We were in a rush because of a leaking hot water heater. Kerivan Lane came in with the lowest quote of the four companies we priced. We were impressed with their professionalism, especially of the installers. Our job involved quite a lot of plumbing work (six zones) which they did very well on.

Excellent job - customer service worked with me to get the system I wanted, and also resolved a glitch at the end with National Grid with getting the gas turned on in a timely fashion. Installers prompt, completed on time, cleaned up thoroughly.

This is a great company - always responsive to our needs. Technician was on time, introduced himself, went to work right away. Approximately 1/12 hours later, gave me a full explanation of the work and some suggestions for efficiency of the furnace. He was very well informed.

I contacted Kerivan-Lane to obtain an estimate to replace two old oil boilers in a home I am purchasing. They performed the estimate on time and I then requested that they give me an alternate estimate for a different type of heating system. They replied that I should receive the estimate in "a few days". Time went by and I had not rec'd the estimate. When I inquired about the status of the estimate I was told it "would be ready tomorrow or shortly thereafter". A week went by and still no estimate. I emailed stating that I was still awaiting the estimate -- and rec'd no reply. I finally called and talked to one of the owners who was very short with me and inferred that what I was requesting wouldn't work. I asked why I was told that the estimate would be ready weeks ago -- his reply was that "they had a big business to run and didn't have time to do multiple estimates".

On time & very efficient & professional.

Mr. Gangemi was on time, at the beginning of the 8am-12pm window arranged beforehand on the phone. He was unobtrusive and polite. He went to and from the basement approx 4 times and cleaned up after himself. He answered questions and gave a brief overall assessment of the state of the system. Upon leaving, he replaced oil that had been lost as part of to maintenance. The service took approx 1 1/2 hours. Overall as pleasant an experience as one could hope for.

Tony came even ealier than he promised to come. He told me approximately how long it will take which was very accurate. He cleaned up everything, no mess at all. He explained me in detail what he did and how our furnace is.

Tim Aiguganar was very polite and punctual. He was excellent from start to finish.

They were good. They came on time, the work was competent and the price was reasonable. Mr. Tim Aituganou was the one who came over and he was very good and professional.

I found a rust-colored puddle by my water heater last night, called them early this morning, and was told that someone could be there around noon, if I could leave the bulkhead open, to check to see if the water heater was leaking. I went to work, and was surprised to get a call at around 9:30, telling me that someone (Tom) was already there, and he did need to replace the water heater. We agreed on the size to replace it with, and while he was waiting for the heater to be delivered, he started the annual furnace maintenance! I went home to give Tom access to the upstairs. He was great -- really nice, explained everything, and left the cellar cleaner than it was when he started. So, now I have a new water heater, and the annual maintenance on the furnace is already done, and I didn't have to arrange it!

I used Angie's list to find a number of companies to bid out the removal of my 61 year old boiler with a new high efficiency system. Kerivan-Lane gave me the best price amongst the vendors that choose to bid on the work. The boiler has gone from a eye sore to something that I show my friends. Kerivan-Lane did a great job and if you are thinking about replacing your boiler I'd highly recommend these guys.

I was really disapointed with their service.

Kevin, David and Ron provided service beyond anything that I have seen from a plumbing company. The work that was done far exceeded my expectations. David and Ron were Very professional in everything they did. I was well informed about everything they were doing, and why things were done the way they did. The job site was always kept very clean from start to finish. The guys also never appeared to be annoyed when I would keep going down to take a look at the work that was being done. When David and Ron first arrived to start the job, they set very clear expectations on what was going to be done.

I received proposals for this job from four plumbing companies. Kevin McClay, the sales representative from Kerivan Lane, provided the most comprehensive proposal. (For example, three of the four companies which submitted proposals looked at the existing boiler size to determine the size of the new boiler. Kevin took the time to take measurements throughout our house to determine the correct size boiler.) The proposal was comprehensive in that it included all the work needed for the complete job: labor and parts to be supplied by Kerivan Lane, drilling through the concrete foundation for the new gas service and for the direct venting required by the new boiler, removal of the oil tank, removal of the old oil burner and indirect water heater, and labor and materials for the electrical work. Required plumbing and gas permits were included. Kerivan Lane did most of the work themselves; they used subs for the concrete drilling, removal of old boiler and for the electrical work. (Not included in their proposal was the cost of the new boiler, which I purchased through National Grid, which subsidizes the price of high efficiency equipment.) Kevin was very helpful while I was evaluating his and the other proposals. He was very prompt in making an appointment to develop the proposal and responsive when I had questions about his proposal. The cost of the Kerivan Lane proposal initially appeared to be the second highest of the four proposals. However, when I "equalized" all the proposals so that they all covered the same scope of services and equipment, the Kerivan Lane cost was quite competitive. Kerivan Lane began the work soon after National Grid had installed the new gas service to our house. (Gas service had to be installed to our house as part of the conversion from oil to gas heating.) The Kerivan Lane project began on Monday morning and was completed on Friday afternoon. Two Kerivan Lane plumbers worked five days on the project. Mike Forrester was the lead plumber; Phil Halverson was his plumbing partner. They are intelligent, informed, hard working and customer-focused. The Kerivan Lane proposal was comprehensive, as I have said. Still there was a lot of design and detailed planning to be completed before the job could be started. Mike Forrester made an appointment with me to do his own pre-installation inspection on the Thursday before they started the job. The time of year meant that being without heat was not an issue; however, being without domestic hot water is an issue any time of year. Mike planned the project to minimize the time we would be without hot water. Of the five days that the project lasted, we lacked hot water on two mornings, so the interruption to our daily routines was as brief as possible. Mike and Phil coordinated their subcontractors so that there was no down time waiting for the subs to show up. They arranged for the required city inspections. It was a big project that required a lot of planning, coordination and hard work. Mid-way through the project we decided to upgrade from the circulator pump from what had been originally proposed to a more energy-efficient pump. Mike and Phil prompted us to think about a pump approach different from the proposal. This was a good example of why it is beneficial to have plumbers as informed and as customer focused as Mike and Phil. I wish I could post before and after pictures of the old boiler and new boiler installations. The old installation looked like many different plumbers had worked on it during many different decades (because that was its history.) The new installation is well designed, compact and accessible. I can add the same comment about the electrical work. The wiring had been compromised over the years. Kerivan Lane used Tom Zulon as their electrical subcontractor. He cleaned up the old wiring; the new wiring is as well done as the new plumbing. I got to see other members of the Kerivan Lane team in action, because others were involved in the oil tank pumping and removal. They were professional and always as neat and clean as a very messy job allowed. The subcontractors similarly were very professional. For example, it took four strong men to get the old boiler out (estimated to weigh around 700 pounds.) It was removed without causing any damage; as was true throughout the project, everything was cleaned up afterwards. We should not need heat until next fall, so I cannot yet say that the heating is working efficiently, quietly and effectively. I can say that our domestic hot water is working that way. Kerivan Lane, especially Mike and Phil, did a great job for us. I have had the occasion to work with many plumbers (and electricians) over the years, so it is with the benefit of that experience that I say this team is excellent. I recommend them highly.

Everything has been good. I have used them used before. They were very friendly and professional. They have always been quick to respond to my calls.

They seemed to have the best flat rate when compared to other companies. There were a couple of other companies whose prices were lower but the reason I went with them is that they have a plumbing service as well. It was very convenient to have access to a plumber at a rate that was very reasonable. They automatically come in the third week of every month to deliver the oil. They leave the bill in my mail box and I pay them and that was it. I have used their plumbing service a couple of times when I had issues with my furnace. The service was not very impressive. I feel like they probably should have diagnosed the issue that they ultimately fixed the first time they were here. I can say that their oil service is very good.

I recommend everyone to be extremely cautious about their prices. They offer a discount on the price and the price is much higher than anyone in the market. I spent $600 every 3 weeks for the job for the oil. When I questioned them about their prices, they advised they render the best services. I then shopped around and found that even their discounted prices were extremely high than the original price, of the other companies. They are nice people and a good company, but the price of the oil is the highest. I will never use their services in future.

The technician arrived when stated but wasn't too talkative at first. However, he answered all the questions and dealt very honestly with me.
