J & S Tree Service

They had done some work earlier with trimming and cutting down a couple of trees.  So asked about grinding the stumps.   Shane told me that they would have to take down the chain link to do it but it wasn't that big a deal and paid the extra to do it.   They ground them while I wasn't there and a week earlier than they said they would.  Didn't inspect the work since it was covered with chips and they had done what they said they would before so I paid them.  Later while cutting out some roots I realized they hadn't done anything with the fence and the stumps weren't ground out like was suppose to be.  Called several times before finally making contact and Shane said he'd be out in a couple of weeks on a Sat, but was a no show.  Called again several times before making contact and he said he'd be out Fri but again a no show.  Tried calling again, but no call back.  My fault for not checking the work before paying and not getting it in writing, but Shane should have come out like he said he would to try to solve the problem.  I think that considering the hard time getting in contact with him and the no shows on dates he said he would be there says he realized that he hadn't done the job right.  So I wouldn't recommend him, but if you do treat like a regular business deal.  Get everything in writing, inspect before paying and when paying, if you use a check, make it out to J&S and not Shane and put in the note section what it was for.  That way it is known that it was for tree service work and not a personal check to Shane.

They were very fast, efficient, prompt and the price was what I was quoted. They were very good.

They actually come to the door and say that they would cut the trees. They give an estimate and then they come around. The do what they say. When they say what is going to be the cost then it would be exactly what it is going to cost. I have eight trees and I have one overhanging from my neighbor’s. They did those trees and also the overhanging ones for free. It looks all nice now. They also trimmed all the branches. When I had it done a year before it had costed much more than what they had charged. They came in, did the trees and they left. It was really nice. They cut all the dead branches and trimmed them up.
