Response from RC Hardwood Floors
Hopefully, our past reviews on actual work done will be enough, however, this customer’s post regarding not returning calls, and not meeting scheduling date are 100% untrue. We actually take our work schedule very seriously as we know every customer’s individual schedule is important. It is a huge inconvenience to have floors done as we always tell customers, but the outcome is well worth it, especially with the proper planning. We actually scheduled this gentleman’s project two months before, had him sign a contract stating that we would arrive to do the work when we agreed upon doing it. The date was actually decided upon in an email, not actually on the contract, but was agreed on none the less. At that time we told the member in order for us to come in and sand and refinish and/or patch your floors, the room has to be completely empty. Where we were also scheduled to do patchwork, the walls and drapes needed to be down as well, as though our sanding procedure is dust free, the need to saw through the damaged flooring and use of a table saw in the room we are working on, is not dust free. It was our understanding the room was going to be 100% empty. The day of the scheduled job, we called to let the member know we were on our way and he basically told us we could not get into the property on that day and to do it the next day. This is a very busy season for us, and this week in particular was jam packed, but we agreed to come on the following day to try and accommodate the member, again, reiterating that the room needs to be empty and that we were not able to move furniture, with exception to any large pieces he might need help moving. He did not mention needing help at that time. So on the following day when our installer arrived alone, to a locked up house, he peered into the window and noticed that none of the furniture had been moved at all. With two days now past his scheduled start date, we emailed the member that due to the inability to enter the house or begin work, as the room was not empty, we would need to reschedule his project to a later time. Obviously, he was not pleased, but hopefully future customers will respect the decision we made to move on to another customer who was patiently waiting and prepared for our arrival. He claimed that he had hired someone to move his furniture at 10 am, and that he was actually there helping move the furniture until 10:30. However, we were scheduled between 10 and 11, we were there at 10:00am, the house was not only locked up but nothing had been moved out of the room in question, and there was nobody in or around the property at that time. He claimed our installer was lying. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and even offered to come back the following day, to complete his job and move on, if not, we would gladly return his deposit. He declined our offer to come back and requested his money back, which we did sending it certified via US Post to be sure he received it in a timely manner. His claims of us not honoring a schedule are false. His claims that we would need to go to court for him to get his deposit are false, and his claims of us not returning phone calls are absolutely false. Pretty much everything he posted here regarding the job he scheduled and then cancelled, are false, and again, I hope our past reviews overshadow this customer’s lack of professionalism and business skills. We wish the member the best of luck in all his future endeavors and hope he is able to find someone who has a more flexible and available schedule for his own flexible project time frame.
