They had the lowest price. We think they gave us a good deal since we a member's of Angie's List. They sent us the contract online so we could see their terms and that made it easier. They came within a week and completed quickly.

The men arrived promptly at seven a.m. and worked all day until it was dark. They then returned the next morning for a few hours to finish and clean up. They were immaculate, and one man literally went around the yard picking up paint chips and refuse. They were courteous, professional and took pride in their work. We were extremely impressed with the competitive price and service, as well as with their work.

They're excellent. I think this was my third time having a roof put on my home and they were able to do it one day. They brought a team and were meticulous. They had a dumpster here in the morning and everything was thrown away. They cleaned up well and the dumpster was taken away that evening even though it wasn't supposed to be until the next day, but a snowstorm was coming and they were able to arrange to have it picked up earlier.

Mike and his crew arrived in 3 trucks at 6:45 AM ready to work. Within 30 minutes after arrival, the crew set up ladders, scaffolding, protective window coverings, and tarps and were up on the roof removing the old shingles and gutters. I left the house for five hours and when I got back home, 3/4 of the roof was already covered with new shingles, and they had started on replacing the siding on one side of the house. The crew worked very diligently and a crew member was cleaning up as others continued to work on the roof and siding. Prior to starting, the crew chief indicated it may take up to 1 1/2 days to complete the work. My wife and I were absolutely amazed that they had completed the entire job in one day and left after dark. The roof, siding, and gutters look great. The cleanup was amazing with all scraps of old shingles, gutters, and siding picked up and the lawn was clean. We could not be more pleased with our choice of Viola roofing.

This review is way overdue. Mike Viola was one of three roofing contractors we contacted to replace our roof. We had some other issues to deal with which included replacing all gutters, repairing and replacing some siding, replacing some fascia and rake boards, repointing a chimney and adding a chimney cap. Mike was the only one who could provide us with one stop shopping for all our needs. To make it even better he also provided the best price. Mike seemed nonchalant during the estimation process relative to the alternates. But that's kind of his style I guess. It turns out that he's simply much more efficient in the estimation process than his competitors. He provided his quote and he didn't waiver from that even though the project effort increased after the previous roof was removed and the state of the roof decking was revealed. All work was done well and the site was cleaned of all debris. Replacing a roof is a messy process! Mike went above and beyond in ensuring that the work was done well and that our requests were satisfied. He came back on a couple of completion errands before collecting his final payment. I would highly recommend Mike and crew.

Overall the work was completed on time and for the price Mike quoted. Getting a roof replaced in the middle of winter may not have been the best idea, but it was part of the sale of our home and Mike made it work. He came out in late December provided the estimate and scheduled the work. He was done with removing 3 layers of our roof, garage and shed in a few hours and 3 hours later was finished replacing all the same roofs. His crew was very efficient and very clean. My one draw back on Mike's service was that he took a little extra time to repair the chimney, but in the end it was all completed by the date we needed it. Thanks for the great work Mike

Everything went very well. The owner came out and gave us the estimate for the work, and arranged everything to be done on our time table. Their bid was the lowest we resifted. They finished in 1 day, cleaned up everything extremely well and the workmanship was superb.

Overall it went fine. Mike was very responsive. We were not happy with the way they put in the vents originally so he came back right away to fix it. He also said he would come back and fix anything that did not turn out the way we wanted it.

As a direct result of Angie's List recommendations, I contacted three roofers for quotes. The range of pricing was remarkable. As it turns out, Viola was most affordable and had excellent local recommendations from recent jobs. I checked with three. I was impressed with the workmanlike conduct of all who participated and the job was done very forthrightly. Follow up was both comprehensive and timely. I got great materials at a fair price. I watched a lot of the proceedings and there was a clear thoroughness and rhythm to the work. As a part of installing a new roof, the crew re-flashed a chimney, installed new utility caps, removed incorrect edge venting and installed soffit vents along a 40+ ft section of roof. I am pleased by the lack of gamesmanship, which I see often in home repair I have sought. I recommend Mike highly if you want excellent results.

The replacement of the roof went very smoothly. Mike had several roofers work together and the roof was completed in about three hours. I would definitely hire Mike Viola again. No question.

Viola Roofing was 1 of 3 estimates I sought for my roof. In weighing my three options I considered many factors including costs, type of materials to be used, input from the city building permit individuals, timing to do the work, transfer of workmanship warranty, and availability of payment options (e.g. cash, check, credit card). It was a hard decision because Mike was so responsive and I appreciated that effort. I did chose one of the other roofing companies but it wasn't because of a negative factor against Mike or Viola Roofing. I'd still consider using the company.

They did an excellant job of cleaning up afterwards. So far I have had no leaks. The roof looks really nice with the architectural shingles! The roofing job and skylight installation were.very professional! They covered the shrubs to prevent damage. A few small branches were lost and I found a few nails afterwards, but that was a small price to pay for such a suburb job!

Mike's crew showed up promptly in the morning. They worked quickly and efficiently. My entire roof was removed and new shingles installed within a day. They did an excellent job with clean up. We are perfectly happy with our new, great looking roof!

Mike returned my call promptly. We discussed the style, color, and brand of the damaged shingles, although there was a bit of uncertainty regarding the color. I suggested that Mike swing by when he was in the neighborhood to confirm the color. I never did see him, but a few days later, his guys scampered up my roof and made the repair. I would certainly recommend him based on my experience and that of my neighbors.

We have a slow leak in our lower roof that we've had several roofers come to look at with a different diagnosis each time, but the consistent theme was that our flashing is decades old and is probably the source of the leak. Viola Roofing's estimate was very reasonable and they were able to schedule the work as soon as we gave the go ahead. They installed the ice/water shield in the front and back of the house but they replaced the flashing in the upper portion of the chimney rather than the lower. I spoke with the owner afterwards and he sent his worker within two days to repair the correct portion of the chimney. In both cases, they did a great job cleaning and removing debris. I had follow up questions and the owner was prompt in replying and explaining what they did. His final bill was exactly what the estimate was. Overall a very good experience. Our next step is to remove the ceiling under that lower roof to repair from the leaks. That contractor will wait til the next rainfall to confirm that the leakage has been repaired before closing up the ceiling, so we'll know for sure then if that did the trick.

Following Hurricane Sandy, our roof sprung a leak into our attic and other areas had roofing shingles moved out of place. Viola was the only company I could get to respond (understandably, there was a lot of demand after the hurricane). But I was very impressed by Viola's responsiveness and service. They did the repair to my satisfaction (it doesn't leak any more and the misplaced shingles are back in place), they finished the job early, cleaned up completely, and charged me less than I expected. Doesn't get any better than that!

Its a little difficult to judge the quality without having waited a year or two to see how well things hold up regardless of who the provider is. So that part of the assessment is one that is a little tough to judge with any sense of accuracy this early on. That said, I can say that the owner, Mike Viola was excellent at making contact, showing up exactly when he said he would show up, returning messages and emails promptly. Very easy to deal with. The pricing was also very reasonable, and several thousand dollars less than first of the quotes we received. Mike's crew showed up exactly when promised, all of the materials were there and everything around the house was covered with tarps. The foreman was very polite, came to the door and introduced himself, and everything went smoothly from there. Everything was cleaned up before they left and they even raked the yard to make sure there were no nails or debris. So, the overall service and experience was great. I will try to follow up after say a year to report on quality.

I contacted several different roofing companies for a new roof on my barn and garage. I chose Viola due to the reviews I read here on angies list, and his price and work description. I was extremely impressed with the fact they were able to complete the entire job in one day when other companies estimated a week to a week and a half for completion. After being screwed over by a different roofing company to re-roof my house, Mike and his crew were ten times more professional and efficient. I didn't receive any unforseen issue phone calls, they came in did the work correctly and repaired what needed to be repaired and left my yard looking better then it did when they arrived. I could not be happier with the work performed or the level of professionalism Mike and his crew maintained .

I contected Viola because its high ranking. I called and Mike came next day on time giving me an estimate on roof replacement. He was very professional. His estimate spelled out each item clearly and the price is reasonable. I ended up didn't use Viola simply because a local (in town) contractor kept calling and tried very hard to get the business. But Viola's estimate provided us with a proper benchmark. I totally understand why Viola is the highest ranked roofing company in Boston area. I wish it success.

I checked out 5 roofing vendors. Viola's was one of two that were in my expected price range. He originally expected to do the work about a month after we contracted his services. About a week later, he called to say that he had an earlier opening, and his crew arrived to do the work 3 weeks earlier, which was fine to me. They completed the work in record time! Arriving around 7:30 AM, they were done by 1 PM the same day. The roof looks great! Moreover, I asked Mike Viola to make some time and meet with me to go over the work, since I was not home the day that his crew performed the project. He did meet with me a couple of weeks later, and reviewed everything that was done. We were very satisfied with the new roof. I would recommend this roofing company to anyone!

A+++ When I find an excellent contractor - I am torn between keeping them to myself and singing their praises ! In the spirit of Angie's List-I must sing their praises, since this is where I found them. I had a very large and daunting roofing job that was past needing to be done! After getting estimates from many -many roofing companies-I went with Viola roofing and am very glad that I did. This was an outstanding company to work with-we had many challenges-they rose to every challenge. The estimate I was given for the job did not change at completion-and I was kept informed every step of the way by Mike Viola and his team. I can not stress enough that this was a challenging and difficult job-Mike completely took the stress off my shoulders and took on the task head on without wavering. We have a beautiful new roof,gutters,downspouts,fascia,etc. and upon completion my yard and my neighbors yards were cleaned . Outstanding! The real test came with hurricane Sandy- I am up on a hill with open ocean exposure for wind-the roof is as great as the day it was installed. Pat - Boston,ma.
