This review is long overdue, but our experience with Fakouri was an absolute nightmare. We had extensive water damage inside our house after a tornado damaged the roof and we hired them to repair the roof and basically rebuild the insides of half of a large two story house. It was an expensive job and thankfully we only lost our deposit money with them. They did a slipshod job of patching the roof, then, months went by with repeated excuses as to when they could work inside the house - weeks of telling us they'd be there on a certain day, then wouldn't show up, we took days off from work to meet their crews who never showed up, then when they did show up to work, the work done was so poor we could've hired teenagers in the neighborhood to do it better. We stuck with them for more than six months trying to get things moving forward, then cut our losses and hired individuals to repair the house which took another year - much of which involved undoing the work Fakouri had done wrong and doing it correctly. AVOID this company at all costs, they are the worst major company I've ever been involved with.

Things started out OK. Termite damage was more extensive than we thought and some additional work had to be done. We authorized that and understood that it would add a day or two to the project and cost about X dollars. When the worker showed up for that phase, he arrived with almost no tools. He had to ask us to borrow a tape measure and pencil so he could measure/cut the necessary wood. A different worker was told to remove the ceiling in one of the rooms to allow for better access to the areas that needed repair. Although he had been told to move the attic insulation over to one side, he did not do that and let it all fall out onto the floor below so that area of the house no longer had insulation. We had to remind the contractor over and over and over again that we needed the insulation replaced. It finally was done much later when things got really bad. The next phase involved replacing the sheet rock that had been removed. A different worker was sent in and it took him a full week to hang, tape, and mud sheetrock in an 11 x 14 room. The work was sloppy and we made him do most of it over. Eventually "real" sheetrock guys were sent in, but their work was not a great deal better. Eventually the guy who took so long was let go. Each day we were told what would be finished and each day it was not. About 4 weeks in, the "supervisor" asked for the second payment on the contract. I refused since they had not completed the tasks outlined in my contract. He got a bit ugly and told me that unless I paid him, he was shutting things down and that it was "his" job. Apparently E Jacob Construction subbed the entire job out to Robert Adams (aka Adams Industries LLC). I politely explained that my contract was with Jacob Construction and NOT Robert Adams. He left mad and things got progressively worse. Finally they started bringing in my cabinets and were supposed to start painting them. I provided the paint (high quality which cost way more than my allowance). On the day they started painting, they left a 5-gallon container of oil-based enamel open in one of the rooms. When we went in there to close up the paint, we found wet rags on my new cabinets and partially emptied soda cans on the floor (one had already been spilled during the course of the day). When I talked to them about it the next day, Robert Adams told me that while he was doing the job, those were "his" rooms and I should just stay the (expletive deleted) out of them. He then sent in someone to do the caulking and painting who HAD NEVER CAULKED OR PAINTED BEFORE. I asked why this guy was hired and I was told it was because he had a truck and he could bring the workers to and from various jobs. A day or so later, he (Robert) took the paint so he could paint the drawers and doors at his "shop". Apparently his "shop" is nothing more than his back yard because when he brought the doors and drawers back they were full of grass clippings, dirt, and debris -- not inside the drawers, but embedded in the paint. There were also "spray lines" all over the place. When I asked how he was going to correct this, he (Robert) became even more angry. He went into one of the rooms, yelled at his workers and told them he wanted to be out of this (expletive deleted) house and be done with this (expletive deleted) project. At that point, I called the office of Jacob Construction. Jacob FaKouri came out to the house, saw what I was talking about, and told me it would be addressed. Long story even longer, once Jacob talked to the work crew, things disintegrated to the point of no return. We had been very clear that we needed to have the house completely done by the second week in November as our daughter was coming in from out of state the week before Thanksgiving. We had been sleeping on a pull out couch for 6 weeks at this point and we were pretty tired of it. We rescheduled carpet installation three times based on when Robert said he would be done. We ended up having to pay for our daughter to stay in a hotel because we had no place for her to sleep. On the day before the carpet installation with painting still left to be done, Robert sent someone to complete the work (3 hours later than originally stated). That worker was ill and I asked that someone else come complete the work. A heated discussion ended with me telling Robert he was done and someone else would finish the job. His response was "good luck with that". Again I had to call the office and they did arrange for a painter to come complete that work. It took another two weeks before everything as finally done. Some of the problems we incurred -- door handles put on backwards. Apparently instructions are optional reading. Faucet handles installed backwards and on the wrong side. And necessary parts thrown away because they could not figure out what to do with them. Again, instructions optional. Electrical switches turning off things that they should never have been tied to. Robert and his crew spent about 6 hours messing it up. A licensed electrician corrected it in 20 minutes. Robert's crew showed up without tools and/or supplies. We made about a dozen trips to local hardware or builder's supply stores to get what they needed just so we could move the project along. And finally, they sent me a final bill with overages that were never discussed or agreed to. I've paid them what they asked for ONLY because I don't want to have to deal with them even one more minute.
