We had placed our family home on the market for sale. We wanted to ensure the buyer that the furnace was ready for another heating season, despite its age, since it was already autumn. The man who had performed maintenance on the system for the past six years had done a good job but was no longer in the business. So we had to hunt someone who had residential boiler experience. We hunted Angie's List for possibilities but anyone with good ratings already had a backlog before they could help us. So I went through the Yellow Pages and found "Repairs Inc". I debated using an unknown but had no choice. I felt better after I called the company to set up an appointment. The man I spoke to was almost "fussy", but definitely in a good way. He was fastidious in getting our information and verified everything back to us. That was on a Wednesday and he set up an appointment for two days later at 8:30 am. By 8:22 am that morning I noticed its van in the driveway but didn't go to it, since I figured the repair person was going through his appointment sheet or calling about parts or something. At 8:29 a man got out and was at our door promptly at 8:30. His name was John, very nice and polite, but not a big talker. He told me he had arrived early but didn't want to disturb us if we were getting ready for the day. I thought that was thoughtful. He listened to what we wanted, which was to inspect the boiler system, check out and maintain all needed parts, and let us know of any problems. Fortunately, there were no major problems but he wanted to know if I wanted to look at the very bottom of the system to see what he had found. Again, very reassuring. He did advise us that what looked like a metal "picnic plate" that covered a round part on the chimney was not adequately protecting us from possible carbon monoxide levels. He told me he could fix the problem with some cement-type compound. But he didn't have any with him in the van. So he asked if we minded if he went back to his headquarters to pick some up. We didn't. He returned about 20 minutes later and fixed the problem. What I thought was impressive is that he didn't charge us for the time for him to get the compound. My sister and I were impressed, so much, that when we sold the house we left John's business card for Repairs Inc. with the new owner. My only suggestion for the company is that they modify or change the firm's name to better reflect its core business, which is boiler systems repair and maintenance.

Repairs Inc is great!! They were the company that our home warranty chose to help us with our garbage disposal issues. Once we moved into our new house, our garbage disposal promptly stopped working (not only that, but water backed up in our sink, along with black gunk- yikes!). They came out and spent hours cleaning out the piping...only to have to come back and replace all the pipes from the disoposal to the outside. We thought it was fixed at that time; however, it leaked again a few days later. They returned a few days later and replaced the entire disposal. Even though it was a longer affair than we had hoped for, they were always here when they said they would be, explained everything to us in easy to understand terms, and worked hard while they were here. Nice job guys!! :)
