. The other quotes I got (including gravel and delivery) were $4000 and over. Sean told me when he could do it, called me the night before and his employee was there by 700am. I left my house at 6am and returned at 4pm to find this beautiful, smooth, level driveway that greatly enhanced my home. After Sean had given me a quote I asked if he could add a third parking space on a fairly level area where I gathered yard waste but didn't landscape it. Not only did he add the space, he added footage by leveling out the old trees, etc that were there. And he rimmed it with a tree trunk that had fallen in my yard. It is beautiful! And prior to Sean saving that space it was an eyesore. My son was home the day this was done and he talked with Sean's employee and found him to be polite, professional and a pleasure to talk to. My son also said he never stopped working from the time he arrived until he left. There was absolutely no mess left behind, you would have thought that this beautiful driveway had always been there. Also, it has since rained heavily and there's no drainage problem at all, the runoff is perfect. .When Sean came to give me a quote I told him I almost didn't call him because his website seemed to indicate that he did very heavy construction work and I thought my job was too small. His reply, "I started out small and I don't forget." I highly recommend Sean Farrell Excavation!

Waterline may have been as old as 1929! Sean Farrell made all arragements with Dig Safe, permit fees and police detail. Dug up old pipe, tackled large tree roots, removed branches from the tree that were in the way, and removed an ENORMOUS rock. Removed the old pipe without breaking it and put in a lovely new waterline. Wonderful clean-up job afterwards, and even put back a row of decorative rocks that they had to move out of the way. The day was hot, but the crew was very professional and worked right along. The price was excellent. We highly recommend Sean Farrell.

I was very impressed with the entire process from start to finish. Upon leaving a message for Sean Farrell, I received a call back within a couple of hours. He was able to drop by my house that evening on his way home from another job, and gave me an immediate estimate, including a very fair price and what to expect in terms of timing. He was very professional and a pleasure to work with. His crew was equally as impressive. They were prompt, professional and hard working. After the job was complete, I received a follow-up phone call from Sean Farrell. He wanted to make sure that I was happy with the job. He removed the cement from the drywell cover and advised me on how to take care of the issue so that I wouldn't have to pay for excavation. No charge! Just incredible customer service and expertise!

Sean's estimate was significantly lower than anyone else's. He came when he said he would. The job was complete when he said it would be. We have had no issues since he did the work. I would use him again and refer him to anyone who needed similar work.

Sean's crew was punctual, friendly, professional, and did everything right. The office staff was also exceptional. Phones were always answered, phone calls were returned, the permit was obtained easily. We thought that after the job was done that there was a problem (which as it turns out there was no problem), and Sean was going to come over and fix it. This is a fantastic company, with the lowest price by the way.... Totally use them if you need your water line replaced!!!!

Sean Farrell Excavating Company did an excellent job replacing our sewer line. His team, led by his very capable foreman Keith and assisted by three other workers, came when promised and finished a difficult job in one day. Because the old sewer line appeared to go under two trees, they excavated a new trench around the two trees, thus saving the trees. They had to dig under a concrete walkway and to excavate up to a depth of 9 feet, encountering some ledge along the way which had to be removed. They repaired the street and sidewalk with asphalt and loamed the grassy area in the front yard. When I told Sean on a Wednesday that our sewer had blocked up again inside a month, he advanced us on his schedule and was there the following Monday. We feel that his price was reasonable. When we informed him on the day after the excavation that a cable to our driveway lights had been accidentally broken, he promised immediately to fix the cable and did so promptly. I would recommend Sean and his company without any hesitation.

Everything went as planned and they did a great job cleaning up the displaced dirt. The only hiccup was that there was a miscommunication about who was going to call dig safe.

Seans Crew was on time, communication was smooth and Sean got back to me within minutes or hours. He used Mofford Forms for the form work and again Skips crew did a great job. The whole foundation took around 2.5 weeks because of some rain we got. They even stumped and trenched for me for free.

Occassional drain pipe back-ups, and the impending sale of our condo led to the requirement to implement a permanent solution to the problem. This was decided over a very short period of time. We contacted 4 firms for estimates and time frame and Sean Ferrall was chosen. The only problem we encountered was confirming the dates of the work within the desired time frame. This wasn't confirmed until the last minute, but it all eventually worked out, and to our knowledge the repair work was well done.

Everything went smoothly and quickly. Less than 4 hours start to finish.

I asked them to be very careful to leave the surveyor marks along one side of the trench because it was the property line. They did an excellen job and stayed several inches in from the surveyor marks. Sean was able to fit the job in the same day I called. His price was excellent compared to another company that I had called. Communication was excellent before and, importantly, after the job, when I had a question. I wish I had more excavation work to do so I could hire them again!

His crew was excellent from start to finish; they started on time and did fabulous work with minimal disruption. The price they quoted us was also excellent. We were thrilled, particularly since they were able to replace the water line by threading the new one through while pulling the oold one out. The only excavation they did was in the street, saving our front lawn and irrigation system from being torn up.

The company did exactly as they promised. No complaints except that they were higher in price than others probably due to the fact that they were one of the few companies bonded with the City of Boston ( which we needed to get oa sidewalk deposit back). They even guarded the wet cement overnight while it dried to prevent vandalism. The crew was considerate and did their best not to damage the existing lawn abutting the sidewalk.

They were punctual and they did what they said they were going to do. They were honest and overall I have nothing bad to say.

We hired Sean Farrell to dig a trench for our new electrical service. Also the price was high, we got even higher quotes from other excavators, suggesting our expectations were probably too low. They provided a quote within 48 hours of request. They were easy to communicate with over the phone and came when they said they would. Had to call once or twice to confirm the actual date of service, since Sean had told me that they were a few weeks behind and I needed the actual date to tell my electrician. As far as I know they took care of everything including permitting, police detail and digsafe. We would use them again.

The work was conducted in an extremely unprofessional manner. The catchbasin that was repaired was replaced with a concrete honeycomb that was too small for the area to be drained. Moreover, when it was installed, it was not connected to existing drainage systems and in fact blocked off the drainpipe that was already in place. Farrell then suggested that we pay an extra several thousand dollars to remove the catchbasin and investigate the problem AFTER they had already installed it improperly! The second catchbasin was installed in an area with a high water table and did not function at all from the time it was installed. With respect to the driveway, Farrell removed some of the areas that were obviously eroded, but the adjacent areas immediately started crumbling and eroding. After the work was delayed due to a storm, Farrell left areas of standing water in our driveway for weeks without even suggesting a solution. To top it all off, the excavation work was carried out without securing the proper permits from the town and probably in violation of conservation bylaws!

I did not hire them. The estimated cost was $3,000.

It went well. They hoped to dig one hole near the street and pull the pipe out. But the pipe broke so they had to dig the entire length of house to street. They did not charge me more for what was a lot more work than expected. My water pressure improved tremendously from this work. My only complaint is that they killed two small shrubs planted next to my house and did some damage to a tree.
