We thought they were very good because they called us when they couldn't make it on the exact date. We thought that was very good to let us know. The day they came they were right on time. When they were done, they hauled all the dead wood and cleaned up our yard. We were very happy them.

They did fine. They are good people. They went up in their price and that’s why I’m probably not going to use them again. I don’t know if they are really higher. They had started out at a very good price for me and then over the years it just went up to the point where I noticed that they were at least high in the rage of other providers. They are possibly a little bit more.

Two men came and did an excellent job with the tree work and clean-up. They went over and above! They were very professional and courteous. We were very pleased with their work and would hire them again.

The overall experience was very positive. The initial contact by phone went smoothly, and they arrived within a few days. The workers were very courteous and professional, and they did a thorough job within a short period of time. I would definitely use their services again in the future.

We bought the Big Deal because we knew we needed to have a major trimming job done to keep the squirrels off the roof. I called three tree services to estimate the work we needed done, and Wellman happened to be the lowest, which really gave us great value using the coupon. We scheduled 1-2 weeks in advance. The crew of 2 men arrived on time, and had me walk them around the house to see everything they would be trimming. They started with the removal of a small tree, then spent a lot of time cutting back a redbud that we loved so that it would still look good, but be trimmed back from the porch roof. They finished up by going around the rest of the house, climbing up high as needed to trim limbs away from the 3 story house. There was a lot of debris, requiring 2 trips with their trailer, but they cleaned up very neatly, as if they had never been there. The guys were very conscientious to make sure everything looked good and was to our satisfaction. We would definitely call them again for tree service, or other services offered, such as gutter cleaning.

I purchased a coupon via Angie's list at $400 in tree services for $199. I was so very pleased with the job they did, their professionalism, and willingness to go beyond the call of duty for the amount I spent. I was so pleased that I've also scheduled a gutter repair appointment for October 6, 2011. I asked them to provide an estimate the day they completed the tree trimming job. The only challenge I encountered was in scheduling the tree work. It took nearly 2 weeks to get the work scheduled due to their busy schedule and was frustrating, but it was truly worth the wait in the end! They responded very quickly to my request for the gutter repairs, however; and I look forward to resolving that repair issue using this company.

Event: Slower than expected to return my call / slower than indicated by phone call to schedule appt for estimate / very nice estimator, seemed to communicate well and understand the scope of the job / slower than indicated from estimator for work to be done / first visit was not satisfactory, many dead branches were not removed and one tree was not trimmed / very nice response to my request for work to be completed / second visit tree was trimmed and some of the branches removed, still not per estimate / very nice conversation with gent from Wellman's offered to make a third trip / I sed no thanks. Most disappointed by their use of my contractor's dumpster for disposal of debris. After complaining, was told crew had been instructed to discontinue this practice. Interactions: My interactions with the company were very pleasant, they were responsive to my concerns and seem to have made policy changes upon realizing there was a questionable business practice involved. It was not an unpleasant experience and have had a better outcome with better communication from all parties involved. My learnings: In the future I need to be more specific in my expectations and communicate better with the estimator. I also will be on site as much of this would have been a non-issue if I had been present.

Chris and Yurie were very professional in their work. They were knowledgable of the proper tree pruning techniques. They were extremely conscientious regarding clean-up; in fact, my lawn and driveway were left without even a twig or a leaf when they were finished!

It did take them awhile to return calls and schedule. When they did the work they cut trees down and hauled of debris as arranged.

I purchased "A Big Deal" $400 of tree service for $199.00. First I had difficulty scheduling, when the estimator came (9/7) he was over an hour late (I am not sure he would have shown up, had I not called dispatch). The estimator indicated that the service would be performed the following week and that I would receive a formal estimate (the scope of the job was removing 4 large bushes, trimming a tree and removing the stumps from the bushes). The estimate arrived via email on 9/12, the estimate indicated that it would be an additional $75 to remove the stumps, I signed it and sent it back. The confirming email from Wellman on 9/13 said "Great. We will call before we come out. It will be in the next week or so." They came the next day without a call right as I was leaving for an appointment. They performed all of the services except the stump removal and indicated that they would return, I have not heard from them as of 9/25/11. While the tree service itself was good, my issue is with time. My time is valuable and I don't feel that they respected it by being late, and by being inaccurate and vague on their commitment dates and not following through on their commitments. I should not have to call them and ask "Hey, When are you finishing your job?" And when I do call them, how do I know that they are going to show up on time and on the right date?

I phoned Chris Wellman to ask him to provide an estimate for gutter cleaning and exterior window cleaning at a 2-story rental property I own. He responded with an estimate within 2 days (I said there was no rush and to get back to me at his convenience). I gave him the go ahead to do the work and 3 days later he called to say the work was done. He mailed me the invoice and that was that! East as pie.

After a somewhat lengthy process we received a proposal for the work that was to be done. At this time we have not chosen to do work with Wellman Exteriors but we may soon.

We have 2, 11 yr. old bradford pear trees in our front yard. They both needed thinned out and I particularly wanted them cut back. The Angie's coupon didn't cover everything I wanted done, so Chris explained the price to cut back the one tree I wanted to be cut back the most. I am hoping the coupon is offered next Spring so I can have the other one cut back now.

They did a great job. I was so pleased with their work that I am going to have them come out in the fall to clean out the gutters again for me. They got up on the roof and worked efficiently.

Had difficulty keeping 2 appointments. Finally came on third appointment. Was to send an estimate but did not receive one and next morning 2 men came and trimmed trees in 1 hour and left. We thought they were getting 5 hours of work and were disappointed in what we got. Called owner, he did offer to send them back, but I wasn't happy with the way they trimmed them and refused another trip.

We signed up for the "Big Deal." $400 worth of trimming for $199. We have a weeping cherry that is being shaded by a large silver maple. We wanted to free the cherry so that it would get more sun for more blooms in the spring. They came to evaluate the situation, but left nothing in writing as far as what they were intending to do. We called them back out again, and it was decided that one major limb of the maple should be cut. They talked us out of a second limb being cut, pointing to the fact that they didn't think the second limb was shading the cherry, and we acquiesced. We asked for an estimate in writing, and were presented with an estimate with no numbers, simply an statement that whatever they did would be covered by the Angie's List certificate. They indicated they would inform us when they were coming back. We arrived home this afternoon to see that they had been there, no prior notification on either phone. The limb on the maple was chopped off perpendicular to the limb, not along the line of the larger limb it was attached to. Evidently, the maple limb had fallen onto the cherry tree - there is evidence that one cherry limb was cut off and removed, another severely bent and in need of a splint for survival. One half of the cherry tree is damaged. The second limb of the maple that we suggested be removed is still shading the cherry tree. So nothing gained except destruction. We are very disappointed that Angie's List would recommend this company as a tree company. They may have talents elsewhere, but they are certainly not that.

Overall, they performed the work as requested. They appeared to have some equipment issues, but were able to complete the task in an acceptable manner.

They came when they said they would, both for the estimate and the work. They did the work, the trees look great!

They were very quick to provide a price over the phone based solely on the size of the house, not asking if I had gutter covers, which I do. I explained I was having water getting into the basement and welcomed their suggestions on how to mitigate this and if they would like to bid on that project. It was pretty open-ended, I said I was open to adding downspouts, replacing gutters, altering ground height for better water flow, etc. They said they would clean them and then provide a quote. I could tell they had been there, but didn't see a quote or any paperwork at the front door, mailbox, etc., so I called. After looking up my account, was told "the team said you don't need anything else, the cleaning has fixed it all". I knew that wasn't the case, so I hired another business and on their visit they alerted me to the fact that the gutters were not cleaned, they were full. The covers had not been taken off and gutters thoroughly cleaned. So I called Wellman back, and they did come right back out and clean the gutters properly on the front of the house.

Fast, professional, friendly, knowledgeable service. Will use again.

We had used them before and they do a very good job. They show up when they are supposed to and they are very responsive when you call. They come and do the work then leave.

They are efficient and affordable. They are professional.

I've had some gutter cleanings (done by other people) where I later learned that the cleanings might not have been done very well. With that caveat aside, I'll report that so far I've been very happy with Wellman Exteriors. They were extremely prompt in returning my call, their price was reasonable, and they performed the service when they said they would. So far, very happy. Thank you.

In response to a phone call from this company soliciting work, I called Chris and asked for an estimate for interior painting at my son's presently vacant house. An appointment was set and Chris even called my cell phone that day and left a message to confirm the appointment. I waited for 30 minutes at the house for him to come at our appointed time and no one ever showed up nor did anyone call to cancel the appointment. This was extremely rude and unprofessional, Needless to say I will never call them again for any work.

We found them highly recommended on Angie's List. They came very promptly, got in, got the job done quickly, and got out. It was very smooth. No hassles, no problems. The clean-up was good.
