 + -1 moreThe rep. was scheduled to come in the morning before work, he showed up an hour late and I was already getting in my car to go to work, already running late because I waited for him. He said he could do the estimate without me being there since he just needs to measure the yard and calculate the cost, he could leave the estimate in my mail box. When I came home from work the estimate was in the mailbox as promised however the man's hand writing was completely illegible so I felt like it was a sign not to do business with Arrow Fence Co. I suppose it could've been an isolated incident but for me it was an exploratory exercise as I need a fence but I'm on a very limited budget so I needed to get an estimate so I can generate an appropriate fund for a project, and I can't afford to not get a great value. This experience didn't lead me to believe I would receive a great value for my money. I don't like to slander any workers, I just wasn't impressed by their introductory offer of a free estimate. I still need a fence...
Description of Work: I called them for a free estimate, we scheduled an appt. for a rep. to come to my house and measure and give me a price quote.

 + -1 moredid not schedule an appointment unauthorized entry on my property Poor quality work did not respond to complaint. after several attempts finally sales person looked at the complaint and promised to fix it. never done Warning for single women particularly senior citizens. The critical one is the breach of contract.

 + -1 moreGreat company that has been around a long time and did not jut pop up after Katrina. I know they will be around if I ever need them.
Description of Work: After having a pretty bad experience with contractors working on my home, I got tons of estimates and over researched having a fence and two gates built. We had just had a swimming pool built in the backyard and that didn't go very well. Arrow was the only company that would answer every question with knowledge. They were professional and reasonable. Anybody can build a fence but I wanted a fence that would last and gates that would not sag. They also were the only co. That had pictures of some of their work and they gave me addresses of fences being built by them in my area. You can drive around and see there name on very old fences that are till standing some even before Katrina. When I would explain to a fence co. That I had my own hardware I wanted to use on the fence ( hinges, locks, handles ) the price would go up, it became a custom fence. Not with Arrow Fence Co. no problem they used my ideas and even appreciated that I knew what I wanted, the sales man said it made his job easier. The two men who built my huge fence and gates finished the job in 3 days and one day was to wait for the cement to dry which is very important. One of the men building the fence has been working for Arrow for something like 30 yrs. so the employees are also happy, that says a lot. The gates were built in there warehouse and delivered to the workers. They fit perfect. After the job was complete the salesman and owner came by to check the completed job. I love my fence and would recommended and use this co. again. Although I know i won't need them for a long time, at least not for the fence they built, it's going to last forever. I did my long and extremely time consuming research and it was worth it.

 + -1 moreEstimator came out and told me that he would call me in two days with a quote. I couldn't get in touch with him for over two WEEKS. After speaking with the management, they basically endorsed his behavior and gave me a very high quote, telling me that it was high because they did "warranty work". Well, really not very pleased with this experience and I won't be going back to them in the future.
Description of Work: I was looking for an estimate to repair a gate opener. Wow, really irresponsible people working here now!

 + 0 moreEach time we call them they come right out and fix whatever the problem is. And we have had several, as these are large gates.
Description of Work: We are a business in the CBD and have a large parking lot with two electric gates. Arrow Fence has a maintenance contract with us for a few years. We call them when we have a problem and every time they have arrived quickly. Each time they have solved the problem with a complete lack of fuss. Professional. Fast. Prompt. Not cheap, but are services are expensive. Both us and them are worth it.

 + -1 moreThis was a very professional company to work with. They were on time and were able to answer our questions. Our lot is a corner lot so we were looking for a a nice fence which they were able to provide. We stopped short of having them install our fence for a few issues. One issue I had with them was we have a small dog so I was wanting him to address my concern over gaps in the fence. He danced around the situation not making me comfortable with their installation process. Another issue came in when we wanted a specialized gate for the back of the house with the car and boat. The company representative was telling us what he thought we should do but it was not what we wanted. We knew we could get the specific gate we wanted but he was having a hard time giving it to us. Once he "gave" it to us the quote came back super high compared to the other 3 companies we interviewed. I have seen lots of other fences they have installed and they look great. I have not heard any homeowners complaining. I guess we had too many issues to feel comfortable going with them.
Description of Work: They came out and worked with us on two occasions trying to figure out what kind of fencing needs we had and to get a quote.

After receiving a quote from this company and two others, I sent him an email regarding the use of my existing posts vs. using new ones. I did not receive a response. I sent another email with the same questions, and still have not received a response.

 + -1 moreWhen my wife and I made the decision to go ahead, we were given an estimated date when materials would be available. Materials arrived as advertised and a start date was agreed upon. Worker arrived at the designated time and was very professional and efficient. Had to wait a couple of days for gate post concrete to set. Worker returned and finished job on time. Old fencing and scrap material was removed at each stage of the job. An overall excellent experience. I have already recommended this company to one of my neighbors.
Description of Work: Teardown and replace existing cedar fence-75 ft. Remove existing page fence-39 ft and 12 ft wide double wrought iron gate and replace with 5 ft high aluminum fence and double gate.

Explained what I wanted and he listened, explained options, and gave me multiple quotes and choices of fencing and length. Promised timely installation. I made my choice, installer showed up as promised, again professional, courteous, and friendly. Fence came out beautifully, installed exactly where and how I requested. Would definately use this company again.

 + -1 moreWe are very satisfied with the appearance of the fence. Even though we had some rainy weather, the installers were able to get the job done quickly. It probably would have been finished in a day, but they ran out of the "gothic tops". This company also did our neighbor's fence; she referred us.
Description of Work: We received an estimate of $5578 for 154' of 6' white vinyl fence with gothic tops on all posts on July 15, 2008. The company did not require a deposit and work was completed by 8/1/08. No tear down of existing fence was necessary.
