Viola Roofing & Contracting

Viola roofing came to give me an estimate in a very timely manner. Mike was very professional and explained all of the details of the work to be done. I had a signed contract mailed to me with the promiss of work to commence within 4-6 weeks. At about 5 weeks out, Mike called me to tell me that he was having materials and a dumpster delivered the next day and that the work would be performed on the following day. Per my request, he actually ordered a larger dumpster for me as I had additional items that I wanted to get rid of. As promise, materials arrived one day and the massive crew the next. My roof is approximately 1700 sq ft. The crew arrived at 7am and finished by about 1pm on the same day. I was amazed at how efficient they were. They stripped the entire roof, installed drip edge, water barrier, ridge vents, soffitt vents, a rake board that needed to be replaced and of course brand new shingles. The clean up was amazing. I just walked around my house and you can barely tell that they were even here. Highly recommend this outfit

Work hard for your money? we do! Unexpected roof repairs didn't bring any smiles to our stressed out faces. We have had more than our share of interaction with contractors over the years. Most of which I would add have not been the most pleasant of experiences. Upon completion of the roof repair I paid one of Mike Viola's workers and found myself smiling. Odd you think? Well, here's why. Mike responded to my phone call for an estimate quickly. He told me he'd be at my home at 11:30 am to take a look. The door bell rang at 11:30. Mike was pleasant and professional, I showed him the area of the roof that was of concern. He gave me an estimate of 500.00. My wife and I scheduled several other contractors to come out and estimate the work to be done. I will not mention any of the other roofing contractors in my review although I will say that some wanted to retire off of this job, some didn't bring a ladder to estimate the work and I still leave the light on at night for some of them to return as promised. Bullet points - Mike arrived on time to estimate the work - Mike was courteous and professional - He held true to his estimate of 500.00 - His crew was prompt and professional - The work area was well cleaned - I believe Mike is an honest hard working individual who doesn't try to retire off of someone else's misfortune. - I smiled when I paid them because it's refreshing for someone to do what they say they will do for the price they say the will do it for. Not to mention the excellent quality of work performed. - Final advice, when you find a reputable hard working contractor in any discipline, KEEP HIM!

Couldn't ask for more. Mike, the owner, is a low-key professional who completely explained his approach to the job without any hard sell for extras. He was totally responsive to questions, his estimate (which he stuck to) was very competitive and the waiting period was less than expected. He and his crew installed the roof in a day. It looks great and when we got home in the evening, the property was cleaned up so thoroughly that you couldn't tell the crew had been there. Highly recommended.

I interviewed 3 roofers and Viola roofing's quote is on the lower part. Together with the reviews from Angie's list, I called Mike and asked him to come and talked the details. Then we signed the contract. Mike said our project was scheduled after 4-5 weeks. Right after 4 weeks, I got email from Mike that they would come on Monday to replace the roof. The shingles came the previous Friday. That Monday morning around 7am, they came, about 10 workers. It was really hot, about 92 degree. They finished the work on the same day and cleaned the area nicely. Later I noticed there was some scratch on the siding (Turned out some bird poop later). I emailed Mike about it and he responded soon that someone would come out to check. On the day the workers came, Mike emailed me in advance. It turned out it was some bird poop. Thanks to the worker who climbed the ladder and got rid of it. I am very satisfied with the service they provided. So far so good...

They responded promptly, answered all of our questions, and scheduled the work on our timeline.

We lost some roof shingles and had leaks in the house during the storms, we called a couple of roof contractors, and received the bids. We compared price and value of what these quotes were, and decided to go with Viola roofing. The crew was unbelievable, they were here on time, they did exactly what the contract dictated, they cleaned everything after themselves and more. The job was completed in less than a full day. We could not be happier. Great job.

We had a wonderful experience with Viola Roofing Siding. We own 1950's Cape that has not had any attention in at least 30+years. The roof was in poor shape, most of the trim was rotting, the siding was dented aluminum. Just an eye sore. We were introduced to Viola Roofing and Siding through Angie's List. We are so grateful. We obtained 3 bids for the job, two were from local contractors that were recommended by neighbors. Obtaining an estimate was simple and prompt. I met with Mike's North Shore Foreman who was very professional, easy to talk to and able to answer all my questions. The bid came shortly thereafter and was comprehensive. Viola's bid was not the highest but not the lowest either. Their timeline for completing the job was the shortest (estimate 5-8 days) Job was completed in approx 11 days. We were given 4 week timelines from other contractors. Based on Angie's recommendation we decided to go with Viola Roofing and Siding. The crew was amazing!! What we witnessed from his entire team was pure perfection. The roofing crew, siding crew and painting crew worked proficiently. They put in tremendous effort even on two of the hottest days of this year (90 degree temps) and working 11-12 hour shifts. They cleaned up everyday and were friendly. I have three very curious young children and they were able to work around them as well. We have received outstanding reviews from our neighbors. We highly recommend this company. When the time came to replace our leaky asphalt-shingle roof, naturally we turned to Angie's List for recommendations on who to hire. The reviews for Viola Roofing were outstanding, and now we know why. From the moment we emailed Mike Viola to request an estimate for roof replacement until the moment we handed him a check for the balance due, it was a pleasure to work with Viola Roofing. Mike and his team are punctual, professional, thorough, and fast. Their pricing was very reasonable, and their contract addressed all of our questions and concerns. They had their materials and a dumpster delivered to our house the day before they were scheduled to replace the roof, so the moment they arrived they put up their ladders and got to work. Best of all the entire job, including clean-up, was completed in about six hours, on one of the hottest days of the year! We were especially appreciative of the care Mike's team took with the rhododendron in our front yard and with the planters in our back yard, and we were very impressed with their clean-up. We were also pleased that Mike stopped by a few days after the job to do a final walk-through. Most importantly, we've had a LOT of heavy rain since Viola Roofing replaced our roof, and we're pleased to report that our attic is dry as a bone! Thank you, Mike, for a job well done. Mike and his team were absolutely brilliant! We just purchased our first home and it needed a new roof and gutters badly. Mike came right out and gave an estimate. It may not have been the lowest one we received, but it was certainly the most detailed. He included everthing from materials to disposal to the permit. I felt comfortable that I knew exactly what the estimate included. He also took the time to discuss everything with me on the phone and answer any questions I had. On the day the job was scheduled, his team was right on time (actually, most of them were there early). I was impressed at how they wasted no time in getting to work. His team appeared to be very efficient and they were very polite. I have 3 small children who were fascinated by what was happening and the crew were very nice about waving and saying hi when the kids called to them from the windows. A crew member took us around the house to show us what was happening, what was/had been done and to make sure we were happy with it and/or had any questions. There was a patch of siding that needed repair and I had asked Mike to include that into his estimate. He was kind enough to tell me that it was an easy repair and included it at no extra charge. During the roof work he noticed another piece of siding that needed repair and included that as well. He actually forgot about the siding on the day of the roof job, called to apologize and sent someone out the very next day (for work he wasn't charging me for!) The entire roof job was done in one day and it is beautiful. They did a great job of cleaning up - after the dumpster was removed there was no sign that they were there (excpet an awesome new roof!) Even our neighbors have commented on what a great (and quick) job Mike and his team did. After all of the work was done, Mike called a few days later to make sure that we were happy and to see if we had any questions or concerns. He was true to his estimate - no hidden or surprise fees or costs. He was even nice enough to let us break up the last payment due into two parts. We are VERY happy with Viola Roofing - they were professional and did a solid, beautiful job. We will definitely be using them again and will (and have already) recommend them to friends and neighbors.

Entire job was done in half a day on Saturday, they forgot to add a box vent and to finish a corner of our porch overhang (which was shingled wrong before and left an exposed area once Mike's guys did it correctly). Mike called to check on job, we sent him a pick of the exposed porch corner and he had a guy there the next day to fix it and add our box vent. Incidentally found a torn screen from the the work and he fixed that too same day. Excellent customer service and very responsive. He was also our best of three quotes. Would highly recommend!

Viola Roofing & Contracting gave me a very reasonable quote. They haven't started work yet though. The estimates were very competitive and they seem to be a decent bunch so I am waiting to see how it works out. They gave the quote to me about three weeks ago. For the roof I think it was about $6,000. The siding and windows were separate items. The process was fine. He showed up when he said he would. He got right back to me and we made an agreement when I compared it with the competition and am just waiting for them to get back to me with the windows and he's going to try and come in and do it all as one, one job, get it all done at one time so I'm not waiting around.

Mike was very responsive and responded to all my emails in a timely manner. His associate Brian was the one who came out and gave the quote and did the work and was very nice. On the day of the work I was comfortable being able to leave for work knowing that everything would be done when I got home, and it was. Only one thing I would have changed. Mike told me he'd be able to do it in 3 weeks but after 1.5 weeks he emailed saying they would be there the next day. It was great that he was able to do it sooner but I would have liked to have been able to plan better. A very minor complaint for a great job done!

We needed a new roof as it was probably more than 15-20 year old and had double layers of shingles in places. We had originally planned to paint the house first and then get a new roof, but we decided to do the Roofing because of the double layer of shingles. Mike and his team were extremely professional and great to work with. He was willing to drive out to meet very quickly despite his busy schedule and gave the estimate on site. He explained things very clearly, which was helpful as this was our first time replacing a roof. The crews arrived on early AM and completed the job as scheduled in one day, and all of the mess was cleaned up as soon as the project was finished and the dumpster was promptly taken away. The new roof looks amazing. I'm confident this roof will last us a long time. I will highly recommend Mike Viola and his team for friends and family. Job well done!!!

I live across the country from my rental house in MA, and did all of this work through e-mail communications and photos. The owner Mike coordinated the visit for the estimate with my renter. While Mike's estimate was not the cheapest, it was the most comprehensive and he displayed the most professional attitude. The work was scheduled for a few months after the bid was accepted, in order to facilitate the ordering of materials. He warned my renter to remove attic storage items and wall hangings throughout the house to avoid damage during the work. The work, except for the garage doors which ended up on backorder, took a couple of weeks total, including time off for bad weather. Mike's crew was professional, Mike was responsive to any questions from me or my renter, and they kept the lot very clean. The estimate was exactly what we were charged, which was not what we were used to. It has become more common for additional charges to be added as a job progresses, but not with this contract. It became obvious that we would not be charged extra for small items when my renter let me know that the storm windows had not been replaced, but were in fact stacked under one of the upper decks. When I contacted Mike to ask when they would be replaced, he replied that some of the storm windows had required replacement, and that he was waiting for them to come in before reinstalling them all. He also rehung the address plaque on the front of the house and a few other small things that my renter was worried about doing herself, with no fuss and no extra charges. I had to ask for a final invoice, which came without a date or signature of any kind, but that something so minor is my only complaint reflects the exemplory service received. I would not consider using anyone else for this type of work again. It is a shame that this level of service has become so hard to find.

They were very responsive and came out to view the job. They were very professional, but provided me a quote that was high. I decided to use a contractor who I have used for other work.

Viola Roofing did a fantastic job putting on my new roof! I'm so happy with their service. Mike, the owner came & gave an estimate, and said he could have his crew do this job in a day. The following week, sure enough, the crew showed up on Friday am & the job was done by 5p. The crew were hard working & professional. They cleaned up after their work. I am recommending this company to anyone who is in the market for roofing needs.

This gentleman was on time, friendly and seemingly knew what he was talking about. I certainly would not hesitate to work with Mike and his crew - I called him initially because of all the great reviews. I did not hire them - or anyone else - but only because, I am 'on hold' while I figure out my own personal finances. I will definitely contact Viola's again when I'm ready to do the work.

We're scheduled to get new gutters installed to the back of our home. We think things will go great!

We contacted several roofers. Mike Viola responded promptly and arrived on time for the appointment. He explained the process and answered our questions. He recommended that we remove any paintings, mirrors, etc from the walls, explaining that repeated vibrations might cause them to fall. He also recommended that we remove any fragile objects from our attic storage space. He provided an estimate that day.After reviewing all proposals, we accepted his estimate and sent a deposit. He returned a signed agreement, estimating that the work could be scheduled in a few weeks. At that time, he called to see if he could install the roof the next day, but we still had snow on roof and property. He said he would call again in a couple of weeks and kept his word. His crew arrived before 7 am on the agreed-upon date and started work on time. They worked throughout the day, breaking for lunch, and completed the job at 4 pm. Mike arrived after 11 am. He pointed out the crew foreman and told us to talk with the foreman or to call Mike himself if we had any questions.While we could have sought out the foreman if necessary, we would have preferred that he introduce himself at the beginning of the job since Mike wasn't present. At the end of the day, the foreman walked with me around the house to inspect the work. The crew was busy cleaning up; a few were on their hands and knees, checking for debris on the lawn and shrubs. They left the property in good condition. Mike called the next day to see if we had any questions.

Overall experience was great. Mike was very sweet from the getgo. He was responsive and gave me a fair quote. He came when he said he would and was done in the same day. I was very pleased with how the entire experience was. There's not much to tell since the experience was fairly uneventful (which is a very good thing!). I would definitely use Mike in the future and recommend him to anyone. The other night it rained for a long time, and I was a bit worried about our new skylights (the old ones leaked). Bone dry! So I was very relieved and please with my choice to go with Mike and his team.

I contacted Mike via email. He came right out and checked the roof without me even having to be home. He quickly sent me an email and very fair quote to do the work. In fact, he was able to do the work without me being home. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

Viola's crew was on time (both days that they were performing work and when they came to provide an estimate), very professional, and efficient. The quoted price for the work was in line with the other quote I received for the same job. Overall, I would very much so recommend Mike Viola's services.

We called Viola and several other roofers the day after a storm ripped off some of our shingles. A Viola representative came the next day to inspect the roof and give a quote. They inspected the whole roof, not just the part with obvious damage. Before they left, they put a temporary patch in place, even though they didn't know that we'd end up doing business. That, of course, made it nearly certain that I would do business with them -- thanks! They gave me quotes for several different options, and all seemed reasonable. They completed the job in one day, it looks great, and they cleaned up perfectly. I have not complaints. They are very prompt and professional.
