The design that was proposed at the initial visit for the estimate ended up being problematic when the technicians came to do the actual installation. It was only with my help that they were able to solve the problem. I was convalescing from knee surgery so it was somewhat inconvenient for me to have to get up and out to figure out the situation. It ended up all right in the end; they did good work with no mess. The post-installation test confirmed a significant reduction in the level of radon gas in the basement of our house.

Jeff came on site and did an estimation, he is very knowledgeable and did not over engineer the project, the worker came on time and did the whole thing in a few hours. Later on we found out the fan is making loud noise and the company came back and swap the fan.

I was told my system was in good working order at this time. They did not try to sell me a new system but said they would be available to help when my blower fan needs to be replaced.

very professional quote, filling us in on all of the details of both radon and how to get rid of it. Options were explained and the visuals of the equipment and future maintenance (almost none). We felt very educated and informed which helps in making decisions. The buyer of our house decided to have the work done when they move in. I would strongly recommend this company..

Installation went very well. Radon levels were greatly reduced. I had been working with them to check the existing venting and to investigate ways to reduce the Radon level even further. As of about March 1st they have failed to return any of my calls. At one point their answering machine service alerted me that there was no additional room to leave any more messages. They may have gone out of business. I can understand that, but I am disappointed they never called back to let me know about the situation.

It went very well. As he is located in Andover, he gave us an approximate cost and date to do the work at which time if there was something unusual we could reschedule. That was the arrangement we agreed to, as the company is in Andover and giving an exact quote without seeing the layout was not possible. Sure enough, we needed to reschedule but both times they were very punctual and professional. They were very upfront, easy to work with and I wholeheartedly recommend their services.

The crew members were VERY considerate, prompt, efficient. They did a great job, cleaned up after their work, sealed all areas, 'hid' pipes, etc. very well, tested the system, explained it to us. The system is quiet (we don't hear it at all unless we're right beside it at the side of the house) and works exactly as assured it would. Almost a year later and the system is still perfect. I highly recommend this company.

The gentlemen who came very helpful and professional. They explained the process and did a very nice, neat job of putting the fan in our attic. The price was reasonable compared to the one other quote we had and we are happy with the work.

Installation went smoothly. Our basement has many stress cracks that had to be sealed and they got them all. Radon test came back well within acceptable limits.

This was a very odd experience. It took me a number of weeks to get in touch and find a date where we could get somebody out to the house to perform an inspection and prepare an estimate. Once we got the date nailed down, Fred came out and performed a thorough inspection, was very knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything so I had a clear understanding of the work involved, how the systems work, frequency of service, etc... The walk through was a positive experience. I was told 24 hours for the estimate, I told him to take the weekend as I wouldn't get back to him for a few days. And then nothing. I've called Fred back numerous times and have received no response, the walkthrough was 3-4 weeks ago at this point and I still don't even have an estimate. Frustrating experience. Not sure why they would take the time to do the walkthrough and not deliver an estimate at the very least? As I said, Fred seemed very knowledgeable and I had confidence in him to perform the work and do it well, but he needs to get the administrative end of the business in order. Poor customer experience.

The guy who came to do the quote was great. Spent plenty of time looking around and explaining everything clearly. The problem though was how long it took to get a quote back from them! I had to email them three times and call twice before I finally got the quote back and when I did get it back, it was higher than I expected and higher than other providers. Given the experience of having to chase them down just to get a quote, I ended up going with someone else. It's shame cause these guys seemed great at first.

EXTREMELY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE. Our first appointment for an estimate they called 25 minutes prior to CANCEL. I had already made a special 30 minute trip out to the house to meet them and was waiting on driveway (holding my baby) since inside my house was a construction zone that week. We rescheduled for two days later ("Fred" told me that day was wide open), I took a special trip out there to meet them again, AND THEY DID NOT SHOW UP AGAIN...but this time NO PHONE CALL. A couple of minutes after our appointment time I called the contact person "Fred" to make sure he wasn't lost. No answer, so I left a message. I then called multiple times for the next hour just in case he was lost and was driving in a bad calling area. NO ANSWER. I was only able to leave that first message, then after that I couldn't leave anymore as they mailbox system said "Mailbox full". I even sent a text message. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. I stood there on the driveway again, holding my baby, under an umbrella in the rain, waiting for them to show up. I even called them the next day. THEY NEVER CALLED BACK. No apology. Nothing. How does this company stay in business?

Overall the experience was excellent. I spoke with the owner of the company over the phone and set up an appointment for him to personally inspect our house and come up with a design and proposal specifically for our house. We received the proposal for $1,080 about 24 hours later. That was right in the range of the $1,000 - $1,200 that I had heard this service cost from friends and family. We scheduled a time for one of the installers to come to the house. We received a call that the installer's van had broken down on the highway and that would need to reschedule the appointment for another day. However, within the hour he had called back and was able to do the install the same day, which was appreciated. They installed a PVC pipe through the basement slab and also through the outside of the house, running the pipe along the side of the house just above the roof line facing our neighbor and not seen from the street. The fan and motor were also installed on the outside of the house. The install looks very professional and most importantly well-sealed off from the outside. The cost of the project was exactly as quoted ($1,080) and they also provide a test kit, which we sent in about two weeks after the install. Our pCi/L level had fallen from over 8 to just under 2 in those two weeks, so job well done.

We were promised that the job would be finished prior to our move into our new home so that our belongings from our old home that wouldn't work in the new home could be stored in the basement. This company promised that they would work on this Friday and Saturday if needed to pour the cement and install all that the cement would dry prior to our Monday morning move-in. (We were told by Monday the floor would be dry enough for our boxes etc.) When there were issues with the cement mixer on Friday, they let me know that they wouldn't work on a Saturday to complete the job as was part of the verbal agreement. I called the owner about the situation twice, and was NEVER called back. They finally completed the job 4 days late, making our move into our new house messy with concrete trails all over and no new concrete slab on our basement floor for our unused belongings. We then had to rent a UHaul AND a storage unit to put these items somewhere. I repeat the owner NEVER called back, ever. Nor were there ever any restitution made for their failure to meet deadlines. In their defense, the radon system works, and the cement is there, it's a rough slab but it keeps the radon out. However, BEWARE if professionalism and customer service is what you're looking for.

We were very happy with our experience from the quote to the installation of the system. The installers were professional and clean leaving the work areas as they found it. We found Radon Diagnostics responsive to our questions before installation and post installation. I would recommend these folks to any person needing an radon remediation system installed.

They were great. They were quick with there service. Very professional. They stuck by their estimate.

Fred came out and spent a long time explaining to us how his company installs the system, the type of equipment they use, and the mechanics of how it works. They have a 5 yr guarantee on parts and labor, and guarantee a post-remediation level of 4.0 or less. His quote was firm even if they needed to do extra work (eg: install more than one hole in the basement floor), which we thought was great. All in all, Fred was much more friendly and knowledgeable than the other 2 radon companies we spoke with, but we ended up going with another contractor who was $200 cheaper. As a side note, the contractor ended up choosing guaranteed the levels to be reduced down below 2.7, even though the legal level is anything below 4.0. He said that there is some concern that the level may be reduced further in coming years, and he didn't want us to have to redo the system if that happened.

When my wife and I moved into our home, we had the radon tested and the levels were just higher than the acceptable risk values. Eventually we called RDS to come take a look and give us a quote. In speaking with Dick over the phone, he was friendly and explained the entire process clearly. Fred came over to look at the house and provide an estimate. He arrived on schedule and spent about an hour reviewing everything with me. When we had the system installed a few weeks later, the two installers showed up on time and were friendly and professional. Most importantly, the system's working as expected and has lowered our radon levels substantially (RDS provided a test kit when the install was finished). While I don't expect to have another issue at my current residence, I would definitely recommend RDS to someone else and would call them again if we move to another home that has any radon issues.

They were very responsive. I chose them to provide an estimate based on their ratings on Angie's List. They provided an estimate and had people on the job that same week. It all worked out very well. I would highly recommend them based on their professionalism and responsiveness. The overall quality of their work was good.
