My car died at a friend's house. My friends had previously used Ace so called for a towing quote. I didn't know this and was making arrangements with another company to tow it. I used Ace with a previous vehicle and it was a horrible experience. They ripped me off and my car ended up in worse shape than before. I don't trust them in the least because of that experience. After I set up plans to tow with another company, I found out that Ace was already towing my car, without me ever even speaking to them! I called and explained that wasn't what I wanted, and they told me it didn't matter. They said they already had my car on the truck so I would have to pay. I borrowed a car and drove to Ace to wait for the other truck to come get my car because I worried they would try to "fix" it if I wasn't there. They were very rude and unprofessional, and made me pay $50 for a tow I never wanted. The second truck arrived quickly, from American Towing. They are wonderful! Much better people, and better prices. It was well worth it to me to pay them to tow it to a reputable shop that I trust (Burt's Chevron). Having never had a good experience with Ace, I don't recommended them to anyone. I've only had problems and they have never even attempted to make them right.
Description of Work: Towed my car from private property without my consent, and charged me for it.

fixed in time promised. The owner worked late on Friday to get us the truck back for the weekend. Repair was completed, and works great. Price was reasonable; they always answer all my questions, and are very personable to deal with. I have used them for years; I just retired a Mercury Grand Marquis they helped me keep running for 400,000 miles. Great folks to work with. My only caution is that they are so busy, you may not get a quick turn-around on a repair.
Description of Work: Air conditioning on Ford truck; wasn't cooling. Found major system problems.

These guys were referred to us by Kirbo Automotive when our car started to have problems. The problems started with overheating, I took my car in and they said I needed a new radiator. Didn't take them to long to get it it replaced but shortly afterwards, because of the constant overheating, it blew a head-gasket. So I took it back to them and they fixed it. The day after getting it back it wouldn't start. Ace came out and had to take it back to their shop, took them a few hour to fix but it got done. This is where the first suspicions started, when they brought it back they told us they had to clean a part out, but that we would eventually have to replace said part. I can't remember what part they told us, but we never had a problem with it again. A few months later and our transmission goes out, we take our car back to them and they give us an estimate on it. During the repairs they keep extending the time that they needed to fix it. At one point they called us and told us we had a problem with our front axle and they could fix it while they were in there for just the price of the part. I didn't have the money at the moment for anything more, asked them if it would cause any major problems in the near future, they said no, so I opted to get it fixed at a later date. Well about a month after getting it fixed the transmission goes out again. Call them up and they tell us to get it towed in to them. On the way there the tower is talking to my wife, and after she says that we're having problems with out transmission, the tower tells her not to get it done at Ace, they don't know what they are doing. Well after getting the car to Ace they tell us that the axle problems we were having caused use to leak transmission fluid and mess up the transmission work that they had done. Even though they said they would fix the problem for just the price of labor, we decide to take it to another repair shop to get a second opinion. When we told them that they got very unprofessional, they told us we had to sign a form stating that they weren't at fault. When we wouldn't sign they refused to give us our car. They eventually gave us our car after threatening to call the police. We ended up taking the car to Warren's Automotive in Monroe which is about 30 minutes away from where we live. We picked these guys because they had good reviews online. What they found in our car astounded us. First, the axle problem did not cause the transmission issues, Ace totally botched the transmission repair. They said that parts were put in backwards along with a slew of other problems. They even told us about several other problems from when they did work on the head gasket. We've tried repeatedly, and through several venues, to get out money back from Ace's spotty work, but have yet to get it. Think twice before bringing your car here for anything serious.
Description of Work: They, in order, replace radiator, fixed blown head-gasket, and did repairs on my transmission.
