Description of Work: Mark is very service oriented and I would recommend him to all my family and friends. Mark came to my home and gave me a very detailed and accurate expectation of the work that needed to be done. Although he was unable to do the work he spent an hour and half on the phone with me giving me good advice and tips going forward. Mark has over 25 years of experience in the industry and very informative.

Description of Work: I contacted this provider to submit a quote for some insurance water damage. He was |very prompt in arriving and very detailed in how to go about making the claim and how |they help you get what is needed to fix the job. I did not use them as they were more |expensive than my budget but I did feel they would do an excellent, professional job.

Mark was very professional and offered ideas prior to his giving an estimate. We were remodeling a small kitchen in an older condo which required some on-site adjustments due to wiring and plumbing issues.. When any unforeseen problem appeared, Mark always contacted us to make a decision prior to work being done. He and his men were prompt, showed up as scheduled and worked neatly. Any "punch-list" issues were corrected without hesitation Mark's company performed the work to our satisfaction and even said...."don't give me the final payment until you are completely satisfied" I appreciated that.
Description of Work: We had our kitchen updated with new cabinets, granite counters and tile flooring.

They were actually amazing. His crew is reliable, on time, easy to get a hold of, and they are detail oriented. I am very comfortable using this company. If we were to remodel our home again we would definitely use him again. He made sure we knew everything that was going on with our project. I had a vision of what I want and he exceeded our expectations. At the very end of the work, they send someone to clean twice. This is what it means to follow up on a project. I always try to recommend this company to my friends.

We have had other remodeling/renovation projects done in our home before. This is the first project that ended w/ complete satisfaction. Scott was prompt, responsive and helpful. Pricing was very fair. The work quality was very high (and we are picky and have high expectations). Scott had good suggestions which improved the finished product; he made sure that we were all on the same page and all our issues, preferences and questions were fully addressed.

Excellent! Mark is great to work with. He has en eye for efficient layout of kitchen and attractive design. He noticed every detail of finish. He is a tenacious manager - there were several problems on this job (see negative report on Metropolitan cabinets) but Mark went above and beyond in taking responsibility for getting the job done. Months later he was still available when major problems (cabinet doors split) and minor problems (toe kick heater incompatible with high efficiency furnace) cropped up. We are actually looking forward to our next renovation project to work with Mark again.

B & B Unique remodeling did an excellent job and provided excellent costumer service. We are very satisfied with their work and would not hesitate to hire them again for another project or reccommend their services. Mark Burgeois and his team proved to be reliable, professional and fair with their prices. Mark worked with us throughout the life of the project and made sure that the deadline we set to have the project completed was met. When we scoped the project, Mark gave us good ideas and made excellent suggestions that we ended up implementing as part of the project. As an example, thanks to one of Mark's suggestions, we now have very nice closet space in one of our bedrooms. Throughout the life of the project we asked for several changes that were outside of the scope of the project. Mark and his team worked with us to get these changes made without affecting the project timeline and were fair with their pricing.
Description of Work: Completed the remodeling job for our condo remodeling upgrade. The services included framing, drywall, finishing touches to the hardwood floors, painting, plumbing.

Too busy! They could only meet with us at 1pm during a week day, then came in running. He was in and out in 10 minutes asking almost no questions regarding what we wanted. Over two weeks later, he called with a quote that included items we did not want, and still has not sent the written estimate.

Response from B&B Unique Remodeling
My brother Mark and I pride ourselves on being honest and up front with our customers. We find the best way to do that is through good communication. A good, honest relationship with our customers is paramount to the way we do business. So it came to us as a great surprise to read the comments by this potential customer. We could have given the customer an estimate that included only pricing for the items that they asked for, but in doing that we would have been leaving out items we knew to be necessary for the customer to accomplish what they wanted, and to meet building code. Leaving out items we know to be important or necessary only to have to come back to them later is not how we choose to run our company. We use our years of experience to include work the customer may not realize is necessary to meet their requirements as stated to us, and to give an accurate quote that represents the full costs of the project. In this case, some of the additional items we included in our estimate had to do with the customer's desire to make two rooms from one. In doing that, one of the rooms would be left without heat so our estimate included a price to provide heat for that room. We also included the cost to install hard-wired smoke/carbon monoxide detectors to code, a requirement for rooms that are, or could be used as bedrooms. We called the customer with an estimate for the project approximately one week after visiting their home, and then discussed it with the customer when they called us back a week later. A written estimate was provided the following week. While it seems to us that this customer has confused us with another contractor, we never like to see negative comments about our company regardless of the circumstances. We have attempted in several ways, by phone and e-mail, to contact this customer in an effort to renew our discussion and correct any misunderstandings.

From the very first phone call Mark and his team were prompt, professional and friendly. Upon evaluation of our existing space, Mark provided solid feedback on design decisions we had made, and offered valuable insight regarding our concerns and desires for a new kitchen space. Contract negotiation went very well and a very reasonable time line was established. Mark's crew worked extremely hard. All of the B&B subs worked diligently and in a timely fashion. We were constantly kept in the loop about job progress. Every step was explained thoroughly to us. Mark and his crew went above and beyond to clean up after themselves. They treated our home with care and respect. Along the way, there were no alarming surprises. B&B went as far as improving upon existing structural/mechanical imperfections, without charging us extra, just to get the job done right. The end product is beautiful. I would not hesitate to hire B&B for future remodels to our home.

It was a great experience. It was mostly Mark but he brother Scott was also involved. They did the most thorough bid by far so I went in thinking they had a good handle on the scope. Which turned out to be true as they did the whole job in 7 weeks. Their grandfather started the business and you can tell they've spent their lives doing this. Our house is 70 years old. There were 2 major problems. First, when the soffit was removed, we found there was a huge drainpipe in 1 corner. They built a smaller, beautiful soffit at no extra cost. Second, when the family room/kitchen wall was demolished, the upstairs heating pipes were right in the middle and had to be rerouted; they gave us some options and we selected one that added the 5% extra to the total project although I got at least this much back in the extra carpentry work they did at no charge. At least 4 times, they came up with some very creative workarounds to problems with the cabinets or the house not being level. The end result is a work of art.
Description of Work: The primary job was a kitchen remodel consisting of new cabinets, removal of most of a structural wall to open up the kitchen to the family room, removal of a partially concrete soffit, installion of a a larger kitchen window, new lighting, appliance hookup and painting. They also modified existing cabinets in both the den and family room into entertainment centers;they removed a huge old central air conditioning unit in the basement and repaired the ceiling; and lastly they did several minor add-on jobs including replacing some rotted wood in the front entrance and repair of a set of drop down attic stairs.

We had already gotten two bids for our project and wasn't happy with either of the contractors. One had an outrageous estimate where we could have built a whole new house and the other kept telling me that the sky was the limit. Although I think it is important for my ideas to be heard, I neither have the experience or the expertise to know what my best options were for the space. Mark listened and really took the time to explain every option in detail with pros and cons. From start to finish, Mark and his team were 100% professional and reliable. Mark took great pains to inform us of the rationale behind his recommendations, next steps, and pricing. All of his efforts paid off, as the project turned out better than we could have ever expected. Mark's pricing was reasonable and transparent. We will without question go with B&B Unique Remodeling should we need any further work done in the future.

All the work went extremely well. The design discussions started several months before demolition. B&B is very thorough and patient with the planning phase, and bring up many excellent ideas for consideration. We did not use a separate architect or designer (other than for decorative items), instead drawing on the expertise of B&B. It was our request to minimize the time from demo to occupancy. Work was completed nearly on the schedule we had laid out, but we added a few additional items along the way. The follow up attention was also very good as B&B made several revisits with the cabinet manufacturer to replace a few components of the cabinets that were not 100% correct (matching color, etc.). They do not leave until the customer is 100% satisfied. ensure
Description of Work: Kitchen was gutted down to studs. New electrical, recessed lights, plumbing, new window, insulation, board and plaster walls and ceiling, new subfloor and ceramic tile floor. Did all design, measurements, ordering and installation of new cabinets. Tile backsplash. Trim work around doors, window and baseboard. New under cabinet heating unit. Installed water filter system. Painted ceiling and walls. In addition to the kitchen, we also took the opportunity to have a new window installed in the dining room and to update the master bathroom with new tile shower and tub.

The company that B&B Remodeling hired was good. They were very professional. They showed up on time and did a really good job. The mess was picked up and taken care of for me. I actually needed some new gutters put on and I also needed the chimney to be rebuilt. Due to bad weather we were not able to get everything done. So we were reimbursed for the work that was not done. If I would have known that we were only going to be able to get the roof done, I would have just hired a roofing company. But the roof looks great. I would hire them again in the future if needed.

The Bourgeois brothers did an amazing job. I recommend them highly. The quality of their trades was excellent and I am very satisfied with the finished product. The most impressive aspect of the job for me was the superb communication. Both Mark and Scott would call frequently to discuss scheduling, estimated start and completion dates for all aspects of the job. We requested several addendums to the original proposal, and B&B was very quick to respond with several reasonable quotes. They provided great insights on design based on their years of experience. B&B provided exceptional customer service.

This was our second renovation project with B&B because of the outstanding job they'd done for us renovating other parts of the house. As we expected, Mark and Scott approached the work as if they were renovating their own homes. They never hesitated to take additional time to solve a problem in the best way possible, and frequently made suggestions that improved the overall outcome. As with the first project, they were either on the job, or if work was being done by one of their subcontractors (also first-rate), they followed up to make sure the work was done properly and as planned. If you're reading this, as we read other reviews before starting our first project, one important consideration is cost. We've found B&B prices to be fair. They're neither the least, nor the most expensive renovation contractors around. Most importantly, as the result of the way in which they approach their work, we've always felt that we've gotten more than our money's worth.
Description of Work: The scope of work included gutting the kitchen; removing a single door to the outside and replacing it with a window, and replacing a bay window with french doors; reworking the plumbing for the sink; new lighting, outlets, and exterior lights; adding insulation; walls and ceiling replaced; new tile flooring and cabinets installed; window and cabinet trim (some challenges there); granite countertop and new appliances; shingle and trim outside around new windows and doors.

Overall the project went very well. From the B & B side all work was performed in a professional & timely manner. B & B has a reputation of going above and beyond the normal standards. For example, they included a steel beam construction, interior and exterior underground drainage as their standard practice. In other words, there was no additional costs. B & B commonly takes the approach of "doing the right thing" for the client. They kept me informed throughout the initial permitting process. More importantly, B & B identified some factory flaws with the modular structure, the flaws were major. For example, floor joists were missing throughout the first floor ceiling area, the modular boxes weren't properly aligned, and a the subflooring was not installed with the proper methods and adhesives according to manufacturers requirements. Most of these issues would not have been easily identified by the homeowner unless he or she had experience in the construction business.
Description of Work: This was a complete demolition of an existing structure and the design and construction of a new modular residential home. The work included all the preliminary planning, permitting, utility disconnects, asbestos removal, architectural & engineering plans, and surveying. B & B acted as the General Contractor as well as the interface between the modular company which was crucial in getting a superior product.

Job 1: Mark & Scott were professional .They are on the job every day & have excellent sub-contractors. There were also several changes that took place during the project, which were all handled without incident. Job 2: Mark & Scott were responsible for building the bathroom & the design, which included enlarging the area to include space previously used for storage. When construction began, the building code required that we reinforce the some of the infrastructure in the bathroom. This was handled smoothly, & was incorporated with a new a/c system & electrical service upgrade. The bathroom included several unique aspects, including vaulted ceilings, new heating, & moving a wall/doorway for another room. The diverse skill set that Mark & Scott bring to the job allows them to manage all aspects of the job, including any unforeseen occurrences that take place. The room came out beautifully & we were very comfortable having them in the house.
Description of Work: Job 1: Completely gutted and renovated kitchen. This included removing walls and a chimney, adding windows and a door, and moving heating pipes. In the process there was existing framing that needed to be improved as well as the plumbing for both the kitchen and the bathroom above. Also replaced boiler system, added electrical service to garage, and built a small deck.($55000.) Job 2: Completely gutted and renovated bathroom, including build out into additional space, updated electrical service, installed A/C for second floor.($45000.)

My wife and I spent months looking for a contractor to renovate our house. We wanted not only quality and dependability at a reasonable price, but also people we felt we could work with to resolve the unexpected issues that were surely to arise. Fortunately, in Mark and Scott Bourgeois of B&B Unique Remodeling, we found what we were looking for. In addition to accomplishing all the work we wanted to have done, they often made it better by taking the time to offer and discuss options and designs we hadn't considered. Far from an attempt to increase the cost of the project, their ideas were sound and/or creative and made the results better than we had anticipated. Our greatest surprise was a ventilation/condensation problem in the roof that delayed their work but left us with a better house for having taken the time to address it. I think the greatest compliment you can pay a contractor/house renovator is to hire them again. B&B Unique Remodeling is now renovating our kitchen.
Description of Work: They added a dormer to unfinished attic space to convert it to an additional bedroom with a shower bath. They combined two separate rooms into a walk-in closet and full master bath. They added a gas fireplace to the living room. They converted a hot water boiler/radiator heating system to a forced hot air heating system. They added central A/C and 2 zones with a humidifier. They upgraded the electrical system, hot water heater, and water pipes.
