Kinetico Quality Water Systems

Kinetico serviceman arrived on time and was able to do the filter replacement in a timely manner. He was respectful of our living quarters and stayed right on task.

We have 2 systems in our home - under the sink and a whole house system. They consistently do good work and have quality technicians. Ray Weatherbee originally installed the system. I see him everywhere! I've seen him at Home Show booths, so they definitely have a consistent staff that stays with the company for years! Price includes both the filter and service call.

Kinetico has a lot of selling points that the salespeople do not bring up unless they are asked. Sales more focused on making the sale than ensuring the customer has the understanding and information to make the right decision. However the system is worth the money (price difference) and is the best on the market. The installation was quick and although we had a faulty copper connection, service was at our house within a hour of my call. They were helpful to my wife in choosing the right RO faucet and arranged the installation so that she could make the right decisions regarding the placement and impact on our current arrangement.

For the past two years, this company has delivered salt for me. For some reason I used to assume this was an expensive luxury, but the price is so reasonable ($38 for delivery of four 50-lb. bags of salt). They always leave the salt exactly where I tell them to, and the people who answer the phones and take my order couldn't be any nicer.

The system works well. However, I found the sales rep to be a little pesky- I think he would have talked all day about water and didn't pick up on subtle signals that I was finished with our conversation. The installers did not remove the brine tank from the old softener because it had salt in it. I'm not sure if that is standard or not, but the company would have impressed me if they had taken care of the tank instead of leaving it in my garage. In addition, I was told I'd receive a phone call about the day and time when the installer would come, but the installer just showed up- when I was out of town.

I was pleased with the salesman except that he took a long time explaining the system, etc. The price was not cheap for what we needed. We had a chlorinator, dechlorinator, and dual water softener tanks installed. The serviceman who installed was very professional and explained function of system when finished. I do feel Kinetico is overpriced but the system works above expectations.

Kinetico tested our water and suggested a system to solve our rust, smell, and taste problems. We also purchased a 3 gallon Reverse Osmosis system for our drinking water. They were professional in all dealings from the first phone call to the installation. They have a tremendous product that I would highly recommend to anyone!!!! I simply love our water. I can't recommend them enough. The only thing I would say is make sure you mention the Angie's List discount as they weren't real quick with that, but it is a good discount.

Sales experience was good. A few hours after installation, a major leak developed, with water spraying everywhere. Though I called at 9:00am, no one came to address the problem until 1:00pm. After the repair person fixed it, there was another leak. Kinetico said they would not come until the next day to fix it. After threatening to send their softener back, they came the same day. I never received any sort of follow-up call after this bad experience, including the promised call from the sales rep to test my water after installation. The response below from Kinetico is misleading. The leak was between the water main and the softener and could not be bypassed. The service rep was told this, but I still had to threaten removal of the softener to get service in a timely manner. I suspect the other responses are as misleading as this one.

It was a very smooth, competent installation, and I love all the soft water we have without using any electricity!

The 2 tank water system allows you not to have to service it, you just need add salt. I really like the water system, I have very soft water.

The installation was quick and convenient. Brian showed up at the exact time we scheduled. He was friendly and courteous, cleaned everything up when he was done and provided excellent instructions on how to maintain the system.

I THOUGHT THAT THE INTERACTION WITH THE SALESPERSON WAS VERY GOOD. HE HAD A HIGH DEGREE OF TRAINING. THE INSTALLERS WERE VERY POLITE, PROMPT, AND CLEAN. THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. THE WATER DOES TASTE DIFFERENTLY AND WE DON'T HAVE INSTANCES WHERE WE GET DIRT IN THE WATER ANYMORE.

The salesman came for what was supposed to be 45 minutes. He left 4 hours later, after being repeatedly reminded that we needed to wrap up because we had to work. He did not offer us an Angie's List discount until we specifically asked. When asked the price of the water softener without the reverse osmosis (RO) system, he refused to answer and instead praised the RO system. When asked if there were choices of water softeners, he praised the water softener and didn't answer the question. The total price before the 10% Angie's List discount was about $4400. The next day we went to Lowe's and bought a water softener that operated the same way, with resin beads, and a large RO system for 1/4 of the price.

I had Kinetico in a home I had in Texas for over 18 years on high iron and hard water. I had never had a service call in those 18 years. Moved to Indiana and had a big name competitors unit (''C'')in my home. It was using 200lbs of salt a mo with hard water all the time, and terrible service. They could never make it work right. Inquired with Kinetico and was given good info over the phone. Had a rep. out to my home to further explain, and found very high professionalism and courtesy. Explained the system in detail, left good information for me to decide. Had the system installed with a very polite service person who went the extra mile to make sure I was happy. Have had it in for 9 months and have never had hard water! My salt consumption had dropped to 1 bag a month. Great company and product. Would recommend them to anyone!

This company was recommended to us by a co-worker, but was very evasive when asked direct questions. They wouldn't answer my questions on the phone. They really push to come out to the home and do a full sales pitch. I got passed around to 3 different people when I insisted on getting some answers before setting up an appointment. Then when they finally gave me some price ranges, their starting prices were already 75% higher than the next highest prices I already had from a competitor. They also praise their product and put down others to such a point that they made me feel guilty regarding my care for my family if I even considered anyone but them for our drinking water purification. On the positive side - each person I spoke with was very polite and professional :)

QUALITY MERCHANDISE FOR WATER SOFTENERS.

THE BUILDERS OF MY HOUSE WERE IDIOTS AND PLACED THE POINT OF ENTRY FOR MY WATER IN A TINY CLOSET ON THE OPPOSITE END OF THE HOUSE FROM EVERYTHING ELSE. EVERYONE ELSE I TALKED TO ABOUT INSTALLING A WATER SOFTENER SAID THAT IT WOULD REQUIRE A PLUMBER TO REDO EVERYTHING OR JUST HAVE THE SOFTENER ON THE HOT WATER. KINETICO HAS A SMALL, NON-ELECTRIC SYSTEM THAT WOULD FIT IN MY CLOSET. THEY ALSO FIGURED OUT HOW TO GET THE OUTFLOW INTO A DRAIN. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH WHAT THEY DID TO GET IT ALL TO WORK AND THE SOFTENER WORKS GREAT. THE ONLY ISSUE I HAD IS THEY DIDN'T CHECK THE SEALS BEFORE INSTALLING IT. I NOTICED A DRIP AFTER THE INSTALLER HAD LEFT AND CALLED ABOUT IT. HE WAS BACK WITHIN 30 MIN. TO FIX IT.

I'D HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT THEM, SO I DECIDED TO USE THEM. AS SOON AS WE GOT THE SYSTEM UP AND RUNNING, WE COULD TELL THE DIFFERENCE IMMEDIATELY. IT IS GREAT AND WE'RE VERY PLEASED. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL TO WORK WITH.

THEY ARE VERY PUNCTUAL AND PROFESSIONAL.

THEY WERE FINE. I WILL BE USING THEM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.

GOOD EXPERIENCE. THE INSTALLER DID HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE INSTALLATION (INEXPERIENCED WITH RUNNING THE DRAIN LINE), BUT ANOTHER INSTALLER CAME OUT A FEW DAYS LATER TO COMPLETE THE WORK.

WE HAVE LIVED WITH THE SYSTEM FOR SIX MONTHS AND I AM EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THIS WATER SYSTEM. THE WATER TASTES WONDERFUL. I LOVE HOW THE WATER SOFTENER RUNS ON USAGE RATHER THAN A REGULAR CYCLE. ALTHOUGH I THINK IT WAS WAY TOO EXPENSIVE, IT IS WORTH THE MONEY. IT WILL BE AN EXCELLENT ADDITION WHEN WE SELL THE HOUSE, BECAUSE INDIANA WATER IS HORRIBLE.

CAME OUT ON TIME, AND DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM WAS WITH ANOTHER PART OF THE PLUMBING SYSTEM. DIDN'T CHARGE A SERVICE FEE, TESTED THE WATER, VERY PLEASED WITH THE PROFESSIONALISM.

VERY CLEAR PRESENTATION ON THE ADVANTAGES OF THEIR SYSTEM. NO HARD SELL .. JUST GOOD CONVERSATION. THE REP WAS ABLE TO ANSWER ALL OUR QUESTIONS. INSTALLATION WAS ARRANGED AT OUR CONVENIENCE. BOTH SYSTEMS INSTALLED THE SAME DAY AND IN LESS THAN 72 HOURS FROM TIME OF ORDER. INSTALLATION WAS PROFESSIONAL ... THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB!
