I received a phone call approximately 20 minutes before their arrival. Three men came and explained to me how the charges worked and I agreed with it. Then they wanted to know what needed doing and I had them remove one small tree and a evergreen bush. The workers were so fast that they were able to trim up several other trees and make sure my gutters were clear also. They were all courteous and professional and did good work. I appreciated there honesty and wanting to make sure I got my monies worth

Purchased AL deal for gutter cleaning. Called to schedule service, left message with answering service and someone called me back in the evening. Said they'd be out within the week and they came in 4 days. Took 20 minutes to clean the gutters on our 6500house square foot home, which surprised me, but they seem to be flowing again. Left no real mess

We bought a coupon for their services ($199 for 4 man hours of work). When they saw the large, tall tree I wanted to be taken down near the house, they passed on the job, since they did not have appropriate equipment for climbing to take tree down in pieces near our house.

I purchased a package deal. Communication on the front end was a bit haphazard since I wanted clarification on what services could be included in the package deal they were offering. Then there were three delays on their end from botched scheduling. Once here, they performed the work (shrub and ground cover removal) satisfactorily, but I had to stay on them to get them out for the work.

Went well over all my only concern is that when Angie runs a special and it includes a certain amount of time for instance 8 hours of work for one man or 4 hours for two it is hard to determine how long they are there and who is working. They came and the one man was working and the other one went to get lunch so was this two men working? The bill is always more than the special. The other thing that was a problem was the information that Wellman has on the Angie List site states they take Visa, Master care, and American Expresss. I would not have choosen then if they did not. On the special you pay Angie List and I used my American Express card. Once I needed to pay the balance they told me they only take checks. So word to the wise just because they advertise you had better ask. They were unaware of what information was on Angie's list but someone there obviously had to give Angie this information.

It went well. I will use them again for these types of services. It was really easy to schedule with them.

This project was a disaster from the start but I have to give them credit for the professionalism and follow up after the disastrous start due to employee error. The only reason Wellman did not get "Ds" or "Fs" across the board was because of Chris Coolidge, who worked hard to resolve the numerous issues I dealt with on this project. Wrong stain applied, poor workmanship when stained, new boards installed with printing on the boards face up, etc. This was simply zero attention to detail. Wellman employees ended up coming to my house 5 times to start, redo and finish work. For each time the stain is applied we are supposed to stay off the deck for at least 2 days. This is a deck my dogs are on every day as it is their access to the yard yet I had to keeping the dogs off the deck for 5 different staining applications (10 days). A serious incovenience. Wellman employees had to come to my house 5-6 different times for a job that could and should have been done in two trips. This is a clear example of a company signing up for a Big Deal and not being ready for the influx of work. Chris Coolidge did everything he could to resolve poor workmanship by Wellman employees. He went above and beyond to make things right. For that reason alone, I may use them in the future.

work performed as expected, cleaned up debris on driveway, patio. After purchasing deal, they didn't get back to me to schedule, and when I called, they said they "come out when their schedule allows". I prefer contractors set appointments :)

This is the third time we have used Wellman and we are impressed with the professionalism, punctuality and cleanliness of the property when the job is complete.

Anyway, it took a long time for them to respond and even once they did, i had to call back. When I called back, they said it would be a couple of weeks to get an estimate.I was interesting in deadwooding a tree and gutter repair. Also found out after talking to them, they do gutter cleaning not repair, so I misunderstood.I might try using them again, they seemed nice and courteous on the phone when I did talk to them but again, they just overextended themselves I believe.

Employed Wellman to take out a number of branches from several trees in our front yard. They returned my initial call for an appointment promptly, scheduled the appointment, and called the morning of the appointment to let us know when they would arrive. They arrived promptly and listened carefully to what we wanted to have done, also making suggestions that greatly improved the appearance of the overall job. They were very accommodating and attentive to our requests, and stayed until we were thoroughly satisfied with the work. They cleaned everything thing and the yard looks great. We will definitely consider them for some of the other services they provide based on this experience.

The Wellman representative arrived punctually and cleaned the gutters as requested. He also used a blower to ensure the downspouts were clear. Job performed promptly and efficiently.

They always show up when they say they will and get the job done right.

We bought the Angie's List deal "$199 for $400 Worth of Tree Services" after having been given an estimate for the tree service work on our property in mid-July. To make a long story short, we had some discrepancies with the final price owed once the coupon had been taken into account and the work had been performed. I had difficulty for a week or so getting a quick response with anyone at the phone number or the e-mail address listed on the company website to settle the concerns of the price, and when I finally did get a response from the Executive Manager, his explanation was very courteous, but made no sense at all. About a week later, I contacted the owner using the e-mail address listed on the Angie's List website and I received a prompt reply the following morning followed by a refund check for the difference the next day. He also assured us a 15% discount for any future work done with the company and apologized for the inconvenience and misunderstanding of the estimate and the final quote on behalf of his company. Thanks to the owners quick reply and willingness to listen to my LONG e-mail of concerns/disagreement with the quote, I would do business with this company again. The actual service work itself was great and the workers left our yard looking immaculate. Our dog managed to find one bite-size chunk of wood, but that was it! Every contact made with this company was very polite, professional, and courteous, perhaps the office staff just needs a bit more training on the deals being offered and how to apply them to quotes correctly.

Having been happy with Wellman's work for a previous job (gutter cleaning), we decided to give them a try with a larger project. Although we had some initial phone miscommunication with them, once the scheduled work day arrived, the crew performed good quality work at a quick pace. Overall, we were very happy with the experience - and plan to use their services again soon!

They were great. Patrick is excellent at prompt communication. I appreciated his professionalism and quick service. They scheduled my gutter cleaning and performed the service within a few days. I will use Wellman again for any future needs and recommend them.

I contacted them after I bought the $275 for 8 hrs of labor for deck work. They said they will come on 7/10 in AM. They didn't show. I called them in evening and they said that they are given a list by their supervisor and they try to get as many homes as possible. And this is after I had moved my schedule around so I could be available! Anyways, I told them that I don't want to do the waiting part, and scheduled them for 10 days in future.2 men came on 7/24 and told me that my 10" x 15" deck will need 12hrs of labor (which I did not believe). I kept track of hours. They made 3 trips. 1st trip for pressure wash ( 1.5 man hour); 2nd trip for some sanding & primer (4.5 man hours) and 3rd trip for replacing spindle & wood and stain (3 man hours). Total 9 man hours. They supplied their own primer and stain.According to my calculation, I owe them money for materials (1 can of primer and stain, 1 wood spindle and 12inch length of deck wood) plus 1 labor hr ($70). Certainly less than the $535 they put on the invoice.I have left them 3 messages (they only have an answering service who don't know when lunch hour will be over; when my phone call be returned and what the turn-around time is for calls to be returned). Answering service knows NOTHING!I have requested an itemized bill, but don't know if I will get it. The invoice says that if bill is not paid in 15 days, there will be a 3% late charge. ALL of these may be honest mistakes, but it is a LOT of hassle...not worth hiring this company for any future projects. UPDATE: Company admitted there was a mistake in billing. Total price was reduced.

Showed up about 7 hours late after I had to reschedule. When they showed up they power washed the deck which took them about 2 hours. They said it would take about 3 days to dry and after the 3 days they never called back. I have called them several times and they were very unresponsive. There was an issue with responsiveness but they did resolve it. They ended up getting back to us within a day after we had gotten ahold of Angie's List and they reached out to the company. He said they put out a coupon, they were told they would get about 100 responses and they ended up getting 1,200. Initially, they were going to refund us the money we had paid, but we do not want a refund because they did end up finishing the job and it looks great! We thought the price for the work was outstanding, it included labor and materials. They did a good job in a timely manner once they came out and got it done. The deck looks wonderful. Everything looks very nice. They were very meticulous with our plants, they covered them so they did not get stain on them. The gentlemen who came out were very nice too; they were very pleasant and very professional.

The workers arrived when promised, inquired what exactly we desired to accomplish, then set about trimming; they offered to remove some unwanted brush around lilac bushes and to remove a dying rose bush as well. This was an Angie's Big Deal contract, so they worked a specific number of hours according to the contract. After the trimming was finished, they cleaned up all debris and piled it at the edge of the yard, where it was picked up the next day. One of the men even took an old, non-functioning tiller I had wanted to dispose of, so we were both pleased! The men were courteous and efficient, and did all the work promised as well as extra tasks as they discovered other needs. We were very happy with the workers and the work that was done.

Purchased the coupon online and made the phone call to get an appointment; this was accomplished quickly -- in fact, I was glad to hear that Wellman Exteriors rep(s) could come as soon as they did, less than a week later, even though they'd gotten a big response to their coupon offering. Yuri explained the work -- deep and thorough powerwashing to rid the deck of dirt, grime, mildew before staining, and then there would be several days for it to dry completely before the staining (or painting) would take place. Yuri left brochures for us to choose the color (or semi-transparent stain). I also asked to confirm the pricing; Yuri confirmed that our coupon gave us 8 discounted man hours, and that he estimated that the job would take that much time, plus one man hour at the regular rate. He advised that we could purchase our own gallons (two needed) of paint or stain, or have them bring them; we chose the latter, to avoid one more chore and time spent shopping, as the prices seemed reasonable. Asked him to note this in writing and initial, and he gladly agreed, and did so. All of the power washing and stain application was done very well! We also received phone calls along the way, for things like confirming the appointments, and their arrival times on the days they were to work. Also, the end invoice was off a bit from the estimate that Yuri had written out, and he and I had both initialed, notably in the cost of the stain. However, one quick phone call to Patrick at their office and the adjustment back to the estimate was quickly agreed upon by Patrick. The only issue was that Wellman does charge their labor hours by the exact hour. We HAD agreed, and the estimate reflected, that the total time would be nine (9) hours. However, when I totalled up the time from the three visits, from when they arrived to when they left, it was just over 8.25 hours. I asked Patrick if they didn't count the hours by half-hour increments, as some labor costs are determined, but he said that they really did bill by the hour, and even 15 minutes past would be billed as a full hour. So, we spent $35 more than we believe was really accounted for, however, the job that the guys did was really so good that it didn't seem to be worth it to quibble. Plus, they worked well on some truly hot days, were polite (and grateful for the cold water!) and professional, so we are very satisfied, and will call upon this company again.

The price was really good and they did a good job. This was the first time that we had used them. I'm not sure if we would use them again. The deciding factor was that they had an Angie's List coupon.
