The experience exceeded my expectations! In 2015 we had Sunlight come out to install spray foam installation. If you are in doubt whether or not this works, BELIEVE ME it does. In 2014 we had double pane insulated windows installed because everyone told us they would do the trick since our windows were over 40+ years old. Well, they were somewhat right, it blocked out the noise, unfortunately the house was still hot! The air conditioning never kicked off during the summer and the house stayed at 88 when the thermostat was set on 70. It would finally reach 70 at about 2 in the morning and would finally kick off for about 45 minutes and then it started all over again. We had ceiling fans in every room plus a window unit in our bedroom. It was totally miserable. We started looking & doing our homework on spray foam insulation. We received quotes from other companies but as their sales people came out it was a quick walk around the property & just throwing out a number. Not one of them sat down and explained exactly what would be needed & done to protect the investment & cost savings to our home. Sunlight came out and not only spent an inordinate amount of time with us but did a door blower test, walked around the property, went up into the attic, showed my husband exactly what was needed and told us the best avenue to take on the type of house that we have. They also explained all the different insulation's that were available and what would work well with our home. We had a two-car carport and everyone else was telling us the spray foam would have to be put over the carport area along with the living area. Sunlight told us it would be a waste of our money and their suggestion was to put up to two walls of plastic and spray the insulation onto it and it would create a more secure insulated barrier. We weren't too sure about doing it that way, but now that it is done it is very secure and air tight. Oh, did I mention when we go up in the attic now you don’t start sweating right when you walk up the stairs, it is really actually cool in our attic, that even during the hottest part of the day you can go up and not even break a sweat! The day of the insulation installation, they called us ahead of time and gave us an approximate time they would arrive. They went over everything that was quoted to us and got to work, by mid afternoon they were done, cleaned up and out of there. Ira called after they left and asked if everything was up to our standards and to call him if we had any questions. What is really fantastic is that my unit does not kick on hardly at all during the day. The house stays at 70 all day and it is very cool. One thing I did notice about this company is whether you call them or send them an email, they respond back immediately, which in today's business environment that is usually unheard of. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants a professional job done and service after the installation at an affordable price.

The homeowner, Just called our offices to give us a referral. I asked how she liked our unvented attic assembly we created for her 11/6/2015. They loved it. This homeowner's story was one of hundred's. She was getting quotes from non licensed so called contractors who did not give her or her husband the correct advice.. The worst thing a novice homeowner can do is get advice from someone who has an OPINION or a friend who had a company do their house without giving the homeowner the required reports.. The state Legislature needs to organize the insulation industry and get permits pulled on every insulation job.. There are too many so called Chuck-In A-Truck non licensed contractors who can ruin your home because building science and education must apply in each different home...Sunlight is the most licensed contractors in the insulation industry in the state of Louisiana. JUST DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH A HOME IMPROVEMENT Contractor without proper testing that Residential & Commercial Contractors have to study for and take rigorous testing from the LSLBC. My 21 year old son straight out of college can get a home improvement license in one day from the LSLBC. Buyer Beware.

The team at Sunlight exceeded my expectations on the job and were well worth the investment. They sealed the entire attic, completely covered the wall portions that extended into the attic, and brought along materials to run my bathroom fan exhaust through new ducts that blow the air outside (the walls and exhaust work weren't in their estimate but were in some of their competitors estimates as add-ons that would cost Over $1,700 more.) While other companies quotes were slightly lower, reading the fine print showed me why: they were only spraying the roofline (underside of the roof) and spraying The insulation less thick. My choice to go with Sunlight was based on three things: 1) If you research how to calculate a job cost in board-feet they were the cheapest (before you count the extra cost of spraying the walls that extend into my attic!) 2) They were always authentically friendly and professional communicators (didn't feel like talking to a used car salesman) 3) They were very patient and didn't seem like they were trying to close me in doing the job with them right away (they waited over a year for me to be ready to do the job due to other home repairs that needed to be done first) Getting "the extras" on the job, seeing that they carefully cleaned up, and having the job completed early were the icing to on the cake.

After a year of communication i must say your research sets a new bar for our readers. You went the extra mile and did research very few homeowners would ever do. We always stress the depth and R-Value which make any spray foam job superior... So many companies scrimp and spray less than 5" of open cell on the underside of your roof which doesn't even meet code requirements. The thermal heat on hot summer days need as much R-value as possible to ensure your attic would be within 7-14 degrees of your living condition during the hottest of summer days. The exact opposite occurs during the winter months. We are quite please doing business with you... Thank you for bringing this important point out to our prospective customers.

Response from Sunlight Contractors
The homeowner was so impressed with our 3rd party reviews online from homeowners like himself he just wanted to book the production date immediately and have a comfortable home. Sunlight fit it into our scheduling and completed the job in two days. The homeowner is extremely happy with our communication throughout the entire sales and production process. Just to give all prospective homeowners and idea of the process, once sunlight is hired we perform a door blower test in, after we are finished we perform another door blower test out. Then we perform an ASHREA 62.2 (ACH) air change per hour test making sure your home meets 3.5 air changes per hour... Without spray foaming properly and following proper protocol from Osha and the SPFA you are looking to have a Home Grown local "Horror Story". See the report we give each homeowner by a State licensed contractor performing and supervising YOUR job... According to ASHREA standards, residential dwellings must have a minimum of 0.35 air changes per hour. This means approximately every 3 hours your home should have a complete new set of outside fresh air. This is important for many reasons to include breathing air, combustion air, diluting indoor pollutants like cleaning solutions. As well as moisture build up concerns. To calculate whether or not a house fits this minimum ventilation requirement we must perform a door blower test to see exactly how much the house is "leaking" to the outside. Once we have this number we must calculate the volume of the house to determine exactly how many cubic feet of air the house contains. This number divided by how much the house "leaks" will tell us how often the air is being changed over. Currently in your home, which is approximately 6,804 cubic feet of air, the air is ventilating at a rate of 0.83 air changes per hour with a test out with door blower number of 1845 cfm50. Which is pretty good, especially coming from 1.44 air changes per hour at a test in blower door number of 3185 cfm50. Since your air sealing and attic insulation are now top notch in excited to see your next few electric and heating bills. FYI: No insulation product can compare with the cfm savings of properly applied SPRAY FOAM. Sincerely, Corey Yates Sunlight Contractors LLC

My husband and I are not the type to write reviews online, but we feel as though this company has exceeded our expectations and more. My husband, Adrian, is in the HVAC business and has seen a lot of spray foam jobs gone wrong and was very leery about who we hire to spray our house. We then called Mr. Ira and he spoke to my husband for about an hour on the phone answering any questions we had for him. They sent a representative for the company out the same day to give us a quote. These people are professionals!!! We knew right then and there that we wanted them to do the job! The crew was so polite and walked us through any questions we had during the process. Mr. Ira has kept in touch with us before...during...and after to make sure we are 100% happy with the work that was done. It has been two days and our house feels completely different. We are 100% happy customers!!!! I will continue to recommend Sunlight Contractors to everyone we know!!

It went great from start to finish. I was behind schedule on my remodel and they did some schedule shuffling and got me on the books the very next day. The installers did a wonderful job, I could immediately tell the difference in sound reduction with their product. Will use them again in the future! BTW they also do a detailed cleanup after the fact, that's almost unheard of, most trades never clean up after themselves.

The homeowner called and said his feet were like icicles and his floor above his crawl space was freezing. The temperature was in the Twenties and the customer said that when the cold weather came around the last few years it was only freezing up to his ankles. This year up to his knees.. We jumped into action and moved around existing customers to a different production date and scheduled max within a week. The job was complete and now max is going to recommend sunlight to everyone. Normally companies send out 2- men and finish the job in a day.. We send out 4- experienced spray foamers and they work like a precision time piece getting the job done perfectly within 3 hours with prep work, inspection, and clean up on a small sized job. Obviously max made the first step after he researched sunlight and the trust was established. That's all that needs to be done (TRUST) and sunlight can do the rest.

We chose sunlight because they presented the most professional and experienced portfolio that we could find. They came out and did a site survey and took all the time needed to explain the process and answer any questions we had. The owner kept in constant contact and quickly replied to any questions asked. They arrived with a crew of five and did a great job to cover any items with plastic that needed to be protected. They also taped off all outlets so that they would remain clean and accessible. I met a lady in Lowe's one day that used another company and she said that a lot of fixtures and switches were covered up and hard to find. Not with Sunlight! The finished product by Sunlight was exceptionally neat and well done. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Excellent - outstanding and perfectly. I can't speak highly enough of Sunlight contractors;- Ira Bosch and his crew at the Elysian Fields office. Everyone was professional, punctual, appropriate, timely, and hard working. From the very first phone call to the last text, the customer service was just outstanding. I cannot say enough good things about Ira. He always answers the phone and knows who you are, and he always answers emails within minutes - even at 10pm at night. The actual insulation work completed was excellent also. My attic is quite a sight to see. It is insulated just beautifully, as is the underside of my house. I have noticed that my house is warmer, less drafty, and it is holding its temperature much, much better. I have never worked with a company as outstanding as this group in every aspect. They are quite something, and i would not hesitate to use them again, and i can only recommend them most highly.

Amazing! I love Sunlight Contractors.
Description of Work: I write this review to endorse Sunlight Contractors strongly and without qualification. Sunlight applied foam insulation underneath and in the attic of a small house I own. I ultimately chose Sunlight without serious consideration of other, possibly cheaper services. I knew enough about foam insulation to know what I wanted. Beyond that, Sunlight’s professionalism, credentials and strong customer reviews were all I needed to finalize my decision. Obviously, at some point with any service or product, price comes into consideration. Sunlight’s proposal was fair and reasonable. One doesn’t always get what he pays for, but one rarely gets what he doesn’t pay for. And again, no other insulation service seemed as credentialed or as professional as Sunlight. From the start of the process the professionalism was evident, with a prompt visit from an genial inspector whose work quickly led to a formal estimate. From the beginning Sunlight’s Ira Boschnack was constantly in touch, explaining the process, selecting the earliest convenient date and then alerting me immediately when an even earlier date opened up. I have never purchased any product or service—I am 60 years old—that resulted in a level of input and interaction equal to what I received from Sunlight. The Sunlight crew—Bruce, Kyron, Clayton and Braidin and Corey—arrived at exactly the established time this morning. The work was expected to take up to four hours, yet the crew is meticulously cleaning up and preparing to depart less than two hours from their start. A blower test already confirms—one was conducted before the start of the job—that my very loosely constructed, older house is considerably tighter. I only wish foam insulation—and Sunlight—had existed when I first purchased it in 1985. One hears a great deal these days about the development of renewable energy, a trend that will only accelerate. One hears less about an equally critical piece of the clean energy puzzle, which is the construction of energy efficient houses and buildings or the retrofitting of those that are not. Sunlight is playing a important role in making that happen in southeast Louisiana. Again, I strongly endorse this company and cannot be more pleased with the service I have received.

This is one of the most comprehensive comments we ever received. You can tell by reading this wonderful review the passion behind the homeowners opinion. We as licensed contractors can tell every homeowner if your home wasn't constructed tight by a diligent building contractor then you are losing a large portion ol the energy with or without your solar system is producing. I hear in the field all the time "I'm not saving money with my solar system". Customers who bought solar systems from other companies need to understand building science and the flow of your heated and air conditioned air. It's moving in the stack effect from the bottom of your home in a convection air movement straight through your attic. Seal it with spray foam the miracle product and you will see an amazing difference.

Sunlight started on our spray foam insulation project today. They arrived on time, prepared, and ready to go. The first thing they did was they protected the walls and floors with dropcloths, which we really appreciated. Then came the difficult task of getting all of the old insulation out of the attic, which included 50 year old bat, topped by 10 year old fiberglass, topped by 1 year old cellulose. Needless to say, not an easy job, especially with the limited amount of space up there. Ira's crew worked efficiently and effectively to get everything prepped for the upcoming install, and even cleaned up everything and laid out the area rugs before pulling out. Ira and the crew kept us updated on the progress throughout the day, and finished up everything perfectly. We cannot wait for the install to come in just a couple days! Thank you Ira!

We always leave the house very clean and neat after we perform our work. There was evidence of bug infestation so we sprayed a heavy dose of borate solution on the attic floor and underside of the roof sheathing. We spray foamed 5.5"-6" of open cell spray foam paying special attention to the top plates, eaves and soffits. It is imperative when creating an unvented attic that you seal everything. How does a company know they did a great job. You need to make sure the company does a door blower test before and after the job is finished to see if they brought the cfm's down enough. Many times especially in new construction you need to perform an ASHREA 62.2 (ACH) test and check the air turn over per hour. This is especially important when you have gas appliances in the attic. Proper ventilation is a must. Always do business with a licensed LSLBC contractor and a Bpi.org certified Gold Star contractor. Research and double check before you hire anyone.

Where do I begin? Sunlight contractors were among many of different other contractors I came upon when needing to find someone to install general foam in my home. I called around for pricing estimates from numerous companies and Sunlight Contractors, LLC. was able to come out the same day to provide me an estimate. In addition to that, Ira was able to explain to me the different types of spray foams, its benefits and the whole 10 yard. Not only did they gave a good pricing for their services, but Ira and his crew definitely showed good work ethic. They were dependable, reliable and punctual. I would highly highly highly recommend this company for all of your home insulation needs.

Always get quotes from other state licensed contractors. Make sure the quote is transparent showing the square footage being charged, the depth of spray foam including the R-value. Make sure the name of the foam manufacturer is listed with the lot number and date it was manufactured. To many chuck-in a truck unlicensed spray foam companies cheat the public. Sunlight Contractors added spray foam to our attic last week. We have yet to run the AC or heat much in the past week due to fair weather, but we look forward to energy savings and a reduced electrical bill. Our experience with the company was very good. They were on time, did exactly as they explained, completed the work in the amount of time they estimated, and were very professional. The crew was super friendly and even helped carry my infant son down the stairs when it was time to leave the house (federal regulation while spraying). I came back to a relatively clean house with no problems. The work was done seemingly well, which is all you really want. I would recommend this company because the price was fair and the service was extraordinary.

I was reccommended to Sunlight by a contractor friend of mine to do my insulation and I have been thankful for that insight from my first interaction with them. They have answered my questions sufficiently and precisely, and it is clear they are masters of their craft. Thanks

My Air Guard Unit was looking to get a couple of our trucks insulated to help reduce noise, keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. We had initially contacted another company, but long story short they took forever to get back to us with quotes and wouldn't return phone calls when we had questions. We found Sunlight Contractors through google and noticed the great reviews they had. I contacted them and was impressed with how easy they were to work with. They were prompt in setting things up and answering any questions we had. Sunlight Contractors did a great job insulating our vans and we will not hesitate to use them in the future.

They came out to look at the job the same day I called, and I had an estimate within a couple of hours. Within a week, Corey and his crew arrived right on time, and efficiently completed the job in less time than anticipated. Ira on the phone and the whole work crew were polite and patient with my questions, and left the worksite clean. I am extremely satisfied and intend to recommend this company to my friends.

The service has been scheduled for next week.
Description of Work: My husband and I live in an older home Uptown and like so many others, it's drafty and has inadequate insulation in the attic. We chose to go with Sunlight Contractors after getting three separate estimates because we felt most comfortable discussing the project and most confident that the work would be done properly, up to code, and professionally. I spoke to Ira on the phone multiple times before deciding to go with spray foam instead of cellulose. Corey came to the house the day after I first called Sunlight Contractors to provide an estimate. He was very professional and courteous and gave us confidence in the company. We are confident that we will be satisfied with the final product.

I would highly highly recommend Sunlight Contractors,LLC. Ira and his team are very professional and thorough with the work needed to be done. Not only was the he able to respond to me in a quick manner (unlike many other companies), Ira explained and answered all of the questions I had regarding the spray foam insulation and I was very pleased and impressed. Sunlight contractors work ethic is superb. I will definitely be returning back to Ira and his team for any and all future insulations and sealings.

The moral off all these reviews is...Always do business with a "Louisiana State License Board of Contractor" (LSLBC) licensed commercial or Residential Contractor. Don't be fool with a "Home Improvement Contractor Registration" so called Contractor. There is absolutely no studying or detailed testing required. Your 21 year old son straight out of school can get a Home Improvement Contractor Registration. and botch up anyone's home. "Buyer beware".

We found the Sunlight Contractors through Angie's list. We compared a number of different insulation companies and felt most comfortable with sunlight after reviewing their ratings and process. Ira and his team were professional courteous and punctual. His guys get under our home (115 year home ) and sprayed about 1400 sq ft. In close to 2hrs. Our floors were noticeable warmer the next night and felt more stable as well. We couldn't be more pleased with the job that was done and how professional the team was.

It's a pleasure doing business with you. Customers who research and ask questions know that they are getting what they're paying for. To many unlicensed companies spray in depth far less than what the customer paid for. Leaving the R-Value below code and the project ineffective. Never once out of thousands of customers has anyone complained about this important issue to Sunlight Contractors. Our business model is give more than less, then you don't need to advertise on TV, Radio or print adds because your customers spread the word like wildfire.
