Prompt, professional, courteous and personable initial estimate visit. Gave a prompt clear estimate by email.Recommended best available stairway for the job.We were not in a big hurry so we scheduled the work when it was mutually convenient. He showed up on time, completed the work quickly, cleaned up thoroughly, adjusted the final price appropriately to cover a change in the work. We are completely satisfied.Being happy with this job, we plan to get estimates from him on bigger jobs including bathroom renovation, deck repairs, and electrical work.Tiniest wrinkle was a little confusion over communication - he uses Angie's List messages, regular email, a couple of different telephone numbers. Not a problem, he was responsive whenever I called and kept us informed of when the new stairway he had to order would be available and when he was likely to be able to do the job.

A large plumbing job, in this case conversion from electrical heat to natural gas, leaves a number of places where the old heat wiring was and provides new places where gas registers are placed. In short, the cosmetics of the old and new systems are poor and highly visible. He, through dry-wall, carpentry, staining, etc. provided a finish to the work that were not part of the plumbing job.

Contractor was impossible to get in touch with and did not respond in a timely manner to messages. After two months of trying i contacted Angie's list.

He's very nice. He's very professional.

The service went okay. The job ended up being much larger than the value of the deal. I needed an estimate on the bathroom and he has still not gotten back with me. It has been difficult to get a hold of him. He seems to be very busy lately. I was planning on using the coupon to switch out some ceiling and a few other things. I would love to be able to get him out for the service and also to get the estimate on the bathroom. He did miss our first appointment because he forgot, but I did not mind too much. He has been very nice to work with so far.

I did not have the work done that I intended to because, I found myself playing phone tag with the company and I need to get the project done in a timely manner.

After he contacted me the first time on the 9 th via email, I wanted 10 days to hear from him and haven?t heard anything else from him. I just need to get the work done.

Never heard from the contractor. Called and left a message and never received a call back. Don't have time to chase people down. I need the work done asap and will go elsewhere.

In early March of this year, I did my first purchase through Angie's List of a day of carpentry work with Tom Brady's Carpentry. I'm sad to say however, that we did not had much luck working things out. At first it was communication issues: He didn't get back to me or responded to my email when I tried to figure out when to meet for him to look at the work to be done. When he did respond, he did not respond to my questions nor did he refer to the proposed dates I gave him for our first meeting. I finally had a bit of time in my hands on a Friday about 2 months later, so I decided to call him to see if I had better luck by phone. We had a friendly conversation over the phone and we set things up for him to come to my house the next day to look at the project. I gave him my number so that he could call in case he couldn't find the house or because of any other conflict he might encounter. I did tell him I live on a second floor and that people at times can't find the entrance to my apartment. That Saturday, he came about 10 minutes early and a person from the first floor came to the door and told him I wasn't home. It seems that Tom rang the bell at the time I was still getting in the shower or getting dressed, but I didn't know he was at the door. The person who came to the door is someone who was visiting one of my tenants in the first floor, and someone whom I had never met. I don't know why this young man took the liberty of saying to Tom that I wasn't home without knowing one way or another (and I am sure he could hear my footsteps upstairs from him!). This is a mystery that has yet to be resolved, but the kid did apologize to me later. However, what I find most frustrating is that Tom just turned around and went home instead of calling me to confirm that indeed, I wasn't home. When I noticed he hadn't arrived 15 - 20 minutes after the time we agreed upon, I called him. He sounded very irritated and told me he had been at the house and that I wasn't home. I told him that I WAS home all morning waiting for him. But he didn't seem to believe me; I guess he trusted the white young male who came to the door more than he trusted me, a Latina lady. He sounded upset. I apologized for the mix up and told him that I too, was very disappointed, as I made plans to be home for him and also because I was very much looking forward to meeting him and planning the work that was to be done at the house (that I had already paid for, mind you!) The whole thing was a mix up, but in retrospect, I had given Tom my phone number and I wish he had used it to confirm that in fact I wasn't home, instead of just taking the word of this kid, who obviously didn't know what he was talking about. I wished he had believed me when I said the day before that I WAS going to be home waiting for him. I can see why he was disappointed, but he also sounded mad. He told me "who's going to pay me for the time I spent in the road to get to your house and back?" He sounded very different from the friendly person I had spoken to the day before. I tried very hard to explain to him that I have no control over the random behavior of a person I haven't even met, but he still sounded angry. He wasn't nice anymore. He never said he was sorry things didn't work out, like I did. I don't think things are going to work out between him and I. Given the rudeness with which he treated me on that Saturday, I am going to find it difficult to trust him being in my home or to give him any business. This is very unfortunate because I had some big projects I wanted him to look at that might have turned into good business for him. In any case, I'd like to request that either I get my money back or that I'm allowed to try someone else from your list. But I really need to hire someone soon; it's been sooo long, and my carpentry projects are still undone. :(

When I bought the Big Deal I thought it was for one guy for eight hours of work but I was later told that it was for two guys for four hours of work. The two guys who came out only ended up staying for two hours though and on top of that, they charged me an additional $200 for materials. All they ended up doing was putting up a shelf and bar inside of a closet.

I had trouble communicating with with the service provider and scheduling a time.

I haven't heard back from him in a timely manner since I requested the estimate so I have decided not to have the work done.

Purchased the big deal in November. Met with Contractor shortly thereafter, but he indicated he would not be able to begin work until January. He scoped out the work,and due to budget constraints, we had to reduce the scope of the work, and agreed to start reduced scope of work in March. Contractor never provided price for reduced scope of work, and missed several dates to meet to discuss the project. Finally gave up as we finished the month of March.

Tom was very responsive and detailed in explaining the job and its needs to me when he provided me with a quote for the job. He was also great about working with my schedule, and just all around very pleasant to work with. Although I ultimately utilized the services of a different contractor, it was clear that Tom would have also done very good work and I am definitely hanging on to his contact information for future jobs. I recommend giving him a call.

These guys are awesome, they call right back, show up early, efficiently set up and clean up after done. I will rehire for additional things we plan to do! Thanks guys.

He was very efficient, did an excellent job and his rates were reasonable. I would do business with him again. He worked great with my elderly aunt as well.

The bathroom had a leak that required breaking through the walls so we decided to renovate. Tom was recommended by our excellent plumber, David Suvalle, and they coordinated things beautifully. Tom got rid of some incredibly ugly tiles and a parquet floor, opened up the wall for the plumbers, then came back after they were done and fixed the wall, installed floor tiles and wainscoting and painted everything, installed towel rack and toilet paper holder. He and his helpers were friendly, polite and professional.

Tom showed up to estimate the job and said he would get back to me with a schedule. I told him that I needed the missing trim addressed right away because it was allowing squirrels to get into the attic. He said he was very busy and Angie's List had sold too many of his big deals. No word for 2 weeks. Called him and he said he would be there the next day. Roof had morning dew on it so he said he'd have to wait for a dry day. Roof was dry 2 hours later and multiple good days after that. Never returned or contacted me. I now have a dead squirrel in one of my walls. I am very disappointed in the big deal experience. You should not be promoting contractors who are too busy to schedule the work. Don't see much value in Angie's List and will probably not renew.

Tom was very responsive and we reviewed my bathroom ceiling and door projects. Since then we talked on several occasions. His prices were just beyond my budget at this time.

As agreed, Tom Brady showed up on Saturday, November 30th to look at the job I wanted done. He told me he would get back to me the following Monday, December 2nd. which he never did. I waited until Wednesday, December 4th and he still hadn't called back. I finally called him and he had no further information for me about my project. I asked that he get back to me the next day (Thursday) with the information necessary for my project which he agreed he would. I have not heard back from Mr. Brady since then, which is unacceptable. I no longer want to do business with Tom Brady Carpentry and am requesting my full refund of $299.00.

I had rotted siding in several locations around my house as well as some severe damage due to woodpeckers. I called Tom and he came when he said he would and gave me a firm quote for the work. He replaced all of the damaged siding and even uncovered some damaged spots that I was unaware of. Hie was always on time and even worked on the weekend to complete the job. He performed as promised at the price quoted and always picked up when the work was done. Overall it was a very positive experience and I would certainly use him again. .

Tom is very easy to reach on the phone, always on time and gives good estimates as of how much time he needs to get the job done. He is honest and knows his job. Highly recommend to hire him.

Tom was excellent on time. Work was good. He also promised me to come back to fix one more shutter later free of cost. Because I had ordered a wrong size. He is also giving me warranty on his work for two years. I am very happy eith the promise. I would definitely recommend him to others.

They were great. Let them walk you through, let them do what they need to do and they won't steer you wrongly. They were really good, on time and on schedule. Even with the bad weather they got everything done and they cleaned up beautifully. The mason's unbelievable. We're going to call the contractor back as we're looking to have a kitchen done.
