Talk about making a bad time of life even worse. As if having a house fire 5 days before Christmas isn't bad enough, this company just made it worse. Lies, unprofessional, horrible communication, quality isn't even a thought. I truly believe they are out to scam insurance companies. They never had our interest in mind, it was always their pocket book. That's all they cared about. They didn't even replace the trim in the room where the fire started but they sure charged the insurance company for it. Find someone else. There are many other options out there.

There is not one thing that we have had to re-touch. From sliding doors being hung backwards (interior facing outside), to HVAC exhaust pipe having reverse slope so condensation ran back into furnace, to having to shim every interior door ourselves and putting insulation around 3 exterior doors, which had none. We had 4 different project manager throughout our project. We felt pressured to use inferior products and had to fight just to get the same material windows and doors that we had before our fire. We alwasy felt like they wanted us to think they were doing us a favor instead of working for us. I would not recommend using them to do the reconstruction after a disaster. We actually put on an addition to our house and one of the primary reasons was to get a trusted contractor in to fix a lot of the mistakes that were left by Monroe.

Yes, I recommend this pro
The entire process for both of my claims went extremely well. Monroe handled all the coordination of the contractors AND the insurance paperwork.

Very unhappy with the quality of work as well as the quality of materials used. This company contracts out the cheapest laborers that, in return, do the poorest work. EVERYTHING in our house (duct work to electrical to windows/doors to cabinets to flooring...and everything in between) was done inadequatly. We had them come back several times to fix issues before we signed off on the project ...some things like crappy drywall work is just never going to be right because it's functional as is. After "fixing" it crappy a second time with every detail, you just tend to drop the issue and want them out if your life. We continue (2.5 yrs later) to find errors and fix them as time/money allows (vents not cleaned like they said, windows/doors not sealed, interior doors not shimmed). I recently took pictures of vents and sent them to the company and they sent me a check to reimburse for air duct cleaning and to fix a return air duct problem that was not installed correctly. We are currently adding an addition to our house. We are so happy to be working with a company who is honest, trustworthy and values quality work. Because of the nature of our addition, our construction company will naturally redo a lot of the issues we continue to have with Monroe's work (this was actually a "plus" when we were weighing the pros/cons of adding on). However, weekly, there are more issues being revealed that we were unaware of. We lost almost everything we owned and then Monroe Restoration kicked us down even more when we were at our lowest. Hindsight, serval contractors have told us they've done business with Monroe Restoration and will never do it again.

It was horrible. There were some guys who were pretty good and some guys who were pretty awful. My insurance company pushed me to use them.

He did my bedroom first, everything worked out. The rest of the two weeks, he would come for two hours, he would leave, kept taking off and go to another job. He install my ceiling fan, turned it on and he left. Later on that evening, I turned the light on and one light bulb kept blinking on and off making a real loud sound. They came back out to try to fix it, they couldn't fix it. They came out and purchased a complete different fan, different color. They also took the cedar chest to fix that service master that works with them broke, and a few weeks gone by and I finally asked them about my cedar chest, they told me that they are having trouble fixing it. I asked them if they are going to fix it or give me my money. I was told that someone will send me a $100. To this day, I never received any money. They won't response to my emails or any of my phone calls.

They sent someone with a heat gun to detect areas of energy loss in the home, ultimately recommending that we have additional insulation put in the attic and that the pipes in our (vented) crawl space be sprayed with insulating foam, as well as the vents foamed shut .   The work in the attic appears to have been ok, with one major failing:  Monroe never brought the heat gun into that space, and so did not realize that one of the primary sources of heat loss was the HVAC ducting itself in the attic.  After they had completed their work, the temperature in the attic increased, rather than decreased.   We ultimately identified the HVAC ducting ourselves and spent hundreds of dollars more, together with our own sweat equity, to reinsulate the ductwork . At best, Monroe Restoration's work in the attic didn't make things worse or better, although the totally uninsulated part of the attic is probably in better shape than before.
However, the crawl space was another story.  By foam insulating the pipes in the crawl space AND sealing the vents, Monroe Restoration created a mold problem in the crawl space which required another $4,500 in work to remediate and resolve (with another company).  We cannot emphasize how much of a nightmare this was, which appeared to be the result of Monroe Restoration not recognizing the consequences of the conduct that they were recommending.
We would never use this company for work again.

Incident: FEB 21, 2014 Pool roof collapsed due to heavy snow load.  April ? they put up a tarp which promptly collapses into the building causing damage to contents and appliances.  Attempted to contact their "project manager" M  many times during this interval but due to my mother's dying and death, They were low on my list of priorities.  On April 29th, I said " JUST DO IT"!!! The project manager did not know about polycarbonates, galvalum roofing. At one point I mentioned galvalum, he did not know what that was and also said it was not to be used.   Later on he mentioned using metal when it was too hard for him to contact suppliers for roofing materials.      He did not know proper procedure for application.  I researched roofing materials..He did not know what the impact strength, flex, etc. meant.  He went to a local national "hardware" chain to pick up materials on ONE type of corrugated material.  He also stated that he did  not fight adjustors with prices determined by their software..  I stated that the insurance adjustor said that any cost overruns were o.k. if justified .  The next day he states that his boss said they COULD work with the adjustor re overruns.
At that point I do not believe he even knew what closure strips were!  I  called the insurance company on JUNE 12, 2014.   He told   insurance company, that he e and the subcontractor  were to put up the framing for the roof  on June 14th.  On the 14th.... they finally did what they should have done Feb. 24th--they sistered in  2 x 4's, put up OSB in empty spaces, and put a tarp on top.   RAin still comes in.  Algae is all over the walls.  Birds have made nests and pooped.  Dirt, pollen is everywhere in the  32 X 60 building. My microwave convection oven is ruined.   What they did on June 14th was close the barn door after the horses have escaped.  BTW, strong alcohol smell emanated from the subcontractor.    Wednesday following project manager M calls to say they are going to use local national "hardware chain roofing materials" but all they have are the foam closure strips and he is looking for wood--THIS should have been researched and ready to go at least by March and certainly by April 29th, not past mid JUNE!   The wood strips are necessary for the outside edges of the roof OR a metal edging strip as used on metal buildings ( I had informed him of this alternative previously). I had to fire them.  M may have ADD which affects his job performance OR had very little knowledge in construction OR both... OR maybe he just doesn't give a darn.
