This is the exact words from the customer. I had done my research and called at least two other companies before choosing Sunlight Contractors to install open cell spray foam. I chose them over all the other competitors because of the excellent customer service. They devoted a considerable amount of time explaining the process and answered all my questions. They did a great job with the spray foamed attic encapsulation, and the next day we felt a real difference in temperature. They delivered what they promised! Ira and Corey are highly professional!

After we complete a job this is the written report we give them. According to ASHREA standards, residential dwellings must have a minimum of 0.35 air changes per hour. This means approximately every 3 hours your home should have a complete new set of outside fresh air. This is important for many reasons to include breathing air, combustion air, diluting indoor pollutants like cleaning solutions. As well as moisture build up concerns. To calculate whether or not a house fits this minimum ventilation requirement we must perform a door blower test to see exactly how much the house is "leaking" to the outside. Once we have this number we must calculate the volume of the house to determine exactly how many cubic feet of air the house contains. This number divided by how much the house "leaks" will tell us how often the air is being changed over. Currently in your home, which is approximately 18,124 cubic feet of air, the air is ventilating at a rate of 0.53 air changes per hour with a test out door blower number of 3,145 cfm50. Coming from a test in of 4,060 cfm50 or 0.69 air changes per hour. Since you also have the spray foamed attic encapsulation, the insulation is top notch as well, so I'm excited to see your next few electric bills. I'm sure you will be excited as well. Great group! Very professional! They are experienced in spray foam and give you all the details on what to expect. I was always hesitant to do spray foam because I wasn't certain about what to expect. But, Ira and Corey answered all my questions and provided me with as much information as possible. Since they did the spray foam in our attic, our house has been very cool and comfortable (whereas before, it couldn't keep up with the heat demands). Our house is currently 72 degrees after spray foam. But, prior to spray foam, this 95+ weather would have put our inside temperature north of 80. This has probably been one of the best purchases that we have made for the house!

I had Sunlight spray foam the 4 attic spaces of our 90-year-old home in Metairie on the first day of summer, just a few weeks after purchasing it. The crew was on time, courteous, professional and very efficient - they did both a great job and cleaned up after themselves like true craftsman. The difference in our home was immediate - after spraying 5.5 to 6 inches on all the roof surfaces, the air leakage from the attics was cut in about half. The house now holds temperature when we are away much better, never getting above 81 degrees even on the hottest days. Previous owners of our house tried to solve their comfort problems with more air conditioning, installing both a 2.5-ton and a 5-ton A/C system in the house. The 2.5-ton used to run about 12 hours a day to cool the uninsulated Western end of the house, while the 5-ton ran 12 hours a day cooling the upstairs bedrooms and living room. Since installing the foam, the 2.5-ton unit runs no more than an hour a day in the evening, and the 5-ton unit is down to 5-8 hours depending on the weather. Time will show how many Megawatts we save compared to the previous owner, but the early data suggests quite a few. I couldn't be happier with Sunlight Contractors product, professionalism, price and certainly the RESULTS! I can't recommend them enough, and they will be my first call when we decide to tackle our lack of wall insulation!

Ira and Corey did a fantastic job from start to finish. From explaining the different types of insulation to showing me exactly what work would be done, the guys made sure that I was well informed and confident in my decisions every step of the way. Every time I called Ira he took the time to explain the science behind the different types of insulation to help me understand my options and make an informed decision. My attic went from having zero insulation to being airtight. The work looks great and the crew made sure to seal every space in the attic. Looking forward to my next electric bill!

It was excellent. The person who would oversee the installation showed up to go over the details and make my options clear. He was forthcoming with informed answers and information. The company send links for more information on the difference types of insulation. I was able to make an informed decision regarding the type of insulation that was best for my home. I chose cellulose insulation because I do not have central air and heat. My house has 12 foot ceilings and a large attic. The cellulose gave me the best, cleanest and safest coverage. Its been working great. I'm in New Orleans. Its June and has been pretty hot." My home has been very comfortable. At night it gets too cold sometimes.

We received excellent, informed customer service from Sunlight Contractors. All our questions were clearly answered and we were even recommended a roofer to help fix a 10 year old leak that just wouldn't quit no matter how many previous roofers had attempted to "fix" it. The process of obtaining an estimate is transparent and thoroughly explained, prices are appropriate given the quality of the materials used and and the services are in full compliance with industry standards. We look forward to reaping the benefits of a cool house and lower electricity bills thanks to the work of Sunlight Contractors.

[Member Name Removed], Thank you for taking the time to do your research on which company to choose. Spray foam insulation is a very serious project when you are deciding if a contractor is certified and licensed. Just check with the LSLBC and find out if they are licensed residential or building contractors. The person giving you advise to often is a liar and doesn't have the licensing to back up his advise. That's when homeowners make all the wrong mistakes. Go to [hyperlink removed] look for Gold Star Contractors in your area. Or Google search "Master Spray Foam Installers" in your area. Go to the LSLBC website designed to help homeowners. Find out what type of license your contractor has. Don't let a company with a Home Improvement Contractor registration give you advise. There is absolutely no testing involved and my 21 year old son who is straight out of college with no contracting experience can get the license very easily. "Caveat Emptor" Buyer Beware!!!

It went very well. They were very knowledgeable of the product. Installation went very well and it was sprayed uniformly. The ensured to keep the cement wet on the ground so nothing would stick if something dropped. I suggest that after it is sprayed to have it painted since my application was exposed to sunlight. I don't have drafty floors and stays cool in the summer and not freezing in the winter. I recommend this company and product.

Hi [Member Name Removed], Time flies when your feeling comfortable. We completed your job 2 years ago 5/5/14. Our satisfied customers are still taking the time to write about their experience with Sunlight Contractors way after the job was completed. The reason [Member Name Removed] is so satisfied is that when anyone calls a spray foam contractor make sure you ask what R-Vale they are going to apply on your project. Simple layman terms is an air sealed R-Value is everything when it comes to spray foam. Not the amount of inches. In the attic we recommend R-22.5. In the walls R- 14 and the same on your sub floor or crawl space. Do your research and understand the products being used, then you can't go wrong..

Our attic was getting very hot in the summer and cold in the winter and was affecting our home from the temperature extremes. I tried different contractors but return calls took forever. The process with Sunlight and Ira Bosch in particular was very professional and thorough. Phone calls were returned PROMPTLY and my questions answered in depth. I was given many documents outlining the process, materials, etc. and a detailed estimate all of which I was encouraged to read. When they first came to the house for an estimate they informed me that we still had old knob and tube electrical wiring that is not up to code. By regulations, they could not spray foam up there due to the old wiring, so first we had to replace that wiring. I was pleased that they did things by the book. They made a detailed list of what I needed and also told me what other things needed fixing. I didn't feel any pressure to agree to extra services. Impresively, Sunlight showed up on time when we scheduled the work and they finished the work fast and professionally. They were friendly, too. I finally went up there and looked around and they did a clean, great job. The attic and house are considerably cooler now. We are happy with the work they did and especially the professionalism. The only other thing I would say is be prepared to write many reviews, but they're worth it.

The entire process was sooth and handled in an extremely professional manner. I have a house in New Orleans that was built in 1977 and over 4,000 square feet. It has two separate heating and air conditioning units which I recently upgraded to the 2-stage variable. My wife is from the North and hates hot weather...therefore, our home temp is permanently set to 65. After I upgraded the air conditioning units, my average monthly bill during the summer was approximately $650-700. After I got the insulation of my attic done, the first bill in summer was a third of my regular bill. I thought this was a fluke...but the reality is that now my monthly bill is on an average $250-300 and the home is still an ice cube. Thanks Sunlight contractors for the wonderful work. Dr. Rao

Almost TWO YEARS ago we did this job and the customer [Member Name Removed] is raving about the product and installation. His home is so much more comfortable and he's saving money on his utility bills. In the summer in Louisiana attic temperatures during the day can exceed 160 degrees, his doesn't go over 85 degrees. When applied correctly spray foam is a miracle product. When you read all our reviews and see what the customers say whom we performed work for we have an impeccable A rating. The only 2 bad reviews we received on Angie's List were from 2 customer that we did not provide a quote for and never visited their home. They were just having a bad day and were upset i guess. Nevertheless if you decide to get a quote from Sunlight Contractors we can assure you that the person providing you that quote is a licensed Residential and Commercial building contractor certified by the Louisiana State Board of contractors. Never take the advise of so called contractors who aren't licensed because you will get the wrong advise to often and never have recourse if the contractor makes a mistake. From start to finish everything went extremely well. Ira at Sunlight offered a variety of options, taking lots of time to explain the science behind the insulation., and answered all of my many questions before the contract was signed. Cory and his installation crew were obviously very experienced and did an excellent job. I'm truly amazed at how well this insulation is performing, and the house isn't even completed.

[Member Name Removed], This is the third home we have done for you. This shows all our readers that Sunlight Contractors try's very hard to please everyone. We recently had a customer who demanded that we come out and inspect her home . It was a 140 mile round trip drive. After looking at her home on Google maps we told her that the guesstimate of 1600 square feet she gave us was way off just by looking at the high pitch of the roof line on Google maps. Needless to say she gave us an F review because we quoted her over the phone rather than taking that 140 mile drive. YOU JUST CAN'T PLEASE EVERYONE.

my husband has a terminal illness, i am trying to get a bonus room cooler so I can get some family come live with me to help. I called for a quote was told that they googled my home and it would be way to expensive...i cant remember if we even discussed a price limit yet....... said just keep our phone number for the future.... would only do the job if he was able to do EVERY CORNER / INCH of my attic. well......part of the "googled home roof line is the garage, but i was told i would need to totally insulate that also to get the benefit of this type of insulation. I understand there is a process to this type of work, but what i don't understand is how can you access a home / attic situation over the googled earth site. This upset me so much that I totally lost my cool with the guy. sorry mister ( you know who you are) ... I won't answer your call right now ...... until i cool off ( what my attic needs)
Description of Work: wouldn't even take a look

To all our readers obviously no matter how hard you try you just can't please everyone. [Member Name Removed] Magge, You told us that you put in 2 solar fans for $2000 by your husbands friend and they don't work and your bonus room is unbearably hot. You also told us that you are on a fixed income. [Member Name Removed], You are the person who called us.We didn't solicit or call you. We had a very pleasant and respectful conversation and i truly said that it's admirable of you that you take care of your terminally ill husband as you stated in your grievance review. After speaking with you our company went on Google maps and your home has 3 very high pitched roofs. In our conversation the first time we talked and you were very sweet and kept on asking how much would the cost be to spray foam your roof line because you wanted to know if you could afford it. After assessing what you were asking i gave you an example for 1600 feet of roof line that it would cost around $2600 When i called you back 3 days later after seeing your home on Google maps I wanted to let you know that the 1600 foot approximation was not correct. Your roof line is well over 2800 to 3200 square feet with the high pitch of your 3 separate roof lines. When i politely explained that, you started saying "can i do part of the attic". I said "it wouldn't work because when you spray foam you need a continuous monolithic seal not just part of an area". YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. Because you can't remember what you were asking about "how much it would cost" several times I quoted you a rough APPROXIMATION of 1600 feet the first time we talked. When i called you back after seeing your home on Google maps you became very upset over the phone and rudely hung up. You had a bad day and you took it out on Sunlight Contractors You are a homeowner who has been taken advantage of and we just didn't want you to experience the aftermath of what the solar fan fiasco did to you. Apparently without us ever going to your home, only trying to help and give you the correct advice, you decided to write a false review and try to ruin our impeccable reputation. I don't know if another company put you up to this or not but based on our information on Google maps the 1600 square foot approximation was half the size that it shows.

We had a terrible paint job done in October by a shady contractor. In March the paint on the front of the house started peeling off. We are also in the process of selling our home. We called John, he was punctual, and he assessed the damage. The estimate was comprehensive. We knew what had to be done and he broke down the cost. John and Lou showed up on time, and even worked around the weather (it rained a lot the week they were scheduled to do the job). The day the sky cleared up, they were at my home at 8:30am. They worked diligently, and carefully. I'm am beyond pleased with the great work they've done. I'm also happy that the new owners of our house will enjoy quality work, and an awesome looking house!
Description of Work: Repaired a very poor paint job from another contractor.

I sincerely hope you all take the time to read this, and that it influences your decision to go with Sunlight. My journey began months ago. I had several estimates prepared and in the process of doing so I realized that spray foam does work. across the board, as described. The cost is relative to sq.ft so expect to pay around the same with any company. The issue with chosing just any company based on ratings isn't going to help you much in chosing the best company. There is so much more that goes into this than simply a "chuck with a truck" spraying abd praying. Unless you are given an opportunity to learn about spray foam, how do you even know it's correctly installed? How do you know you're getting the exact same application as is marketed? And what about cleanup? How do you know your spray foam even made a difference until the summer? Do you expect to have a detailed company report upon job completion to see exactly how much air you were leaking, or how often your AC cycles before and after?? Seems complicated, right? WRONG!!! Ira and Sunlight is the only company i found that performs such service(s). Ira is the most communicative contractor I have ever worked with. His crew is not only the most decorated licensed company (check out the website, sunlight has more licensing than the DMV) and the crew...hands down the most organized and diligent group of professionals in this market. I can't imagine anyone has more certification and experience than Cory (he was the "General Patton" of the job and worked closely with his crew to ensure every detail went noticed) and when it came to the end, Cory did a walk through with me. I didn't even realize how thorough the cleanup was until he did. And then, I got my "blower door" report which numerically PROVED that you had a significant change begire and after, not just a subjective opinion that "you will notice a difference when it's hot" and leave you wondering. Bottom line: CUSTOMER SERVICE and CARE concerning the quality of life of the customer and the families living in the house. Sunlight is the only company I found that works with very significant commercial installations as well, which leaves NO room for mistakes and excuses...big contracts...but no job is too small. This degree of qualification and service was extended to me just the same. Thank you Ira! Thank you Cory and crew!! And thank you Derrick, for doing the estimate with me, and not just taking a measurement and leaving like the other 5 companies did...one company didn't even go into the attic amd did TWICE as high as Ira and Sunlight. So, in closing, if you really want to know what's going on with your attic, and how spray foam will change the quality of your life, this should be a no-brainer folks!!! I am so glad I spent the money, it's been 1 day since sunlight completed the work and I'm literally CHILLY in the hottest room of my house...the AC hasn't run in hours.
