The Roof looks great! North American Contractors truly work around your schedule. It only took two weeks from my 1st call to the completed project. They had the roof started and finished in one (1) day. GREAT WORK RICKY AND NORTH AMERICAN CONTRACTORS! YOU HAVE EARNED A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!!!

It turned out good. It was actually no cost, because the coronation was bad. They came, or said they were gonna come a couple times, and they didn't, and they eventually fixed it, but they didn't charge us because they felt that their own service was poor. The work was good. The guy that came to our house was very nice.
Description of Work: The service was repairing some soffits at the house in the garage and on the second storey of our house, which is falling out, some wood and then screwing in some new wood in the soffits and painting it.

Rob Smith was our contact and he helped us sort through the process of getting repairs done. We needed drywall torn out and replaced, repainting the garage, repair of the roof where the leak occurred, and some additional work on the roof to help prevent an ice jam happening again. In all phases of the process, Rob explained the options and helped us decide on what we needed based on what we wanted to have done. Rob coordinated the various workmen and kept us informed about who was coming and what was going to be done next. It was well worth having someone oversee this project because it would have been very difficult to do it ourselves. We were very happy with all the work that was done and with Rob's help in making things go as smoothly as possible.

They were professional, informative and truly concerned about my property. They were conscientious of the damage and even sighted my neighbors roof for damage. They were understanding of your situation and time difference. They never once mentioned payment for their free estimate. They didn't not try to up sell me for any piece of the process. They were knowledgeable and specific in their suggestions. The estimator, Kevin Brown, was personable and respectful. He truly cared about our situation and options as a homeowner.

Contractor came out and inspected the roof. Determined in his opinion it qualified for an insurance hail damage claim. They met with Insurance Adjuster and got the claim in motion. Had many other jobs so got me on the production line order. Ended up because of weather to boost me up 2 weeks ahead of schedule. The material needed was delivered and put on the drive where I instrcted . The next day early they were here and on the job replacing my shingles. The guys were very polite and did a fine job of cleaning up at the end of the day with the job finished and the yard in the same condition they found it. 2 days later the Gutter hangers were here to do their part and again they were were polite and did a great job on the gutters and the clean up at the end. I was very happy with this company. This work was done at my Mother's house.

All went well. They worked with the insurance adjusters for each location and made sure that all damage was covered and received agreed pricing from the company. The work was scheduled in a timely manner and completed on time. Any issues that came up were handled immediately and professionally. I would recommend this company to anyone.

We worked with Jake Runnals of North American Contractors. First contact was to review roof damage due to hailstorm of September, 2012. Jake was very responsive, answered questions immediately (if he could) but got back to us if he couldn't answer immediately. The roof was replaced with an insurance claim. Jake coordinated the gutter guard removal and replacement also. We also contracted for them to add siding to the house as we were having issues with the old siding. The job took a little longer than expected, but we had complete new siding, fascia boards, and soffit replacement within in a week. The crew did a good job of cleaning the area after the work was done. I would use North American Contractors again.

Came to my door day after tornado. Storm chasers. Took 3 months to start job. Waiting on insurance check. I cleaned up debris outside and inside home after waiting 3 months.Have pictures of issues. The contractors did not complete the job. They did not do major work such as refinishing 2 ceilings. The wires to my home alarm were cut when 2 windows were replaced. They left the wires sticking out. My alarm will not set. Left a ladder on the steep room, just over driveway where people walk. Left cigarette butts all over yard. Picked up a coffee can after asking them not to leave these in my yard. Left house in a total mess, did not clean up worksite, left ladders, tools and blinds in my laundry room. Left contents of closets in my bathtubs. Replaced my carpet and carpet pad with much lower grade of carpet/pad. Did not finish/paint baseboards as agreed. Sprayed white paint all over walls around a door, that was recently painted. Left holes in boards under siding. Did not fix area of ceiling damaged from water - told me to use superglue to make it look better. Did not clean up floors prior to putting in new carpet - floor was covered with debris, insulation and dirt from workers being in home. I came in and used a shop van to clean this when I realized they had a crew that spoke spanish and was not going to stop and clean up.Said the guy(Chris) in charge of job would be overseeing on daily basis. Chris did not come by house daily or even weekly. Chris did not know what work had been left undone. The house makes creaking noises and sounds like it is going to fall apart when the wind blows, even gentle wind. When I confronted Contractors, they tried to say work was done, then said they didn't realize it wasn't done, then told me they would reimburse me for work not completed, so that I could have someone else do the workThey demanded the total amount due from the original quote. When I refused to endorse a check, they hired an attorney, filed a suit with Hendricks county court and put a lien on my home. I hired an attorney but had to drop her after spending thousandsThey knew that I am a widow. They were VERY unprofessional! They need to be reported, so that others do not go through this nightmare. It took 5 months to fix my home.

Response from North American Contractors Inc
We regret being forced to present such a lengthy and detailed response to the above referenced review of North American Contractors, Inc. but our reputation and rating with Angie’s List is vitally important to us. Angie’s List provides a great service and people count on it. For the most part, they can expect an accurate assessment. But it’s only as accurate as the information provided by the consumer members. The customer’s residence was hit by very high winds and the damage to her property was reported on the news. After seeing the story on the news, we contacted the customer the day following the storm to offer our services. The customer labeled our company as Storm Chasers. We are located in Indianapolis and provide insurance restoration services in central Indiana and have no need or interest in chasing storms. She also implied that we were the reason it took three months to start the job. What she isn’t sharing is that it took the insurance company three weeks to get an adjuster to the property to assess the damage. They came out to her residence on May 4, 2011 and due to numerous problems with the insurance company and the mortgage company, it took three months for her to receive the funds necessary to make a deposit to start the job. We actually started the repairs to her home before receiving the deposit. Once the project was started, we completed the work in approximately 3 ½ weeks. This project was a complex project that encompassed around 16 different trades. In this customer’s case, it was our efforts that led to the insurance claim being settled properly. In the very early stages, she was quite unhappy with the insurance company – they were the villains. Meanwhile, she “sang our praises.” In fact, during the claims process she wrote a glowing statement about North American Contractors, while bashing the insurance company. Obviously this was when she clearly required our assistance. She complained about items such as cigarette butts and a ladder being left on a rooftop. We do not disagree with her in regards to the cigarette butts being left in the yard. That is totally unacceptable behavior and we do not tolerate that kind of disregard for a customer’s property. We addressed it with the subcontractor as soon as we were made aware of it. It was rectified and didn’t continue. As for the ladder; the practice of storing ladders on a roof during the construction process is “old school”. While we frown on the practice, a ladder can be safely stored in this manner if it is secured to the roof surface. Regardless, given that she was uncomfortable with that method, we instructed them to remove the ladder. They did so immediately and it was not stored in that manner again. She stated that the house was a total mess. Reconstruction projects are generally “messy” places. But this worksite was no untidier than one should expect given the magnitude and time frame of the job. She stated that the carpet was laid on dirty subflooring. That is inaccurate. Other, non- flooring subcontractors will attest to the floors being clean when the carpet was laid. She also says the carpet was substandard. That is interesting considering the subcontractor that installed the carpet formerly installed carpet for the builder of her home. He states the carpet was as good, if not better than, what she originally had in there. She picked out the carpeting from samples that were provided to her. If she had issues with the carpets quality, one would think she would have stated it at that time. I think it’s worth mentioning, we also carpeted rooms not covered by her claim free of charge. She states that we did not keep an eye on the repairs being made to her home. That is not true. We were there routinely throughout the day. She was living in a motel and not around to know how often we were there. She complained that we didn’t complete all the repairs noted in the insurance company’s scope of repairs. That is true. However, we had a signed agreement with her stating that she was going to complete some of the work herself. She had indicated she wanted to perform these repairs so that she could keep the proceeds. We agreed to fully credit her for any line item of work not performed by North American Contractors. This meant that she had no money out of her pocket and in fact would receive money in her pocket in the amount of the work credited back to her. Once the work was completed and it came time to pay us, things changed. The insurance company was apparently no longer the villain. It was our turn now and her energy shifted to finding ways to delay or avoid paying us for the work. We couldn’t even approach her about finishing up any loose ends that were discovered after doing a walk through inspection because she threatened us with a restraining order! The checks from the insurance company merely required her endorsement. On multiple occasions she had agreed to endorse them, but failed to follow through on her commitments. We made it clear to the customer, her attorney(s), and the insurance company that we were willing to credit (“compensate”) her for any work we were not allowed perform. However, we insisted on collecting all that we were clearly entitled to receive and nothing less. She says she’s a widow and we knew that. That is correct. We were and are sympathetic to her situation. We extended ourselves to her personally. We always try to treat our customers the way we ourselves would want to be treated. We do this by guiding them through the insurance claims process and couple these solutions with the best construction practices. As a result, our customers’ properties are restored and transformed beyond their pre-storm condition.
