Viola Roofing & Contracting

We bought our house about 5 months ago and were told by the home inspector that we'd need to replace the roof in a year or two. Two months into it, there was a leak. We aren't in the position to put a new roof on, so we searched for a roofer who would patch the area to buy us some time. After dealing with another company who did all they could to make us do the entire roof, I was pleased to find Viola Roofing. Brian called me a few hours after I'd left a message...which is more than I can say for several other companies that never called me back. He came out the next day, located what he thought the problem was, and answered all the questions I had. Within a few days Mike emailed me an estimate. After signing the contract he said it could be up to 3 weeks, but they came about a week later. I wasn't home at the time, so there were some questions I had. There were also a few shingles that didn't look flush with the rest of the roof...it was a patched area so I wasn't expecting perfection, but still concerned. Brian came a few days later to secure the shingles better and look at another area of our roof I was concerned about. He even let me pick his brain about some electrical issues we're having - love him! Now to start tucking away to save for the new roof in a year or two...glad to have found Viola Roofing and looking forward to having them back again.

Mike and his crew were great. They showed up on time and were very professional. They cleaned up after themselves totally. When I had an issue with a couple of things they totally changed things to satisfy me. Prior to my ownership of this home, there were many attempts to fix a problem with leaks on one side of the house. Mike noticed that there was no drip edge installed (my home inspector and two other contractors who came to look at the job didn't pick this up). He fixed the issue without having to redo the roof and it hasn't leaked since, not even today when we are having a strong nor'eatser. I also asked Mike if they could remove a large satelite dish from my roof. This was not part of the original quote. Not only did they remove it and caulk the holes, they took it away at no extra charge. I highly reccommend Mike and plan to call him again for some other issues I've discovered. He's a really nice and honest person.

Mike's team did a great job - on time, efficient, friendly and explained everything thoroughly. Provided before and after pictures of the roof (we have a flat roof so it's impossible to see without climbing up there). We plan on using this company for any future repairs.

The work was scheduled to begin in early September but they started on 8/24/14... When Viola came out to give us an estimate he was the only person who actually took out a ladder and looked at the roof. House had 3 layers of roofing and is a large house. He answered all of our questions and was very pleasant and very professional. The roof is complete and I have to say this crew was amazing they were working machines. They arrived promptly at 7:00 and did not leave until dark. picked up each night and thoroughly cleaned on the last day. Roof looks great. Hope all is well after first rain. Would highly recommend Viola roofing.

Mike came and bid the job in May and his bid was the lowest plus he provided plenty of detail about exactly what his crew would do and how they would do it. We had to wait a bit for him to be able to get to our job but he gave us a date by which he would get to our job and came right when he said he would. His crew then stayed on the job until it was done, even though it required working an extremely long day (8am through to after dark around 8:30pm) plus coming back another day to finish up...the crew were pleasant and efficient, each of the 7 men had a specific job and handled the work smoothly without getting in each other's way. After ripping all the old shingles off the house, they cleaned them up thoroughly so virtually everything around the house was as good as before they arrived....they installed all new flashing around the chimney and even added a vent needed over the laundry room. Mike arranged for a carpenter to come after they were done to case in the window which was also done very nicely and sent a man back to add one piece that was missing plus bring a pole needed for opening the ceiling window....we are very satisfied and would use Mike and his team for any roof related work...we highly recommend him!

Our roof replacement project has been the smoothest and trouble free project we have experienced in a long time, perhaps ever. All contract negotiations were done with Mike Viola prior to the work and he was responsive, courteous and professional. His price was reasonable and towards the lower end of what other contractors had quoted. We opted for GAF's "Golden Pledge" warranty for our project so that eliminated several contractors from the bidding process who are not certified as GAF Master Elite Contractors. The work was done on schedule and was done well.... Our roof has not leaked in 3 months and GAF warrants the work! We highly recommend Viola Roofing, without reservations, for roofing and skylight replacements.

Mike called back within a few days and agreed to come out and access the job. He arrived at the time we agreed and inspected the roof. Mike offered to replace the roof cap for the stack pipe on the spot for a very reasonable price. He worked very carefully and cleaned up as he went along. He did a fine job, and I expect the roof cap to last the rest of the life of the roof. When the time comes to replace the roof shingles, the first person we'll turn to will be Mike.

It was an altogether painless experience. When asked for an estimate they set up an appointment and came exactly when scheduled. I found their bid very competitive with others I had received and their description of what they were going to do and the materials that they were going to use was very detailed. I gave them the standard 1/3 deposit and we set up a date on which they would do the work. They estimated that they would finish in one day -- something that I didn't believe was possible given the area of roofing that had to be replaced. They called me about a week ahead of time to confirm that they were coming on the day we had originally agreed upon. The day before a truck came with the materials on a couple of pallets and stored them where I indicate -- out of the way of foot and automobile traffic around my house. That night someone from Viola brought all of the ladders and equipment that was needed. The following morning a dumpster and a crew from Viola arrived and began setting up the ladders. I don't know how many men worked on the roof but it was a large crew working on multiple areas of the roof simultaneously. As promised, the large crew finished by the end of the day (it had started at 7:00 and they worked until about 6:00), cleaned up the entire area, removed and packed away all of the ladders and left. Incredibly, with as messy a job as removing roofing shingles and tar paper and replacing it all is, the area around the house was spotless and there was virtually no sign that any work had been done, other than a brand new roof where a failing one had been previously. The following morning the dumpster was quietly removed. I recommend them without any reservation or hesitation to anyone who needs a full or partial roof restoration. They are the height of professionalism and are very competitive. If and when I need more roofing work done I will certainly use them again.

Viola completed this job in just one day. The roofers worked for over twelve hours to get the job done. We have had some serious rain storms since the roof was replaced and the house has been dry. Very pleased with Viola and would strongly recommend them.

quote was middle of range. We had used this contractor before to do some roof repairs and they were prompt and very responsive then. We called them right away when we decided to have a new roof installed. The only reason we called others in was because it took so long to get a response from this contractor.

First, Mike was very prompt to respond to an inquiry about the possibility of providing an estimate for a repair of the roof. He scheduled a time to assess the job and showed up as he promised. After the initial inspection he promised to provide a written estimate within a few days. Again, he was prompt with an emailed estimate, which in my opinion was very reasonable. As it was a small job, he couldn't commit to a particular time frame, but estimated he would be able to get to it within about 3 weeks from the time he received the signed contract estimate. Approiximately 2 weeks later, he and his crew arrived and performed all the work as agreed. They left the jobsite neat and clean with little evidence that they had been there at all. Overall, I am very happy with the way this work was performed.

The job is delayed one day due to weather. Mike and his team are professional and responsive. The work is done in one day and look great. Pretty good and worth recommendation. The clean up of nails is ok for the lawn but there are some hanging inside the bush which break my son's leg later, which is a general problem.

All components of the job, from estimate, to scheduling, to delivery of materials, delivery and pickup of dumpster, cleanup, etc. were handled smoothly, professionally, competently, and respectfully. The estimate provided was lower than others and slightly higher than one other but the reviews from Angie's List and the BBB membership swayed our choice. We were extremely pleased with the work, the crew (who showed up exactly at the time we anticipated), and the length of time it took to do the job. There was a small glitch with one piece of gutter and they came back the next day to finish the job. We were impressed with the care they took with the plants, the yard, and other things, even taking the bulbs out of our floodlights! We have a bat house with resident bats and they were not disturbed. After the job was done, the crew swept the yard with a magnet to pick up all metal and our yard was left cleaner than before they came. We have already provided their information to neighbors who were impressed. Communication throughout was excellent and Mike Viola followed-up to see if we had any questions or concerns. We were even happy with the care that the person who supplied the dumpster took in placing and removing it from our driveway. Highly recommended!

I am very happy with the finished job, with the price and with the professionalism in which this job was performed. He said he would finish in one day and he did. His crew arrived promptly and went right to work. Mike asked a few questions to assure things would proceed as I wanted. There were no surprises in the pricing. The clean up afterward was very thorough. My neighbors were satisfied with the treatment of their property. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

ok, we had a roof leak. 2 people came out and were paid to fix it but it was never fixed. called mike and 2 other people for estimates. both other people wanted to replace the entire section and further of roof because they said there was no way to find the leak. this was going to cost about $4,000. mike viola came out and said oh, he thought he knew right where the leak was and he would put a rush on it. i thought, well we will try it and who knows what will happen. to our pleasant surprise, mike had the leak completely fixed for a few hundred dollars right away and on the first attempt. this is a smart, nice, HONEST, contractor and we are so appreciative of what he did for us! thanks mike!

I was impressed with the service I received from the first phone conversation with Mike. He was extremely responsive to my calls, and patiently and thoroughly answered all of my questions. On the day of the job, the crew arrived early and were complete within just a few hours. Everyone was so friendly and professional, and they left the outside neater than it was before the work was done.

Even though they do not do Spanish tiles they got back to us very quickly and gave us the name of another company servicing such roofs. Very much appreciated and great professionalism.

Mike emailed us right away and set up a time to come look at the roof. He gave us the estimate of the cost and the work that needed to be done. Remove existing roofs and debris from property into dumpster, which they provided. Replace any rotted boards. Install GAF weather watch ice and water shield. Install GAF shinglemate moisture barrier. Install drip edge. Install GAF new shingles. Install ridge vent and ridge caps. Install new pipe flanges. install new lead flashing on chimney and cricket on chimney. Clean up the driveway and lawn and perform magnetic sweep for nails. I had approx. 6 other estimates and Mikes was the most reasonable and we liked that he even guaranteed his workmanship for 10 years. They came on the 18th put the tarps up and started ripping all the old roofing off. They started at approx. 7:15 am by 4:30/5:00 they were completely done. My yard was cleaned up. Even looked better then before they started. We are very happy with our new roof.
