I want to lay particular emphasis on the hands on approach of the owner. He was right on the spot at every part along the way. He may have been the boss and owner but he got just as dirty and worked just as hard as any of his men. and at critical junctures his long experience was called upon again and again. He juggled many men, huge and complicated machines. trucks, time tables. parking spaces, and neighbor problems with expertise and humor. It is little wonder that his number of pleased Angie people is so very high.

I continued to send checks to him while I was away. According to people watching him, he would just come in and out. When I returned I found he had plowed four feet into my garden damaging the area and the watering devices. He said his plow was too big and my driveway was in poor shape. He came out and plowed for me when there was only 1 or 2 inches on the ground. He offered to come and repair the area at no charge, but I choose just not to pay him the last $180.00.

Joe Primo was prompt, professional, responsive and pleasant. He began the work when he said he would and completed it efficiently and well with a minimum of disruption. He had several helpers, and was always on site himself working with and supervising them. I recommend him highly.

If you are a business, there is no excuse for not returning a call, even if it is to say you cannot do the job.

I had a really bad experience with Primo Paving. One of the steps up to my mailbox was loose and the mailman slipped on it so he wouldn't deliver my mail anymore until I fixed it. I called Primo to fix it. My path is flagstone and I have subsequently learned that the worker that was sent knows nothing about flagstone. I was charged $7000 for him to patch the path and after 2 days the flagstone started slipping again. When I called they said I should have paid more for better a better result. They came out to repair once but that was all. In the end I had to do it myself.

It was fine. I felt the work done was extremely simple (no extras, as in no shoveling walks, no neatening up any areas) after pushing the snow in a couple of mounds basically. I feel the work is not that hard given the plow/truck does it all, and the cost is disproportionate to what is done. I know this because I actually got to see how they do the work when we were home for about a week and had another snow. They came and shoved the snow about 3 times and then left. (They did not realize that we were only using them for that one storm while we were away, so they came automatically while we were home the second time). I guess if I am in a bind again and have to have their help (like my blower is down or out of gas, etc) I might use them, as it seems hard to get this kind of service around here.

Joe DePrimeo answered a call from me right away and came over in 10 minutes to help with a pile of snow. He was wonderful and I would call him again anytime. It was such a small job he hardly charged me at all.

Reached Primo by cell phone, he said he'd come over to evaluate us for snow removal the next day. He did not show up. Called him again. He profusely apologized, said his service aimed to be "perfect", pledged to come the next day. He didn't and did not call us. I called him one last time, he said there were "problems", and seemingly did not recall our previous conversations. I gave up.

Awesome! Joe and his team worked hard to make sure that the driveway was done correctly. We also had Joe come back to seal coat the driveway. The rain water drains quickly and we just had two inches of snow that easily shoveled off in a few minutes. It looks great! Thanks Joe!

I only got an estimate from him. Went with someone else for the job. Not much else to report.

Called three weeks ago and left a message. Didn't hear back for a couple weeks. Called again a week ago. Man answered and told me about how many calls they get a week. He wouldn't even talk to me about the work I wanted done. Instead, he said I should call back in 45 minutes and leave my information on the answering machine again. I asked if I could call back right after we hung-up (and if he didn't answer it would go to voicemail and I could leave my number). He said that 'no I should call back in 45 minutes. I actually did call back as he suggested and left another message with my phone number. It's been another week with no call back. Seems like a business that is doing very well and they are willing to lose some customers because they don't call them back. They seem to think they are really great, but as one person -- just calling to speak to someone about my driveway -- despite how successful they seem to be, I wish they'd show me the respect of returning my call (and actually speaking to me when I call -- not asking me to call back and leave another message).

Joe was very responsive; he got back to me quickly when I first inquired about his getting this job. I got another quote, which was lower, but did not have the same depth of final paving. So, I went with Joe. He and his crew showed up when they were supposed to. They did all the work per our agreement quickly and cleaned up after themselves. I would certainly recommend him. Later, he called to see if I wanted to seal my new driveway, which I did and he only charged me a small fee for this.

I left two messages requesting a call back and the calls were never returned. If they are too busy or do not do the work just say so and let potential customers move on.

Am glad I called Primo Paving. Joe is a stand-up guy who takes pride in his work, does what he says he going to do, and does it on time. He is a hands-on guy running machinery, overseeing the work and he makes sure that any problems are taken care of. When it rained hard the day after he applied a sealant to our driveway, Joe did not hesitate to come back immediately and reapply the sealant at no extra cost. I would definitely hire him again.

Honest guys with a lot of experience. Did a super job very quickly. When I saw one of the guy picking sand bits from my driveway with his fingers after he swept it clean, I knew I am dealing with honest pro's.

I contacted Joe to get an estimate on removing a concrete bed from my backyard and having my driveway widened and repaved. When I talked to Joe on the phone I told him I was just in the planning phase for this project and found out he was more than happy to come by, survey the layout of the land, and listen to my ideas. During his visit I told him what I had in mind and he recommended a few cost saving options to accomplish my goals, which in this economy I greatly appreciated. I've hired Primo Paving a few years ago and had a great experience with them. When starting this project I was worried that the value or excellent customer service might have changed over time, as many companies do. But I was pleased to find out that those attributes are still present. I am planning on having the work done in early spring and I look forward to hiring Joe and his crew for the job.

Don't waste your time with this guy. If he doesn't feel that the job is worth his time he strings you along. Here is how it goes with him...... You call, he picks up, you tell him what you have in mind. If it's not a big project, meaning big $$$ he tells you to call him back and leave the details on his answering machine as he doesn't have a pen/paper handy. You call, leave the detail and contact info. He doesn't call you back at all. Went round and round with him on this. Finally looked elsewhere and found someone else who calls you back and did a great job. This guy is overrated! If you decide to call him and you get the same non-sense about calling back and leaving a message, don't and look elsewhere. Don't waste your time.

I made at least 4 calls to Primo over a period of months with many promises that I would receive an estimate. However, they never came to my home to deliver the estimate. Each time, I was asked to call back and leave my info on the answering machine, and that someone would get back to me. They never did. I was very disappointed because to the excellent rating on Angie's List. I hope this was an unfortunate and isolated incident.

They did a wonderful job. They responded promptly when I called for an estimate. They explained their estimate. They came within a week when we called to schedule the work. They came when they said they would and did a great job. They left the area clean. The driveways look wonderful. I highly recommend them.

He responded to my telephone message quickly. We were on a tight deadline and he was able to deliver the gravel on time. He worked with what we needed done. He was a pleasure to work with.

I called on three separate occasions over a two week period and left messages each time. I never received a return phone call. I have written over 10 reviews for Angie's List companies over the last five years, and this is the first negative review I have had to write. Based on other reviews listed, this company does good work when they take a job, but there are also a large number of potential customers who were either strung along or who never even received the courtesy of a return phone call. Unfortunately, I fall into the last category.

We got the estimate on a Monday, the job was completed on the following Wednesday and the quality of all the work is excellent. They noticed and took care of extras (removing large stones from area beyond driveway, filling a space between concrete end of driveway and street). Joe and his staff were polite and the worksite was completely cleaned up when they were finished. We would definitely use Primo Paving again but we won't have to since the driveway will last for 30 years! We know this for sure because they did our neighbors driveway about 20 years ago and it's still in great shape.

The contractor visited the site when he said he would and gave a very professional estimate in a timely way, quoting one price $1,700 for one way to solve the problem and a higher price $2,300 to solve it in a more permanent fashion, clearly explaining the difference. I decided not to do the work now but not because the price was not a reasonable one - I checked with a general contractor I've worked with and trusted who assured me the quoted prices were fair.

It was big job. He was very honest. The quote was less than the actual price because of some unexpected costs. He took the time to let us know about the changes that needed to be done. He did it very quickly. He showed us the evidence of the need for the necessary changes in cost, so we understood.

They were prompt, professional, and did a superb job. They cleaned up after they were done, leaving no evidence of their being there except a beautiful sealed driveway.
