Abba Movers

All in all, Abba Movers did an incredible job. The three men showed up about 10 minutes early and got straight to work. They packed the truck like I didn't think possible and fit my entire 3500 sq ft house in one truck. It was truly magic. At unloading, they moved into the new 3 story house with no complaints (or noticeable breaks) for that matter. I had no issues with damage to either house or furniture. All in all it was a great experience and I will use them in the future in a heartbeat..

The Big Deal drew me in, but the service turned out really well. They were punctual and polite while handling my move. I would use them again if I had to move.

These guys are on the ball! Very hard-working and courteous. Our movers (Giovanni, Erben, and Jeff) are absolute animals! They stayed at it non-stop. They took a very short lunch break, but other than that I never saw them slow down. They underestimated the size of the truck needed for the move, but did not charge us for the second trip. The total cost was well within the estimate. I highly recommend these guys!!!

Abba movers came and packed two trucks in New Orleans with only our family's belongings on August 28th. We had a large 4 bedroom home. They delivered to our new house on 9-2-2014 per our request. They also packed our full size black lacquered grand piano with the house furnishings as well as boxes and bins. There was some very minor damage to our piano when it was being set up in our new home. Abba responded quickly and positively and paid for the repair ($350.00) when we notified them of the cost. Our other belongings came in the same condition as when we left New Orleans and the move was thankfully uneventful. Nick communicated and answered all of our questions before and during the move and he was also very responsive after the move was completed. We would highly recommend Abba Movers, especially if you do not want to have other families belongings packed in the same truck and if you need to have delivery on your terms and not the moving companies terms.

Abba Movers definitely provided the best moving experience that I have ever had. They were friendly, professional, efficient and took the utmost care of my belongings. I cannot reccomend them enough!

These guys were awesome! Punctual, responsible and very efficient at moving things quickly and without damage.

Nick at Abba Movers was very cordial, quick to respond to all my email questions, and to set up a convenient appointment. He was very accommodating when I had to change the date twice. I'd paid for a 3-man crew for 2 hours, but only 2 men showed up. I contacted Nick, and he apologized for the error. We agreed that I would instead use the 2-man crew for 3 hours instead, and that worked fine--in fact, it was probably better for the situation here. The young men were hard working, efficient, polite and professional in conduct and appearance. Although they arrived 20 minutes later than the scheduled appointment time, that wasn't an issue for me, and they worked hard in very HOT and HUMID weather without complaint. They didn't leave until I was completely satisfied with the work they'd done. I would definitely use Abba Movers again.

They stored my stuff on the truck while I was waiting to gain access to my new home. That was amazing! They were really careful with all of my stuff and they even helped me with my packing. When I got into my new home, they helped me stage all of the items where they needed to be. They were honest and flexible. They are an independent company, and were $3000 cheaper than the next lowest bid I was given. It was my first time with a big move and they answered dozens of phone calls and questions. They were always friendly. I was able to get in touch with them day or night.

Great experience. The contact person, Nick, is very responsive and quickly & patiently answered all my questions via email, and his cell phone when needed. They handled the truck rental, all I had to do was be there and they did the rest. The 3 guys who came to move were very fast, careful, and extremely pleasant and friendly. Very quiet - no banging, no damage to anything. They were a little later than promised but it was not a big deal since they let me know via text and stayed in contact. I can't imagine a better moving experience than this one & would definately recommend them and use this company in the future.

We used Abba Movers for our recent move from Baton Rouge to Montgomery, Texas. From securing our move date to the delivery of our furniture, everything was great. Abba was able to deliver our belongings the next day when National moving companies were going to have to put us on a delivery schedule. Everyone we dealt with at Abba was extremely professional and handled our entire move with care,

The movers were very careful with our stuff and worked diligently until it was all moved. Because we had two guys instead of the three we needed, it took a long time; but the guys never lost their good attitude and we were given a small, but acceptable, price break because of it.

They were on time and went straight to work. Everything was done to Nick's detailed and precise instructions. At first I thought the price was too high, but when I saw the amount of work it takes to package up a 3 bedroom house plus yard equipment and storage accumulation, drive from Baton Rouge to Fort Collins and unload it all in my awaiting storage facility, it was DEFINITELY WORTH EVERY PENNY. I was unable to be at the storage place but my daughter and son-in-law were there and just raved about Nick and his team. I would use them again in a heartbeat !!!!!

Nick personally answers his cell phone every time you call. You just 'know' by his professionalism, and return calls and follow ups that he is on the ball. You never get the feeling that he's 'ambulance chasing',... just keeping on top of things, reassuring. I KNOW this is not a review of the actual services, but I wanted to give kuddo's just due to the fact that he was SO on top of things. I felt like I was talking to a relative, not a moving company. I felt secure that he would show up as promised and do a great job as others have reported.. And he was very understanding of my cancellation predicament. I will definitely call him again for any move.

This was my second move with Abba and Nick. As with my first move Nick was very professional, and true to his word. His 3 man crew with Dennis H. was excellent and extremely careful with our furniture. As I receive excellent service (like my first move) I tipped each of the crew. I will always go back to Abba anytime I need something moved. THANK YOU NICK!!!!

Nick and his crew moved us 3 times in town and 1 out of state move and they were fabulous! Abba recently moved us from New Orleans to Colorado and everything went well. Nick was accurate with his quote, he was on time, professional, polite, and nothing was broken. Abba also moved our car safely. When we moved from California to New Orleans we had a bad experience with a big name moving company. They were late delivering our items and many things were broken. Moving with Abba was a positive experience and made the move less stressful. I would recommend them 100%.

I agree with the lady who is asking who is writing all the positive reviews for this company. Our move was BY FAR the WORST moving experience we have ever had. To sum it up, the night before they moved our start time from 8:30 to 11:30. They showed up at 12:30. They "finished" at 2:30 in the morning. Most of our furniture is damaged and there are two holes in the wall of our new home.

It was more extensive than I thought it was going to be. It was my first time using them. They should have come out and give me an estimate. The job was underestimated time life and misrepresented by the movers. Nothing got broken or scratched and they were very, very careful. The movers did an excellent job but had I known it would cost that much then I may have gone to another company. They people I talked to were responsive but they were an hour late.

I have no clue who's writing all of these reviews. This was the most horrible experience I've EVER had moving. 1. They were late. They were supposed to be at our place at about 1, did not make it until after 3. Said they had to go get a truck. I would think if they knew we were moving that day, they would already have made those arrangements. 2. Halfway through moving my things, the movers tried to "strike a deal" saying that they would only charge for 4 hrs, but for the rest, I could pay them a flat rate, cash, for the time after that? they said "it will save you a lot of money. It will be between us, we won't tell our boss" but I know when I'm being hustled! Who knows, they probably WERE the boss!! It was only me and my mom (two ladies), my fiancé was at work. Note: half of my stuff was already in the truck, so I'm wondering, "so if I say no, are you going to drag this out even longer"? Of course this conversation took place at hour 4, when it was estimated that this move should only take 4 or 5 hours. We already had everything packed and ready to go. 3. EVERY piece of furniture that I have has a cut or a scratch in it. No exaggeration. 4. The move lasted from 3 pm to 1 AM IN THE MORNING!!!! 10 hours??? I was livid!!!! For a 1 bedroom apt, 7 miles up the road? Great way to move into a new apt complex! That is just unacceptable!!!!! 5. The move was less than 7 miles, and only a bedroom, living room, dining room set?. THATS IT!!!!! After they packed up from one location, they insisted that they needed to stop for dinner on the way to the next location because they were just famished, and would be no good at the other location unless they got some nourishment. REALLY? 6. Im pregnant, so my fiancé was very upset that this move went so horribly, especially the part while he was at work. He called the company the next day to talk about the experience, and got no return call. I am VERY curious as to who is writing the reviews for this company. I find it hard to believe that I had an experience this horrible, and EVERYONE else's was just so great. I based my selection of this company on the reviews, but now I'm wondering about the validity of them. At first, I wasn't going to write a review, because I said I wasn't even going to waste another minute of my time with this awful experience, but when I keep getting alerts of these great reviews? well, I guess today was just the day that the straw broke the camel's back. For the record, I will also do a wonderful review when a company does a great job, but just don't have any respect for dishonesty. There are other small businesses out here trying to do the right thing and give quality service.

I would Only use Abba movers in the future! Nick goes out of his way to keep in touch with his clients as to the initial loading date /time, along when they arrive at the destination. The top notch Professionalism, Personal care and Carefulness with items as large as an antique armoir to a tiny child's rocking chair. Every piece of furniture and glass items were professionally wrapped. There was Utmost care taken with our household items on both ends of the move! Not One thing was damaged!! His moving quote was very reasonable and payment was Not due until his workers unloaded our belongings. I cant give enough praise and accolades!! Our Long distance move was seamless and VERY stress free!! Thank you Nick!

This is the most professional company I have ever encountered. I do not give A's easily, but these guys are phenomenal. The whole thought of moving a 5 bedroom house (including 2 baby grand pianos) across the nation was daunting and very anxiety provoking. Nick at ABBA movers (along with everyone else) were awesome!! He was extremely responsive, polite, and encouraging all the way through. This started with getting me an estimate very fast after I sent him a list of all I had to move. He said it would take one truck, a truck and a trailer or two trucks and broke down the price estimates for all three options. And that is exactly what I paid in the end, even though I feel they did a lot more work than anticipated. No hidden charges, no surprizes. After the estimate via e-mail, they came out to take a look at everything and we scheduled the date for them to load up. I packed and labeled a lot of our stuff myself, but they packed all of our glasses and dishes - nothing arrived in Seattle broken or damaged. They packed all our furniture in blankets and handled everything with great care. These guys know what they are doing! Since they packed our things into a rented Penske truck (and trailer as it turned out) and drove it across the states themselves, I knew where they (and our things) were at any time. I knew exactly when to expect them at the destination. In Seattle they moved some things into our apartment and the rest into storage. Rather than driving with the whole crew, they hired some movers in Seattle, which were also very good, friendly, professional and reliable. I really felt we were taking care of every step of the way and I can't thank Nick and the crew at ABBA enough. Moving is a headache, but you have made this a great experience - THANK YOU!!!!

The move was the absolute best I have ever had. They were on time, professional, polite, and extremely hard working. They took great care in wrapping the furniture in blankets and then shrink wrapping it. The price was very reasonable considering the equipment and expertise .I would highly recommend this company to anyone that has moving needs of any kind. Lastly,the people I dealt with seemed to be of high character, the kind of people I would have no hesitation with my family being around.

I am going to qualify my review as all reviews should be, based on MY personal experience. Ours may not be typical, which is what the friend who recommended them highly said and also the owner and all staff. However, it happened, and thus my familiy has had to encourage me to share since I hesitate to bad-mouth a company. We switched to Abba Movers based on the very high recommendation of a coworker who had recently used them on several occasions. They were said to be extremely careful and great at moving difficult furniture. Ours was a rather simple move - 1 room with large pieces from an upstairs room and then quite a few large dresser-type pieces, tables, etc. We had an estimate from another company that the local move would take 4-5 hours at most, but probably closer to 3 1/2 hrs. We switched to Abba based on the recommendations for being careful. The two movers showed up 50 minutes late (they did call to warn us). We were told they had another move in 3 hours so we expected a fast, accurate move. We thought wrong. When they came, one of the movers appeared "high" on something, albeit very friendly and nice. It took them over an hour and a half to move the one room (everything was empty and no boxes). This probably was due to multiple smoke and bathroom breaks. Needless to say, they did get it downstairs seemingly safely so we were thankful. The one then said, "we can stay all day if it takes that." Which we couldn't understand since there were no boxes and everything was empty, but we smiled and just prayed they would get done in their 3 hrs. Well, the downstairs move barely began and the "high" mover suddenly announced an "emergency" which he had to leave and take the truck and the furniture. Despite our offers to drive him to take care of things and come back to finish, he didn't want us to do that. He had friends come pick them up (since we wouldn't let them take our furniture). Before they left, the "high" one told us they'd be back sometime "after 2." That was nearly 3 hrs from the time they were leaving (and his emergency from what he told us was to run across town, get his kids, and drop them off at a friend's house). The emergency, which had a time deadline according to him, suddenly didn't seem as urgent since they spent 20 minutes walking around the car and smoking (after they pulled around the corner - we moved so we could incredulously watch). At this point, I called the owner and asked for new men to finish the job timely. He said he'd call me back. An hour and a half later I called him again (he said he was about to call me) and said he was sending the "high" one back with a different guy "after 2 p.m." Well we talked it over and said we didn't want the "high" one back, so could the owner or someone else come to finish this right. Well, he said he'd get back with me. The owner also explained the "high" guy's "emergency" which was a totally different story than he had told us personally before abandoning us. Another 40 minutes passed and the owner TEXTED me to say two guys would come around 4 p.m. To make this long story and day a bit shorter, when they came back, they said the truck was improperly packed and they needed to empty it and redo it. These two guys did well that evening, however it took until 8:30 that night to finish our simple move (a twelve hour move!). AND two pieces of furniture were badly scratched. The owner didn't call me that evening with the price, instead the moving guy had to come back sheepishly. We felt the amount way too high for the damage and time. I called the owner who said a $20 scratch kit should help us. These are gouges, not just light scratches we're talking about. He did discount the price, still higher than the first company's price, but we paid it. He apologized and said, as did the movers, that "this never happens." But it did... to us. We were disappointed that two of us took off all day from work to wait around on movers that most of the time weren't there, and then, on the lack of attention from the owner. We were kind to them, no yelling, etc, we just wanted the owner to make things right. He never explained why he personally couldn't come to try to rectify the situation even though we asked him to do so in the afternoon. We were highly disappointed. It was so unbelievable that it was laughable, only too sad because of the damage. Maybe it never happens, but it did at least once. So, take it or leave it...

Nick was great with the scheduling of the move, answering any questions I had and making sure my move was priced fairly. There were some hiccups in the staffing and with the truck, but all of the guys who worked the move throughout the day did a great job of keeping things moving despite the changes. At the end of the day, I felt good about what was done and the price I paid. I would use them again.

I chose Nick and Abba Movers based on the reviews in Angie's List. I have moved at least 16 times during my life and this was by far the best ever. We had a limited amount of time to prepare but packed as much as we could. Nick and his crew came in and did the rest. We had a lot of art work and antiques, inculing a large (10' x 8') double armoire and biblioteque. The two large pieces had to be disassembled for moving. We also had a lot of boxes, which requires a lot of skill when loading to make maximum use of space in the trucks (we needed two 26 foot trucks). Everything was done with great care, respect and courtesy. Nick not only uses good assistants but they are of high moral character and we quickly became friends. It was a difficult move for us because we only had a short time to get everthing done and it took longer to pack than either Nick or I expected. I really do not know how we could have done it all without someone as dedicted, diligent and resourceful as Nick. Nick is great guy and you will enjoy working with him and his crew.

Nick returned my voice message promptly and we scheduled the move. On the day before the move, I received a text message confirming the moving appointment. On the day of the move, I received a phone call from one of the movers letting me know they were on their way and they arrived on time. Based on the size of the move, I was initially worried about the amount of time it would take the 2 movers (David and Jean) to finish. David and Jean were cordial and professional and they worked quickly, efficiently and carefully with no damage to any of the furniture. I will hire them again when we buy our next home.
