He arrived as scheduled, and he and his apprentice carried out the work. I also asked him about other plumbing questions, and he gave me recommendations on what to do and how long I could delay on these jobs. It's good to find a reliable plumber.
Description of Work: Take out old water heater, put in new Bradford White water heater and hook up, dispose of old water heater.

 + 0 moreI initially called to have them check out our water pressure booster pump because it seemed like it wasn't working consistently. Charlie was very responsive--I called him on a Saturday and he came on Monday morning to check it out. It turned out that he could either replace the pump we had and he gave me a quote for that, or we could replace the entire pump with a higher volume, better quality pump. Given the quote for repairs, and not knowing if the repairs would last very long (because of the lower quality of the pump), we opted to purchase a new one. Charlie had it installed by the end of the week. He was very professional and efficient, did high quality work--even added additional by-pass pipe so that if something happened to this pump, it could easily be removed without inhibiting our ability to have running water.

 + 1 moreHe changed the zoning so we could heat individual parts of the house. Also, the new radiators run virtually silently. His crew worked very well together and seemed very knowledgeable about the work being performed. I feel I received quality work for the price we paid. This was a very large project, and they completed it to my satisfaction.
Description of Work: He installed a Buderus gas boiler. Also, our house had steam radiators, which he changed to a forced hot water heating system. He had to practically take apart the entire house to replace all the piping.

Friendly, courteous, and neat technician listened to my suggestions, absorbed them and implemented a better solution than I anticipated. The repair resulted in re-routing the original lines so they are in the heated envelope of the house and will no longer freeze. This has been a problem since the house was built in 1929.

The defective water heater was covered by a warranty which he called about and confirmed. He scheduled a time for first thing the next day. He arrived on time and completed the work.  + -1 moreService was fantastic. Charlie returned calls immediately, answered all questions on what needed to be done, code/permit requirements, etc. and price was excellent. He worked around our kitchen cabinet and electrical install schedule and came exactly when he said he would. All work was done right the first time and extremely neat (solder joints, piping, etc. was very professional). Everything went exactly as planned and promised, and they were extremely fast and efficient. They were also really nice to deal with and made us feel like we were their top priority. Will definitely use again on upcoming projects. I just joined Angie's list otherwise would have posted a review for them sooner.
Description of Work: Installed entirely new plumbing for kitchen redo; water, waste and gas to range and moved steam radiator. Removed old water and waste pipes from old sink location on other wall, then ran new water, waste and vent piping to new location and connected all fixtures including dishwasher and disposal. Installed and connected a new gas line to range (previous range was electric) and moved the piping to a steam radiator that was relocated.

Charlie sent a plumber named Eric to do the work. He arrived right on time, did a great job, and was very efficient. I'm very happy with the work they did, and will be using them for my plumbing needs in the future.
Description of Work: I needed a water line installed for my refrigerator. The refrigerator is a ways from the sink, and there are no cabinets between the fridge and sink counters, so we had to put a water line up from the basement.

 + -1 moreCharlie Lovett happened to be able to look at my problem the same day. He advised me as to the probable cost. He arrived when he said he would. He explained the problem and gave me the choice of replacing my diverter. He really seemed to know what he was doing.
Description of Work: I called Charlie Lovett because my regular plumber was unavailable. My immediate problem was that no cold water was coming out of my bathroom sink faucet. In addition, my kitchen sink hadn't had good water pressure for a while. He immediately diagnosed the no-cold-water problem in my bathroom sink. The cold-water valve under the sink was closed. I must have inadvertently closed the valve while I was storing something under the sink. He opened the valve, and the water flow was fine. He diagnosed the water pressure problem in kitchen as a faulty diverter, a little thingie somewhere in the fixture that directs water flow to the sprayer when you push the lever on the sprayer. He made an adjustment that improved the water pressure, but gave me a choice of replacing the diverter or staying with the existing diverter. I decide to replace the diverter. The water pressure is now great. The remarkable thing about his visit is that two other plumbers whom I had asked to look at the water pressure problem were unable to diagnose it. They both said they really couldn't tell where the problem was. They both also recommended that I replace the entire kitchen sink fixture and hope that would fix the problem. Charlie Lovett pinpointed the problem and fixed it without my having to make a larger expenditure.

 + -1 moreIt went great. It's a pleasure to deal with Charlie Lovett. He is very responsive and helpful, and I think his prices are well within reason. He is now my official plumber!
Description of Work: Lovett Plumbing installed a new hot water heater in Jan. 2008. It went great A+ rating. Then this Sat., 2/21/09, I had no hot water. I called Charlie and he said he could come over on Sunday, late afternoon, when his wife returned from a trip(he has children to tend to). I responded that I could wait until Monday. While I was out on Sunday, he called & was coming over, but I was not home. He came about 9:15 Monday morning and checked it out. The gas regulator was broken and it was covered under warranty...no charge to me. While he was here, I asked him to fix a leak in my kitchen sink. He replaced some O rings. Everything went great. After he left, I turned on the hot water, but it just trickled and wasn't hot. I checked the unit and it didn't seem to be working. I called his cell phone and he walked me through turning the water supply back on. It was located so I could not see it, but he ID'd it very well for me. He said that should solve the problem, but I mentioned I smelled gas. He said he'd be right over, and he was. He tested all lines for a gas leak, and they were all OK. The hot water was flowing again!

He was professional, efficient, and thorough. He diagnosed the problem within five minutes using a voltmeter and logic. He cleaned up completely. He explained everything he was doing and had suggestions for avoiding the problem in the future. I was very impressed with him.
