Description of Work: ABC Cesspool in Acton replaced my home septic system's distribution box. They were a pleasure to deal with: easy to reach by phone, easy to schedule, prompt visits. I wish I had chosen ABC Cesspool from the start. The first septic company I dealt with was reluctant to commit to scheduling my work request. I called repeatedly, weeks passed, and the company never followed through. The second company had an answering service; never a live person at the other end of the phone number to get a quick question answered. Finally, I took my realtor's advice and called ABC Cesspool in Acton (not to be confused with another company of the same name south of Boston). To my delight, their office phone was answered by a person on the staff, Kathy. She was always polite and helpful. I was able to schedule a next-day visit for an estimate. The estimated price was similar to other estimates I received. The actual work was done very soon after the estimate. Workmanship was fine, and I'm glad to recommend this company for septic work.

Description of Work: Cleaned septic tank for our yearly service, explained how to keep it in good condition for many years to come. He was thorough, more thorough than we ever expected. Quite professional. My husband had used him before and was just as pleased. My husband did some preliminary work to uncover the "hidden by way overgrown weeds" septic tank, so the price was lower than originally anticipated.

+ -1 moreThey were very nice on the phone when I first called asking about whether I needed a septic plot. She said I should get that first and that they can schedule quickly after that. I got the plot and called back. Got an appointment within a week and they were prompt and carried out the work without any problems. My wife said the digging job was executed precisely and the cover up was reasonable (our lawn isn't a picture of perfection to begin with, so impact is a little hard to discern:).
Description of Work: 1000 gallon septic tank pumped including digging it up.

+ -1 moreThe main waste pipe from the house had backed up. The drain cleaning company wanted the tank pumped before they did their thing to ensure the waste would have a place to go. Without an appointment on the same day, Rick from ABC squeezed me into his full schedule. He inspected the tank as in previous years but also suggested I expose the cover to the inlet baffle, which could be the source of the clog. I dug for a while and found the cover. It was not plugged but made the drain cleaning a simple, no mess job, avoiding the basement as the entry point for the pipe routing screw.
Description of Work: Pumped out septic tank, inspected tank and made an important suggestion.

WHEN WE MOVED INTO OUR HOUSE, WE CALLED THEM TO FIND OUT THE HISTORY OF OUR 40-YEAR-OLD SEPTIC TANK. NOT ONLY DID THEY FILL US IN, THEY GAVE US GREAT ADVICE ON HOW TO CARE FOR IT, AND MAKE IT LAST. WHEN I CALLED TO HAVE THE ANNUAL PUMPING, THEY WERE HELPFUL AND PROMPT IN SCHEDULING. RICK SHOWED UP ON TIME, WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL, FRIENDLY, AND QUICK, AND ANSWERED ALL MY (SOMETIMES NAIVE, FIRST-TIME HOMEOWNER) QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SYSTEM. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM MORE HIGHLY!
