From initial contact through work completion, everything went great!

The experience went smoothly from start to finish. They were responsive to my first contact after purchasing the Angie's Big Deal. I offered three different sets of 3 days for dates. They selected one, and stuck with it. They confirmed via email the day before, and called the day of, when they were within a hour of our house. Workers (two the first day; one the second and third days) were efficient and professional. They cleaned up quite well. (I still had to wipe fine dust off cabinet fronts, windowsills, and open shelves, as one might expect, but there was relatively little dust. The only suggestion I had to make was related to items they left sitting on the sidewalk in front of out condo on a residential street with some traffic from school children. The workers took some items out of their van to get sanding equipment, etc., out for work. One item left out on top of some other times appeared to be a mat knife. I brought this to their attention and they immediately returned to the curb to put things back in the van. Workers were informative about how long we should wait before walking on the floor after each day's work, and they put a fan in the kitchen window to help the treatment dry and to rid the house of the poly odor (not too bad, really). We are happy with how the floors look in each room. The flooring was old, and now it is clean, bright, and charming! Would definitely use the company again.

The owner of RC Hardwoods and one of his assistants performed the work and did a terrific job. They got the job done quickly and with a minimum of disruption to our lives. The results were that our floor was restored to it's original (or even better) condition and beauty. The blending of the refinishing with the older finish was undetectable. Only complaint was that the process produced more dust than we had expected...but when we pointed that out to Richard (the owner) and his assistant, they immediately went to work cleaning up the excess dust and, at the end of the job, there was no trace of extra dust anywhere in our home! We'd hire RC Hardwoods back in a heartbeat.

My whole experience with this company was excellent. They were very prompt with their emails and phone calls. My wife and I had just bought a house and were facing time constraints because of our previous lease. We wanted to the work to start right away so that we could move in as soon as possible. They were able to start exactly when we wanted them to - a huge plus. Everything happened on time as they said it would. It took three days for the whole job. The floors were really showing their age before, but they look like a million bucks now! We couldn't be more pleased!

There was an immmediate response to the initial purchase and an appointment for about 2 months later at our request. We had agreed to an extra premium since it was a kitchen and wanted to discuss the need for extra coat of poly as it was a high traffic area. There was a snag over agreed upon price which was quickly resolved with discussion with Richard. Three trips total were made to our house. The website is informative in care of floors newly done and Richard was helpful with continuing care of floors. Renee was very quick to respond to any emailed queries. We are pleased with the outcome and the floor looks great!

Great job. Excellent before-service experience. Renee was great to work with us on a move in date and some other scheduling issues. Richard and his crew arrived on time and got to work. They seemed relaxed and happy to be at work. Who can say that anymore? They did a nice job and CLEARLY take great pride in their work. The took care of all the little details and seemed truly pleased about the result. I surely was. Recommend with two thumbs up!

Floor #1 was finished to a smooth, shiny surface. Floor #2 was finished to a dull scratchy surface;the scratchiness due to a residue between the floor boards.

RC Hardwood Floors was extremely professional responding to my email informing them of the purchase of the coupon; setting up a appointment; and answering all my questions. They told me the exact cost per additional square foot for sanding and refinishing over the 250 square feet. When they needed to move the job back by one day, they informed me in advance to ask if they could change the date. They even recommended a furniture moving company. They told us that it takes 30 days for the finish to cure and that the area rugs should not be moved back for a month. The job was finished yesterday. The floor refinishing was dustless and much too our delight there REALLY was no dust created and the house is immaculate. We still haven't walked on the floor and we our following their instructions on when to move the furniture and rugs back into the room. The room does smell from the three coats of polyurethane but it is nothing that we can't live with. The floor looks great. I would highly recommend this company.

This was a wonderful experience. The office staff was prompt and courteous. The flooring staff were as well. They worked hard and fast and did an excellent job.

I responded to your email re a big coupon event to refinish the floors in a large room at approximately half the ordinary price of such a job. The office staff (Renee) has been responsive by email in setting up appointments and responding to questions. However, today the second appointment they set up with me has fallen through. I paid in advance and would like a refund. The following email I sent to the company describes the situation:I am distressed and disappointed that this is the second appointment you have set up with me that has fallen through. Last time I got a late cancellation call. Today I did not even get a phone call. Each time I have cancelled other commitments in order to be here at a time you said was good. Richard and crew fit us in on the day of our move into our new house. They showed up when they said they would, schlepped their equipment through the chaos (movers, cable guy, dogs, boxes and trucks everywhere, etc.) and got right to work. They came back twice after that to apply the remaining coats and the floor looks gorgeous! One thing you have to know about Richard: he sings, LOUDLY. In my very first report, I indicated it was a good thing that my beagle was deaf; however, given how much our 'hearing' dog liked Richard and his crew, I may have to amend my criticism - he sings well but I still wouldn't encourage him to quit his day job (if he did, who would do our floors!?). This is the 3rd time we have used RC Hardwood and wouldn't call anyone else. All of the staff are fantastic to deal with. They are friendly, professional and give straight information regarding the project. We were so happy that they were able to accommodate our crazy move schedule (Thanks Renee!). We have always and continue to highly recommend their work.

Appointment was easily made. Rep. came and looked over the job to be done and we set a date. The work was very well done, on schedule, and with fine result. Another, rather pricey, company came later to do painting. They also do floors, so I asked their representative his opinion of the floor refinishing. He said it was a very good job, and when I told him what I paid, he congratulated me and said his company could not have done it at that price.

Floor was damaged by a kitchen contractor. They repaired it professionally, floor looks great.

It went like clockwork! Richard visited soon after I called, and quickly gave me an estimate of $575. We set a mutually convenient date for about three weeks in the future. I received an invoice for the quoted amount, and mailed the required 50% of the payment. He showed up on the agreed date, took about 3.5 hours to install the floor, and arranged for the finishers to arrive about a half hour later to lay the first two coats. They returned the next morning for the final sanding and coat, I paid the balance owed, and the floor looks beautiful. I'd have gladly paid the full price (which seemed like a very fair amount, given the labor involved), but I was quite pleased when Richard honored a 10% Off Angie's List coupon without the slightest hesitation. He and his finisher were real pros, and they were a pleasure to do business with.

I called this company to make the appointment and was told that kitchen floors normally costs more, I clarified, "more than the Big Deal price", and was told "yes". It took this company a long time to even get back to me. They were very indifferent in dealing with me.

Saw coupon offer on Angie's List and contacted the vendor to get details about what the coupon would cover. Renee was very responsive to all of our questions, and we arranged a quote for the actual work. Work took place ~1 month after the quote; it took 3-4 days and was exactly how it was described in terms of time, noise, smell, etc. Not much dust at all (they did a good job minimizing it). They were careful moving the equipment upstairs -- no dings -- and the floors look great. Very satisfied.

". From estimate to completed project, service people were courteous, prompt and fastidious. Their product is gorgeous. One caution: plan ahead for packing and moving your stuff out of their way; and they'll instruct you about how long for finishing--depending on weather/humidity, etc...

They did a good job but it ended up costing a lot more than the big deal price.

They were on time, on spec and did awesome work. Absolutely no complaints and I will recommend Richard to everyone (in fact he'll do my parents house next).

Richard came and refinished our floor (just over 200sqft) and did a fantastic job. There was a bit of patching/repairing required and Richard kept me informed throughout and also did a fantastic job over covering up some existing stains on the floor using their own stain mix. They also fixed a problem with a height difference between two flooring areas.The floor looked fabulous. Excellent service and very responsive will definitely be going back when it comes time to refinish the rest of our floors

I bought a big deal coupon, which they told me was for a room of about 600 sf. They told me my 400 sf kitchen was extra because handwork had to be done under cabinet foot room. That was $200. extra. Then when I wanted stain ( who doesn't stain ?) that was another $200. My big deal coupon didn't save a dime. It was an $800 job and I paid $800. They showed up when they said they would and pefrormed a proffesional job, except they did three coats and tried to convince me it was four, because they combined the stain with the first coat of polly, so it was really 4 coats? Happy with the way the job came out. Dont count on any coupons being real, and have someone come out and give you a hard qoute before you go ahead. Probably would have rated them higher if there was no "coupon" involved.

Richard was very accommodating to our time schedule and we really appreciate it. The job turned out great, we are thrilled!
