I used Window World to replace all windows in rental property and to replace four windows in my daughters condo. This work was done to satisfaction but then I hired them to replace two glass panels and glass door in my sun room. I signed contract in July and they came in Sept. Two men came, but only one of them spoke English, he seemed to be the head man. He left to go install other windows for someone else after they had taken my old door and glass panels out. He called a friend of his to come help, but he didn't know what he was doing either. My son came over to see what was going on and noticed the man was doing part of the installation wrong. It took two long days and when they left, they did not clean the area at all. Another problem I had was trying to reach the supervisor who told me to call if there was any problems at all. He did not return my phone calls. I WILL NEVER USE WINDOW WORLD again.

It was very good! The service was very good and on time. Their price was very reasonable. The quality of their work stands out. I'm very, very pleased with the quality of merchandise that they sell and that they do back up their warranty. That is a life time warranty and they do back it up because I did have an experience with their product and when I called them, they came out the next day and fixed it. What made me decide to go with them was their price and the quality of windows that I saw when they explained to me. When I went to see the window in their showroom it was exactly what he described to me.

My husband was shown a brochure that offered a color that matched our brick on the outside but no physical sample was shown. It wasn't clear until later that ordering a color other than white not only added an additional $300, but also added another 2 weeks to the 4 week waiting period . About 3 days later, the young salesman called to double check the color & style we chose for the outside of the door.....he had forgotten to put it on the contract my husband signed. 6 weeks later we had not heard a word (and they already had half the payment, $728.) so we called. No response. We finally got an email saying our door was in so we called to arrange our installation. Unfortunately, only half of our door was in.....the other half, we were told, might take another week. We waited and called the next week. Hurray!! The door is in and the installation was set. The installers arrived, my husband ripped all the molding from around our French doors, removed pictures, furniture and plants from the area and we prepared for our new door.........but it was the wrong door. Instead of "Desert Clay", it was "Castle Gray". They reordered the door, but it would take another 3 weeks....this is what they called "expedited" service since it was their mistake. Again, only half the correct door came in first. So...the supervisor finally suggests that we put up the correct main door with the incorrect slider until our other slider came in. OK....fine. Just do it. We made arrangements for the installation....yet, again....and it turns out they had ordered the door with the slider on the wrong side. They offered us a refund that afternoon. And now we are back to square one and trying to put our old door back together. NO ONE should ever do business with these people.
Description of Work: We had a Window World salesman come to our home May 30, 2013 and ordered a sliding glass door to replace our French doors leading out to our pool & patio. Some minor wood repair was added to the price of the door.

They did a good job installing the windows and cleaning up their mess. It would have been a decent experience if they would have just hauled away everything. I was left with burglar bars they took off my sliding glass door. They didnt have room in the truck but they would come back to get it. 8 days, an email (rate your experience), 2 text messages, one phone call (they said they would come the next day and i waited all day.) and a phone call to the office later and it is still in my yard. To me the job is not complete. I should have withheld part of the final payment unitl they picked it up. I will know better the next time. I sent an email to their customer service today. I guess I just wait and see what happens.

The guy they sent out was from some backwoods part of the country. He was breaking the windows from the inside, pulling the glass into the house with no regard to it getting all over the place. And I mean there was glass everywhere, even in room across the hall from rooms he was working in. It was almost like he was trying to see how fast he could pull his crow bar into the glass so it would travel farther. He took no steps in preventing his muddy shoes from dirtying my carpet, and I found places that looked like he actually wiped the mud off his shoes intentionally. He also pulled trim off the back of my house, and I found it days later all over my backyard. There was also badly caulked areas, where air was getting in. I called him and complained. He told me he'd be at my house at 6:00 the next MORNING, and that was the only time he could make it. At 6:30 I finally reached him, and told me he didn't like the way I'd complained about his work, and wasn't coming back out. I told him that p***** me off, and he started cursing at me. I called Window World. They sent a supervisor out who said he'd replace the trim (took a piece with him to match), and have the windows properly re-caulked. I couldn't get in touch with him after he left, and no one at W.W. would return my calls. I had to caulk the windows myself, and have never been able to find a matching piece of trim that he took with him. NEVER use these people.

I was pleased with them. We had a unique problem because we were also going to replace some decorative shutters. We had the windows put in first, then when they came to do the shutters and remove them there were some gaps in the siding. Although it was not Window World's responsibility they took care of the problem for me so the new shutters could be installed without those gaps. They went out of their way and had their best crew to come out and take care of the problem for me. I will use them again in the future.

.They had advertised $189 for their cheapest windows and I ended up not getting the cheapest window. We got one with the triple glazed glass with argon gas in it. We researched several window companies and considering the removal, the installation and the cost we felt we were not cheated. So I was very satisfied. The windows work very fine and I love the fact that you can clean from inside and you don’t have to climb up a ladder. I also got a good warranty on the windows. They were very responsible. When they installed them they were careful and they cleaned up after themselves. If I need to replace windows in the future I would use them again.

They came out about a year ago. The cost was very high and it was much more than $189 per window. They were okay but not wonderful nor horrible. They were fast and efficient. They did the work quickly but I guess I felt slightly duped with the advertised price verses the final cost. Our window has a kind of an arch at the top. We have two front windows but we had to pay for four windows because of that one arch at the top. It costs for a complete window just to put that one small piece in. They said it blocks out the heat but I personally haven't seen much of a difference with it. It might be very slight and we did get the energy efficient windows for that as well.

They did a good job, I'm very happy with my windows. They were very professional, the windows are great. They fit properly, they cleaned everything up. They were careful about leaving any glass behind because they had to break all my windows to get them out. They were very careful not to make a mess. They cleaned up some dust and some trash and I told them I would pick it up and they cleaned it up anyway. I was very happy, they came out when they were supposed to. They took the amount of time they said they would take. I was very happy with that. The people who installed my windows, one of the people locally said they couldn't communicate with their installer, I could communicate with them because I spoke Spanish and they did a really good job. I don't remember their names but they were really good installers.

It was not a good experience. They sent inexperienced window installers that came to the house and did not have the skill set to install the windows. We purchased hurricane impact resistant windows that they mis-measured. They tried to play off non-impact as impact windows twice. I threatened to press charges against them if they did not come through with what we purchased. It took them 6 months to do the job because they would not comply with the request to finish the job. They tried to make us accept those accommodations with the non-impact windows to finish the job and we refused. I will never use them again. You are not getting what you are buying. The high price I paid for those windows does not reflect the service I received.

I went with Window World because they were the cheapest. The salesperson was pleasant, and the windows were ready to be installed within the agreed time frame. Those were the only good things about this experience. I had to move all of my things out of the way of the windows to have this done, and waited after being ready by 11AM as instructed. I called the Window World dispatch in Baton Rouge around 3PM, and they told me the installers would be there soon. I waited and waited, and then the installers called to say they didn't want to come that day. I insisted that I was not going through this again, so they finally came, after 5PM. I had to sit there and watch everything the installers did - they tried to put my windows in crooked!!! Both of them spoke very poor English, and they were very rude to me when I insisted they use a level to check the windows (I was correct, they were badly crooked). I was very upset with the job - there were marks all over the windows they said they couldn't get off, and they gouged a large scratch to the silver metal part of the white window. They said the office was closed, there was nothing they could do, they just put in the windows, problems were not their issue. I called the office and it was closed, so I left a voicemail and marked the instillation sheet, "Paint gouged by installer, black marks & red marks not cleanable on the frame. I do not accept this instillation, your office is closed for the day". I called the next day (the Baton Rouge office) and was told customer service would send a field supervisor within 2 days. I called back over a week later and spoke with customer service again, they advised the complaint was noted, but accidentally not assigned to anyone. I emailed the national corporate office when I still didn't hear anything, and I was finally contacted by a field supervisor. Unfortunately, my grandmother got very ill at this time, and I asked for them to wait until I was able to meet with them. One day, a person just showed up at my front without my agreement even though I told Window World my 93 year old grandmother was sick and I was staying with her. He caught me while I was picking up clean clothes. I was in a hurry to leave, he showed me where he got the marks off the windows, and told me he could paint over the gouge. I told him I wanted it in writing that painting the gouge would not void the warranty because the paperwork with the windows said painting the window voids the warranty, and he said he would leave that in my mailbox as I was on my way back to grandma's. Instead, he left a handwritten note (not signed or on company letterhead) saying they would have a new screen for the window "in one week". The screen was the area that could not be cleaned, and had the large gouge that went down through the white paint to the silver part. When I first saw him, he mentioned that he had been looking at windows all day that the "Brazilian" installers had screwed up, and something about the Brazilian's installations always having problems. I was a bit surprised that they use installers that they know cause problems. This was at least 3 weeks ago, I have never heard from them again about the replacement screen. Initially I was planning on eventually getting 6 other widows replaced by Window World, they were much cheaper than anyone else to replace these 2 front windows, but I will just wait longer to save more money to get someone else, I am not dealing with this company again.

It took 3 guys, 1.5 hours to replace all 10 windows, installed, caulked and cleaned up. They showed up at about 7:30am and finished right at 9am. 2 of the window panes were cracked when they installed them but they had a form filled out when they were done stating that they were cracked and took down the barcode for each window and said that they would have replacements made and shipped to the house.

They showed up on time. They will try to start you out high and sell you more product. They were trying to charge me $100.00 to haul the windows away. I told them to take the $100.00 off so I could just have the garbage men take them. I wasn't to keen on that aspect. But overall, the work they did was good. That is why I ahve hired them several times and recommended them to other people. I think so much of them, I hired them to do my daughters house.

I just wrapped up my business with Window World. Let me tell you how this went down. I was assured by the salesman that my handmade cedar storm shudders would still work after installation (as this would have been a deal breaker) so I gave him the go ahead and about a month after paying half down on the windows, A couple of Brazilians showed up at seven in the morning. Once again, they assured me in their best spanglish that my shutters would still work, and proceeded to run around the house with glass cutters on the outside of the house marking an X from one corner of each pane to the next. The next thing we knew, we were in the middle of a c*** storm of flying glass. They ran around from the outside with hammers and smashed in the windows. My wife ran into my eight year old daughter's room to find her sleeping and grabbed her from the bed just after a piece of glass roughly 5" by 7" landed next to her face only to hear "ohh... I veddy sordy maam - veddy veddy sordy...." We then watched in disbelief as they ran around picking up pieces of broken glass in and around the house. It was too late by then. You wouldn't believe how quickly a couple of South Americans can break almost every window in a house with a couple of hammers. Although we left them their requested three foot clearance between windows and furniture, we still found broken glass in our bed that night. I know what you are thinking - why didn't they just pull the rubber seal out from the outside and pull the single pane out from the outside and place it in the garbage? Also, why use a glass cutter if you are just going to take a hammer and smash the window. Also, if you must break the window after scoring it from the outside, why not do it from the inside. Any dullard knows you only have to pop the window lightly with a leather gloved hand from the other side to break it into equal sized pieces along the cut. That one, I can?t answer but as far as the smashing I think, simply put, it was a simple issue of time. They wanted to install eight windows in three hours and get out. They had the gall to want me to sign off on the job as complete to my satisfaction. It's all about get in, get out with what I must assume were illegal aliens. No, I didn't check their green cards, but given their poor mastery of the English language (and therefore inability to communicate with me - the customer) I'm betting it's a safe assumption - but I digress. After running around and picking up the biggest chunks of glass, they ripped out the old frames and started installing the new windows. I'm not sure how they managed to break the brick around my daughter's outside window sill but I know they crammed the new frame into the hole which was too small. This made the vinyl window frame bow at the bottom leaving a half inch gap on each side of the bottom. It wouldn't seal when shut. After I saw this, I told them it was unacceptable. After the obligatory "We soddy, we feex eet sir." They pulled the window frame out. Mind you, the window had fresh caulk around it. Did they bother taping the brick sill and sash you ask? Well of course not. Now I have caulk smeared all over her outside brick bedroom window sill and sash. It will not come off. This wasn't the only window they made a mess of. I gave them a car wash wheel brush and a bucket of water. They got most of the others clean but not that one. It was in the sunlight and dried quickly. There is hardly a window that doesn't have one eighth to one quarter of an inch of bow at the bottom - I must assume it is because they were all crammed in. This makes the screens worthless for keeping bugs out. At least the rubber seal at the bottom allows the window to seal. We had a knat problem in the house for the past month. Not unusual - this is swampland, after all - I set off bug bombs in the house last week to kill them all and we returned, opened the window to air the place out and I watched as they came right back in from the bottoms of the screens. Every one of the windows that they installed has a mess of spider webs and dead bugs along the bottom of the frame between the screen and window. They are worthless to me now. They scared the paint and chipped the drywall on the inside of the window of my newly painted master bedroom. They gouged a chunk out of that wooden window sill and others. I could go on and on... My daughter has found several pieces of glass in her room since this event. I'm still finding pieces of glass around the house. I'm looking at two more pieces I just found as I type this. I moved every piece of furniture and vacuumed several times since this happened and I doubt we'll ever find it all. After a month of apologies from the contractor and failed attempts to find a way to satisfactorily fix my shutters, I was given 189 dollars off of my installation price of $2577. Of course, this won't even cover the price of stitches at the ER if or probably when one of us cuts our feet on a piece of broken glass. I can now never let my daughter play in the back yard in flip flops again. The bottom line here folks is to never hire window world and never allow non Americans on your property to work. I call businesses and that hire people like this ?drive by contractors.? They sell you a product and send in the Illegal?s to do the job. The only time you see them after that is when they show up for the check.
