Technician called prior to arrival and I appreciated that I could schedule my gutter cleaning when all of the leaves were off the trees. I spoke with Chris to make sure our second-story gutters were thoroughly cleaned. After they were finished he knocked on the door and told me he had removed some plastic gutter guards that were bent and blocking the drainage. This is the second time I have had them come and I have been quite satisfied with their work.

They were responsive and professional and I had no complaints. The date of service is approximate, since it's been a while ago.

Price good, quality poor. Might try again if quality improved!

Our first appt to have our tree taken down in our front yard ended up being a no show, we called again to reschedule. 2nd trip out we were told that the tree we wanted taken down was too large. 3rd trip out they sent 4 people for an hour to remove 3 small lilac trees and a dead tree. They finished in an hour, with many wispy branches left behind on the lilac trees. Would not use this company again, felt like they really didn't want the business.

1. I purchased and paid for this service on July 2, 2012. 2. As I was having my deck built I contacted Wellman and advised them that I did not need the staining done at that point but would let them know when my deck was complete. 3. I emailed Wellman on August 14, 2012 and advised them that my deck was complete and ready to be stained. 4. Wellman wrote back that they would schedule me for the week of either August 27 or September 3rd. 5. Not having heard one word from them, on September 7th I wrote Wellman telling them that I hadn't heard anything from them and that my deck still needed stained. 6. Wellman wrote back stating that they would reschedule me for the week of September 17th. 7. Not having heard from them again, I proceeded to call them and leave messages. Finally I talked to someone and the staining was scheduled for October 5, 2012. I waited all day and no one showed up. 8. On October 10, 2012, at 3:20pm in the afternoon, two people from Wellman showed up to stain my deck. I had purchased 8 hours of service and was told that they could not give me 8 hours that day since it was already 3:20pm and that, as the winds were gusting up to 35mph, they couldn't stain that day anyway. 9. October 15th I called Wellman and had to leave a message. No call back. 10. October 16th I called Wellman and had to leave a message. No call back. 11. October 17th, Wellman returned my calls and we scheduled the staining for October 22, 2012. 12. On October 22nd, Wellman called me and rescheduled for October 24th. 13. On October 24th, Welllman did not show up. 14. On October 25th, a representative of Wellman showed up at 10:15am and stained my deck. He left around 2pm, thus giving me about 4 hours of staining out of the 8 hours that I purchased.

Overall, the tree was finally removed -- it was a BIG tree and we are appreciative of Mr. Wellman's professionalism by giving us a more than fair price. The only other comment we have is, had we known the company was "way up on the north side of Indianapolis, we probably would not have had them do the job at all. We live just a few blocks north of Greenwood, IN and it would probably been a better idea for us to have someone on our side of town to do the job. Once again, thanks primarily to Mr. Wellman, we are satisfied. In the future, on our part we will do more research as to whom we contract a job.

They were really good. Three guys came over, I told them what I wanted done, and they finished everything I needed them to do in the allotted time.

I was very happy with their service and would definitely hire them again in the future.

After reading some other reviews ( which I did after I purchased the special) I read that it was important to be home and watch them work. Glad I did. I gave a lot of direction. My impression was that they really didn't know what they were doing. I have used other tree servic companies that seemed like they always knew what to do and would advise on any questions.

They could only trim 2 small trees and a bush. I had to do clean up of branches after they left. They were in a hurry as they had many jobs scheduled.

After purchasing the Angie's List Big Deal for the service in mid-July, I contacted Wellman Exteriors in early September to schedule the work. The woman I spoke with said she'd "send them a message to call me". After waiting about 10 days for a call, I called again. The Sales Mgr. came to my house and gave me an estimate of 7 man-hours for the work. He emailed the quote to me. I called him the next day to accept the quote and schedule the work on a Thursday when I could be there. The scheduled day, I called the Sales Mgr later in the afternoon to ask when his men were coming. He apologized that they were covered up and wouldn't be there as promised. We rescheduled for Nov. 1, "first thing in the morning". I called again to the Sales Mgr. on Oct. 31 to verify they'd be there first thing the next day. Had they not come as promised, I would have cancelled and gotten a refund. DO get the Sales Mgr's cell phone #. DO proactively follow-up to verify scheduling. Their work and clean-up was

The tree trimming was very well done and they did everythig I asked and cleaned up nicely afterward. However, getting them to schedule to come was a disaster. I kep calling, never got a response or a commitment. It took 3 different scheduling attempts before they finally showed up. The last time I called to cancel the work, I was assured they would come, which they finally did. As I say, the work was well done but the trouble it took to get them to actually show up was almost not worth it. I think a company should be able to tell you what day they are going to come. All I could get as a date was "we'll be there sometime the week of - - - - - - whatever". That doesn't seem like good business to me.

Purchased an Angie's List deal in June for tree trimming. I called the first week in August to schedule but could not get on schedule for 5 weeks. I was told they would come sometime during a certain week. They were asked to call before arriving so that I could show/tell them what work needed to be done. That week passed with call or anyone showing up. When I called the office, they stated they were running behind because of the weather and I would need to be put back on the schedule, it would be in two weeks. I felt it very unprofessional there was no call letting me know they were behind on their schedule and even more so when I had to 'rescheduled' when I was already on the schedule. Two weeks passed, again, no show, no call. Again, I called and again had to be put back on the schedule. Two more weeks, two gentleman showed up but it was raining. They said they would take care of getting me rescheduled but when I called a couple of days later to confirm, I found that I had not been rescheduled. The fourth attempt was successful. Two gentleman showed when promised and they called first (although they called the wrong number). The work was completed. I truly felt after being rescheduled so many times that I should recieve a discount for the gutter cleaning but none was offered and I failed to ask. I had used them a couple of times before for gutter cleaning so I thought I would try the tree trimming services. I will not again. Just to be clear, the workers were great, the scheduling was not.

I specified I wanted the 2 peach trees trimmed, and the workers told me I was only going to get 40 minutes of tree trimming. The groupon said 2 hours, their reply was that 3 guys for 40 minutes a piece equaled 2 hours. The main problem was that only 1 person was actually trimming. The other two were picking up branches and taking them up front. The one trimming was not finishing the tree he was working on. He was going back and forth between a peach and maple tree. I asked him to finish the peach tree and he said he was going to come back to it again. I then asked if he could trim some branches from a tree in the front. They stated that they trimmed one dead branch and said they ran out of time. They left quickly. Once I went to check the work, they had not finished the peach tree, and I noticed that the Deer lawn ornament (It was a Christmas gift from my son last year) I have under the tree in the front yard is broken. I then called about the work and the broken lawn ornament. When they did not get back to me, I called again. They said they would call me back that day, and never did. I have not heard from them in a couple weeks, there has been no response to 4 phone calls and 2 emails. I just want them to finish the tree trimming, and reimbursement for the broken deer lawn ornament. I know the deer was fine that morning . Their scheduling was also bad. I had scheduled one time, and they came at a completely different time.

After signing up for special offer through Angie's List, Wellman contacted me within 2 days and set a tentative schedule to get work done. They called in advance before arriving. All work was efficiently completed in a reasonable timeframe. The crew was professional and did an excellent job. They also took extra care to clean up before leaving. I would definitely recommend them and will certainly use their company again.

In addition to the above, the two workers pulled into the driveway and took a nap. Would suggest if they are on their lunch hour and want to take a nap that they do so in a parking lot somewhere close to their next destination.C

I will admit that my first impression wasn't the greatest. Because of that I started with a small project. There were several small things from rotted wood to installing a rain barrel that needed done. When the crew showed up they demonstrated initiative in finding things that I needed to be aware of but they also demonstrated practical judgment in what and how to repair. They offered ideas on how to set up my rain barrel. One person even climbed up a tree to cut down some poison ivy for me. They gained my confidence when the lead crew member walked my property and told me how they would approach each tree (17 large Maples). He even suggested I cut one evergreen down. I hadn't thought of it before then but this year, I was glad I took his suggestion. They listened to what was important to me - being practical, green minded, and offering ideas for me to consider. These are the qualities that I value in a service provider. As for being on time, organized, and cleaning up after themselves - they were great. I will definitely use Wellman Exterior again. In fact, it's time to clean the gutters.

Excellent experienced. Had 2 trees removed. I requested an estimate. Wellman's was very willing to take what I spent on the Big Deal and apply it to the entire job with me paying the difference. Due to the volume of the Big Deal, scheduling the work did take longer than expected but was of no consequence to me. The crew arrived as scheduled and took both trees down in good time. The trees were taken down without incidence. All debris was cleaned up. When I asked about stump grinding, Wellman's was very honest. Telling me that they contract that work out and I should check around. They provided an estimate for the grinding which I will consider just for their honest approach. I would recommend Wellmans and use their company again

Took the big deal for 4 hours of service. Got everything I wanted done. They were flexible, professional and hard working.

They were scheduled on three separate occasions--9/12--10/5--10/19-- prior to this occasion. The first time they canceled no reason was given, the next time it had rained earlier in the day & the last time it was raining hard. They also said they didn't work on Saturdays. After the last cancelation we were not rescheduled & they told us they would call us a day ahead before they were to do the work. On Wednesday, October 31st they called my daughter and told her they were coming to her house. There was no warning, they said they were just 10 minutes away. She called me so that I could go over there to make sure they did what they were supposed to. When I got to her home, they were already on the roof trimming trees. She had told them prior that if one of the larger branches that she would like removed was too large to remove without hitting the house they should not try to remove it. They said "no problem"-- so they trimmed it back somewhat (evidently not enough) and then cut it off at the base of the branch where it attaches to the tree--the tip of the branch hit the roof of the house in 2 places ripping off shingles, underlayment & wood trim. I did not get up on the roof to see if there was a hole in either place, but have pictures of the damage taken from the ground. At first I was told they would fix it that day, then said they couldn't do it that day because it was Halloween and would be back on Friday of that week. They said they planned to replace shingels (which luckily she had some)--I reminded them that it also needed underlayment and trim and paint. I asked them to put a tarp over the area because it was supposed to rain, they did not put anything over the area--(I could see an open area where the trim had been ripped off), allowing potential rain to enter the home. They said they would be back Friday of that week to fix the roof. No one showed. My daughter called them that Fri. about 5 P and spoke to someone who said they would check on it and call her back. No return call that day. They did call her on Monday 11/5 to say they would be out on Tues. 11/6 to "fix" the roof. They did come while she was at work and replaced her shingles, underlayment and a piece of trim that does not match the rest of the trim---they said they couldn't find trim to match. The trim was not painted. My daughter called them on 11/7 and left a message asking why the trim was not painted. No one has returned her call. The large branch was cut totally from the top of the branch down, allowing it to break off and rip off some of the bark of the trunk of the tree. It should have first been cut from the bottom up to prevent this from happening. Also, they spent a good part of the time they were supposed to be trimming trees and doing the work they had been paid for----assessing the damage and wondering what to do about it and looking for shingles in her shed. I was disappointed for all of the above but also that they did not have the equipment (other than extension saws and ladders. Really nothing to get to the higher branches over the roof, which is why they were hired--to remove overhanging branches. Also, each time their business was called, an answering service took the call--not their own people.

I called for the service and they said they do not service my area. I ended up getting a refund for the work. They were cordial on the phone.

We scheduled the work. It had to be rescheduled one time. Weather related. The contractor came twice. Once to power wash and once to apply stain. The deck looks great.

I took the day off for them to come do the services and they called around 5:30pm in the day to reschedule after I called their office twice that day to see where they were.

The work they did was fine. They came and did exactly what they said they would do. I was pleased. I have no complaints with anything they did.

All work was covered under the terms of the deal. They were very responsive and I would use them again.
