I contacted David Hazen Group to get an estimate for kitchen demolition, painting, and wood floor installation. It took almost 2 weeks before they came to my home to gather info for the estimate. They said they were busy and supervisor was on vacation so it would be a week or so before they got the estimate to me. Its been 3 weeks and still not estimate. The most annoying part is they haven't contacted me once to let me know when to expect the estimate or to apologize for taking so long. I contacted them 2 times and they said they would get the estimate to me, but no apology or date when to expect the estimate.

Have gutters cleaned annually. $150. Very good. Fixed leak in gutter at my request. Small job. Very responsive.No issues.

On time, quality work and friendly service

Not well. To start with, the entire job was subcontracted out after I hired them. I hired David Hazen based on positive ratings, and ended up with someone I had never heard of before. In regard to the work performed, I had three major complaints: 1) I never received any type of appointment or call ahead prior to either the estimate or the work being done. My wife called me at work to let me know that unmarked van was in our driveway and two men were walking around our house. I was at least grateful that they came out quickly for the estimate, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. When I hired them to do the job, I was told they "would put me on the schedule." I assumed that meant that they would call me to schedule a time to come do the repair when they finished their other jobs. What it actually meant was that they would show up without warning a few days later while I was in the hospital with my wife having our baby. I only found out that they had come because they called to ask where I had left the paint (my quote had specified that I would provide exterior paint, and I had not yet picked it up on account of not expecting them and then being in the hospital.) The crew offered to pick up the paint, but did not disclose that they would charge me almost $100 for a $35 gallon of paint. 2) The price I paid was almost 50% higher than the estimate. Part of that was an extremely overpriced gallon of paint, but I received no explanation for the additional charges. What made it even worse was that I expected the damaged soffit boards to be replaced with new ones, but they just reused the old ones and repaired them with caulk. 3) The quality of the work was not impressive. The caulking is messy and the paint doesn't match, which is made more apparent by them only painting the repaired areas and not the remainder of the boards, so each soffit is two tones with a squiggly dividing line. I could easily have done the job at that quality myself for about $50, but I decided to hire someone because I wanted professional results. I didn't get anything close to professional work in any regard.

They cane and did estimate promptly. They did not come to make repairs when they said. They would set a time and then fail to appear on at least a couple of days. Then there would not be a call or any communication. We had to keep calling them to see what was going on. After it was done, the chimney still leaked.

Everyone from the people answering the phone to the ones who came out to do the work were polite, professional and friendly. I looked at several different companies with several estimates. They were not the cheapest but what products they were using and how transparent they were made me feel comfortable using them over the others. Nothing wrong with the others I did not chose but felt more comfortable with David Hazen. I guess I am a scrooge because I did not realize how expensive everything is. Ha. All four estimates were within a couple hundred dollars from one another. Hopefully I will not need there chimney services again any time soon at this house but if I move or anyone asks, I would point them to this company.

Everything was completed on schedule and the workmen kept me informed of the progress. No issues so far.

It was worth the price. I would advise friends/family to use them.

It was good, they showed up, they schedule it shortly after I bought it and came and did a good job. They were more responsive than most company I think of their type as far as responding to the appointment, the folks that came out to the work were really professional and easy to work with, I think my only complain was that they didn't let me know a head of time that they were coming like which day they were coming so they showed up sort of unannounced but I am very glad that they got the work done so promptly so. Maybe contacting me right before the job was done like the day of the even to let me know like we're coming by today.

Bought a big deal and in 6 mo no call back to voice mails left. Oddly enough my reviews have never been posted by Angie's list. So we will try again but I would choose an alternate vendor.

Great. The work was done in a timely fashion, the workers were friendly and professional and did a nice job with work and cleanup. We are very pleased.

They did a good job overall with the work. I was not pleased with the communication. It took a long time for someone to come out for the estimate and for people to come and do the actual work. I had to call repeatedly and was told people would get back to me but then they wouldn't. For the estimate, the person showed up at the door without any warning at a time my wife and I were both at work saying he was here for the estimate. People would show up to do work when we were away or had plans and we would have to readjust. During the walk through, they looked around and said they would get back to me with an estimate through email. When I asked about the rough cost estimate, he laughed saying, "it won't be much." It ended up being $2,200 plus $2,400 for the additional work which is a lot to me. In the initial estimate, he had what he thought was required plus an optional set of things (an extra $2,400) to fix but did not explain either in detail and had never mentioned the optional part until I called them for clarification. Of course it took multiple phone calls to sort out what the optional work entailed. For the second part, I asked them to do it in three weeks and had to call to remind them that we were in the final four days of the contract when they came to do the final work. Communication was very frustrating.

Clean gutters well, and roof valleys. Notify us in advance of when coming and have reasonable price given difficulty of home.

It always goes very well. The job is completed nicely, there is no mess when they leave. I have nothing but good things to say about this company. The price is good and affordable.

Work is always professionally done, pricing is good. They were a little slow starting the current job but that was because they do quality work. Good people stay busy. They won't send a warm body just so they can say they started the job on time. Frankly, I'd rather wait a little bit and get quality work.
