I needed a tree removed on a rental property and call several tree removal companies including this one. Broken Branch was promote with the estimate and reasonable in price via telephone. I ok'd them to comise work which would be completed by that weekend. As I live out of town, I visited the property that next weekend and no work had not been preformed. I tried to call and could not reach Broken Branch except via voicemail, so I left a messsage stating that I needed the work done quickly as I am trying to put the house on the market and would just use a different tree removal company for the work. When I began calling other tree services in town from the inital bidding process, I was told that High Branch had contacted some of them to inform that he had the job and there was no need to return my request for bid. However, I was able to contracted High Branch Tree removal that day and they came out and outlined that they would complete the job on 10/9. I recieved a broken call via cell phone that Wednesday from "Tony" stating that they had a cancellation and could fit me in the next day. I agrred thinking it was High Branch moving up the date; although there was a lot of confusion around the work to be completed which should have alerted me that it was the wrong company. I recieved a call Thursday as they were finishing up asking when they would be paid. I reminded Tony that I lived and worked out of town and he could bill me at the address I provided via the written bid (again, still thinking it was High Branch not Broken Branch) or I could meet him at the property Saturday. He would rather be paid Saturday. Upon arriving Saturday, the work was very professional but it became apparent that this was the Broken Branch Tree service which I had fired not the High Branch Tree Service currently scheduled to do the work. Tony then proceeded to bad-mouth High Branch and wanted to have the check written to him vs the company name. As the work had been completed, we paid Tony but wrote the check to Broken Branch Tree service. I realize this senerio is partly my fault as the requseter of service to identify the different (but very similarily) named companies. The work was done very well at a reasonable price but interactions with the owner and the way the business was conducted was concerning.
