Simple process of scheduling, and he made the repairs we spoke of over the phone. Very good experience

I called them three times about a fence project, they never called me back. They are unresponsive.

Repaired 2 gates and broken fence segment. Firmed up sagging sections. Was extremely professional, competent and helpful.

It took more than 3 calls to get Jay to call back to make the intial appt. I rescheduled the initial appt due to bad weather, and scheduled for April 27th. On April 27th I waited all day for him to show up or call. He did not call, so I called him. No answer. I called again and again on Sunday and Monday. He finally called back Monday and said he had a family emergency and was away from his home. I told him no worries, life happens , and we scheduled for today May1. He asked what time and I suggested 8, he was hesitatant so I said let's do 9 . At 8:57 this morning I get a call that he is running late and will be here in 45 mins. At 10:59 he still isn't here, so I call his cell only to go to voice mail 3 times. He sent a text at 11:02 saying he was on his way.At 11:26 he called asking if I was in Kansas or Missouri because he had gone to an address in Kansas. We had discussed on each call that I lived north of the river and the vicinity I lived in. He told me over and over again that I should be patient with him, and that he was going to come up and "look" at the job. I asked if he was going to do the job today as planned, he started giving excuses. At this point I asked how to get a refund, he said no he wanted to do the job, more excuses and he would get it done today. At 11:38 he called and said he had talked to his wife and since I thought getting my fence fixed was more important than his family he just wasn't going to do the job. Are you kidding me???? I don't know how many more breaks I could have given this guy. Patience??? I work in a stressful field and people I have patience of JOB. I don't know what he expected. I expressed an understanding about his family situation, was understanding when he didn't show this morning, was understanding when he was 3 hours late, and really didn't even express frustration until he told me he was just going to look at the job. Then he tells me that he and his wife don't think I am compassionate about his family life. This guy is full of excuses. I equate him to George Jones, A NO SHOW and no call. Highly unprofessional,and blames the customer. If he had only picked up the phone and called, each time he didn't show and was running late, this review would probably have been completely different. I still can't get over him saying he and his wife decided that I thought my fence was more important than his family. Sounds rather childish.

Excellent! Jay put our fence in a couple years ago. (still looks great and still get compliments on it all the time!!) In the mean time - we replaced our roof and completed an addition to our upstairs. In the midst of all the renovations either our roofers or we damaged the latch on one of our gates. We were planning on fixing it one of these days... but hadn't made it around to it yet. Out of the blue - we get a text from Jay who happened to be putting a fence in somewhere in the neighborhood asking how the fence is and if there are any problems - Wow! Talk about timing! I told him about the latch (and that it wasn't workmanship - that we or our other contractors actually damaged it) He came out the next day and fixed it as well as tightened up the other gate just for good measure, and at NO CHARGE!! Talk about good business! We love Jay and still refer anyone we know to Royal Fence! We are going to be doing some landscaping soon and will have Jay come out and take some fence panels down temporarily to do the work and put them back up when we're done. I know we can always count on Jay and Royal to do a great job!!!

Short story - it went great! Jay and the entire crew at Royal were professional, prompt, polite, and knew what they were doing. Our fence is beautiful! My family loves it and so do all our neighbors and passers by! Long story - Knowing that replacing our fence was going to be a financial investment, we requested estimates from several companies. Though many came/gave estimates, a few lower, a few higher, Royal was the only one to meet all of our needs by designing a custom fence to fit our desired look at a very fair price. Jay was very professional, polite and attentive, corresponding promptly via email with me to exchange photos of fence designs (even with it being the busiest part of fencing season!). Ultimately Jay exceeded our expectations by coming up with a custom design for our 6' cedar privacy fence. (our neighbor was putting in a pool and was also planning on putting up a fence and had a few estimates already- we directed them to Jay -they chose Royal put their fence in as well) Once we decided on the design, Jay set up for the crew to begin work right away. We had a few rain delays -Jay kept me informed along the way -as soon as the weather cleared - They showed up right away. On the first day they tore out the old fence and hauled all the debris away, got started on the new fence posts and set up a temp fence (we have a pool, though covered at the time, still required fencing at all times) The crew let me know when they were leaving and when I'd expect them in the morning, also asked permission to leave some of their bigger tools covered in our back yard - which was perfectly fine with us. It took longer than initially expected as they had to hand dig almost all of our fence post holes due to power lines etc that were near - Jay kept us informed of this and the new timeline - and was on-site many times to ensure the work was being done to the highest standards. Day2 they showed up when they said, and made great progress this was now Saturday of memorial day weekend-we didn't expect them to - but they said they'd be back the next morning if it was ok with us. YES! They worked all weekend and finished our fence! - oh, and the extra panel I wanted to hide our trash cans required a post to be set in our driveway - Jay did this himself. On Memorial Day!! We couldn't be happier with our fence. We had many people stop while walking or driving by our house asking us who did our fence! I recommend Jay and the crew at Royal Fence to everyone I know. We had an excellent experience.

Excellent service and work A+++ !! Called Royal Fence for an estimate on a gate repair/replacement. Entire job was completed the same day I called! Went over and beyond my expectations. When i replace my fence in the future, Royal Fence has my business. When my neighbor saw the great work being done at my house, he hired Royal Fence as well! Would recommend this company to everyone!!

I used a deal from Angie's list so I understood he would be swamped. But after missing two appointments a young man showed up without warning late in the evening. The young man was great at what he did fix but could not finish before nightfall so he got half of what was supposed to be done done. What he did was done well but scheduling could have been better.

Jay was very professional. He called ahead of the appointment and asked me to send him pictures of the problem areas of my fence. I thought that was a great idea. When he arrived he already knew what he had to do. He fixed the damaged areas in a short amount of time. Before the repair I had all kinds of problems trying to keep my gate closed but it works like a charm now thanks to Jay. While he was there he also was kind enough to give me a quote for a new fence. I almost forgot to mention that he did all of the work on a cold and snowy day. That's commitment!!

I bought a fence maintenance package from Angie's list. My original plan was to have repairs done and then get an estimate for Replacing the sides, Fence was in terrible condition and we have a pool. We had some financial setbacks so we couldn't afford to replace anything. Mr Pyle offered to make necessary repairs for a minimum amount We are very pleased with his work and feel secure that no one will accidentally fall into our pool

The worker did a very good job. There seems to be a real issue with communication, scheduling etc.

I am very happy with my experience with the Royal Fence and would use their services again if needed.

We had a hard time finding each other for a while, but once we got e-mail addresses exchanged, everything went smoothly. Even thought I could not be oresent for the work being done, everything that was promised was done and done satisfactorily.

The initial call to Jay went very well. He seems very personable and friendly. An appointment was made for him to come out and give an estimate for the cost of the fence on a day that my parents would be here. They were in and out of town as they were in process of moving into the house, so being able to meet on that date was important. On the day of the appointment, my mom spoke with Jay and he said that he had us down for a different day. No apologies or other arrangements or appointments were offered. So, we assumed he didn't particularly want the business and went with another company. I can't speak to quality or timing of work because Royal Fence didn't install my parents' fence.

The repair job was quoted at ¾ to 1 day in length. It took 2 weeks. The crew left the job and told the owner it was finished when it was not. The two sides of the gate were hung at different heights, the trim was not replaced on the stairs, the stair treads were not square, there were screws and sawdust left everywhere, the lattice was not of the quality or detail agreed to. For instance, where a 4? 2x4 should have been used, they used two smaller scrap pieces of 2x4 and left a gap at the end. I had to contact the owner, he did not contact me when his crew said the job was done. The owner did come out and made everything right. But I spent more time exchanging calls/emails/texts then I ever thought I would for a such a small job, I had to pay for several days of boarding my dog that I had not been planning on so they could continue working in my back yard, and never knew when they job would actually be done. I would not recommended them to a friend.

Very poorly. Vendor is unprofessional and unresponsive.

Initial service inquiry made in early June. Response came end of June saying they were booked, but they hadn't forgotten about me. In October I emailed back asking if they ever intended to get the work scheduled. At that point, the work was scheduled and subsequently performed. The work was great, and it was handled professionally. The only downside was scheduling.

We have been in touch via email and I've called them and left a message to schedule the work. In an email they said they would call me early in the month, but I have not heard from them.

After purchase I contacted them, and they returned an email saying they were busy and would get to me. A month later I got the second email asking what the problems were with my fence. Still waiting for a response from that.

It was a little hard getting them scheduled, due to the large response to their Angie's list promotion, but they did an EXCELLENT job and we are very happy with the work. Once there were on site, they completed the work in a day.

This was a great experience!! Jay at Royal Fence & Design was great to work with! Jay and his helper did what they could to my poor fence without going outside the parameters of the Angie's Deal description. He did surprise me with new gate hinges so that I have a properly working gate. He just happened to have the hinges with him! Jay is very knowledgeable. He explained everything wrong with our fence, what needed to be done, and an approximate cost for him to do the work. He was able to do it without a sales pitch and without pressuring us to make a decision today or everything will fall down. Royal Fence & Design will be my first call when I'm ready to do any more work on my fence.
