Description of Work: We had a Mitsubishi mini split air conditioning system installed. The job involved the installation of 2 condenser units, three head units and the associated line sets and electrical work. The pre-sales experience went well. Their price seemed competitive with other prices we were quoted. The crew showed up on the scheduled day at the appointed time. They got the entire system installed that day. Two of the crew came back the next day to address some minor issues, and ensure that the system was working as expected. There were a couple minor issues I pointed out that needed correction. One was corrected on the installtion day, the other within a couple days. I would say the one negative observation I make about tis company is responsiveness after the job was paid in full. I called and left a message about a couple questions I had about the installtion work, after the job was paid in full. It has been several weeks, and I have yet to receive a response. It would be unfortunate if this company, who appears to be relatively new in the mini split A/C industry, fails to establish, and realize the future value,of a reputation of outstanding service. Not returning customers' calls can quickly erode customer satisfaction. These systems are not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. Part of this cost should be to provide outstanding service going forward. I hope Homeworks Energy takes notice of this important customer expectation. I have referred Homeworks Energy to a couple close friends. One is in the process of getting financing and booking a job. I hope Homeworks takes notice of this review and provides better after-sales customer service. I would be unfortunate to lose future business because they are lacking in this area.

Description of Work: My experience with HomeWorks Energy was not good at all, but part of it was my fault so I don't want to be unfair. We paid for an energy audit up front as part of a Big Deal. The owner came out and looked at the property and got the information he needed. We did not hear back from him. After a couple of months, I contacted him multiple times and eventually got an apology and a promise to get us the report ASAP. Again we waited and nothing. Finally, I got another call from the owner saying that the report was almost finished, but he needed to visit the house one more time. I tried to contact him to schedule another visit, but was only able to leave a message. He then got back to me, but by that time, I was busy and frankly frustrated and didn't follow up. Essentially, I paid for the report and ended up spending quite a bit of time tracking the owner down and got nothing in the end.

Description of Work: I purchased an energy audit from Homeworks Energy on Angies List -- first mistake: an energy audit is FREE in Massachusetts if you order it through the electric company. The Homeworks owner was very nice, but clearly overwhelmed by the response to the Angies List coupon and so he spent well over half of his time at my house on the phone with others, or trying to get his computer to work, or something. He did part of the audit, then said he'd send his assistant over to finish with the door blower test and the thermal imaging -- and that he had to leave because he had other customers waiting. The very young assistant came a week later, did the thermal imaging, but didn't realize he was supposed to do the door blower test. I then waited, and waited, and waited, for Homeworks to send me the analysis and proposed contract, and only after numerous calls and emails did Homeworks finally send it. I was more than a little perplexed when the contract/ audit arrived and said that the door blower test had been done -- it had not. The contract price was reasonable, even low, but by then I had no faith in the company. It was also too late into December to schedule another company under the CSG policies. So I had to start all over again this year.

Obviously, this is not the kind of customer service we like to deliver. This report--although dated Dec. 2012--actually covers the period of Oct. 2011. We were new to the MassSave program in Oct. '11, and were frankly a bit overwhelmed by the process. We've since straightened out these customer service issues. The problem came mostly with Angie's List customers who had purchased our Big Deal coupon in April but held onto them till the fall. That coupon entitled the customer to a full IR Cam exam of the house, with narrative report, and a blower door test. This is NOT provided under the no-cost MassSave home energy assessment (HEA). However, by Oct '11, we had transitioned into the MassSave Home Performance Contractor program and were providing the no-cost HEA. For Big Deal customers, I offered either a refund of the $100, or to apply it to weatherization work on their home.

We regret the negative experiences with Energy Auditing. In August we became MassSave auditors and were absolutely flooded with audit requests. Simultaneously there were extreme problems with the roll out of the new MassSave program. A complete train wreck. We were overwhlemed by these issues and clearly dropped the ball in a couple of cases. These issues seem to be largely behind us as the contractor responsible for the problems has dealt with most of the problems. I expect much smoother sailing as we start 2012.
