Platinum replaced my leaking 40 gal gas hot water heater. The unit the installed looks like it was dropped as it had a dent in the bottom, installer said i shouldn't have an issue. A day or so later I noticed that the hot water pipe was leaking, I sent them a picture of the leak and they had to come out to do the repair which was a major inconvenience as I had to take a day for from work. I wish the job was done right the first time and the hot water heater they installed was not damaged.

The specific repair man was excellent. Otherwise like most of your referrals, they have flat rates for specific work performed, rather than charging by time. $275 is their standard flat rate to replace an ignitor, a task that takes under 1/2 hour at most. Most people won't know you can negotiate, and avoiding the haggling is a major reason people use your service. I'm tired of getting gouged like that, which is why I would only very rarely use the suppliers you recommend. Lately getting your quotes just gives me the highest bids, and that helps me find more reasonable alternaties.

I didn't know if I had to replace the entire humidifier and one company (not Home Advisor) said yes for $1500. Platinum came and said all I had to do was have the piece repaired. They went right ahead and did it and the cost? $139.00. They are great.

Here's the thing, the company response was fast, professional, and fully capable and convenient but, WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. I'm nobody's cheapskate, but $330+ to replace a $50 part in 20 minutes was ridiculously expensive. Normally, this job would cost about $150 for the call plus the part. But, it was winter, and my tenant needed heat. I only agreed to this cost and repair because I really didn't have much of any other choice. If you need work done fast and well, these are your guys. HOWEVER, EXPECT TO PAY ALMOST DOUBLE FOR THE JOB. BUYER BEWARE!

I am not very happy with them, at all.Had Tech come Feb 16th, 17th and 18th, still have no invoice for work preformed. Tech did not re-insert washing machine hose to drain. basement flooded. Spoke to Jim on the 20th he said he would send invoice and a refund, As of today March 7th still have received nothing.

This was a difficult job in the middle of a blizzard with no parking in the city and lots of other problems. It did not go as smoothly as I would like it to, but stuff happens. I have used Platinum in the past and will most likely use them in the future.
