Description of Work: I used Stumpy’s Tree Service Inc to remove a tree for me. The tree was about sixty feet tall and had a diameter of four and a half feet.

Description of Work: The tree in front of my house was a 130 year old maple owned by my town and had previous damaged my roof in a storm 4 years ago, and further damaged in hurricane Irene, so the town contracted with Stumpy's to have it removed. They were awesome! This tree was close to my house and right next to power lines, but they were able to take the tree down carefully in pieces, making sure not to do any damage. They had all the necessary trucks and equipment, worked well as a team, got the job done in a little over an hour, and even did a great clean up job. I was very impressed and if I ever need any work done or know someone looking for a tree service, I would be happy to recommend them.

Description of Work: We needed to remove a tree and a huge wisteria vine that grew up next to the tree and had completely entangled itself with the tree, all the way to the top (30-40 feet high). Both the tree and the vine were straddling the property line with our neighbor's house. We wanted to remove the tree and the vine, and have both stumps ground down.

Description of Work: At the end of June, I received a proposal to remove a large Red Maple which had two trunks, that was estimated to be about 45 years old and to prune a massive Sugar Maple that is well over 75 years old that are located in my back yard. The estimate for the removal was $575 and the pruning was $325, for a total of $900. About 10 years ago, I had had a Norway Maple, much smaller than either of these trees, removed from my front yard and that cost $1500, with the stump ground. As scheduled, Stumpy's arrived today, with 4 massive trucks: one with an enclosure with a massive chipper, a bucket truck, a crane and logger. The workers surveyed the property to determine how to address the work and relocated my patio furniture, grill and potted plants to an area where they would not be damaged. The crane truck had to maneuver around utility lines from across the street to the house to the location that he had to set the outriggers and raise the crane to remove the double tree. With four or five cuts and lifts, the tree was removed to the ground. As this area is a mulched area, we chose to not grind the stump, the stump protrudes about 2 inches at the highest point and will be covered with mulch. In the meanwhile, the bucket truck was used to prune the Sugar Maple, which towers over my 2 story home. As the trees were being cut, one of the workers chipped the debris. When all the cutting was done, they collected all the branches, twigs and leaves and chipped them. They followed this up by raking the sawed chips from the area around where the trees were cut and used a leaf blower to collect the finer particles. Upon completing the cleanup, they replaced the patio furniture, grill and plants exactly as they were.

Description of Work: I called Stumpy's to come and give an estimate on removing a 30 foot poplar and to remove branches from the yard that had fallen in several storms. they came out the next day and in walking the property they pointed out to me a badly cracked 55 foot hemlock that I had not noticed and that was close to the house. Based on the tree's proximity to the house and the potential for it to do damage if it came down. We added this into the job. The next day, in the pouring rain they came and took care of all of the tree work.
