Absolute worst experience we could have ever imagined from a local company. They did the install about 2 years ago. Everything was great until it wasn’t. Our basement was flooded due to poor installation. Long story short they only took care of correcting the install but we were left with ruined carpets, molded drywall and stained and swollen doors. My wife and have been trying to contact them for almost 2 years now and they refuse to take care of any of the problems they caused. They do not respond to voicemails or emails. Nothing short of taking them to court will get a reply. It’s honestly been a nightmare for us and the customer service has been horrific. The product is good but there are sooo many other choices we would choose someone else 100% if we had to do it all over again. Btw, our repairs were super cheap, just a few hundred bucks. We just wanted what would have made our lovely finished basement to be what it used to be instead of this 2 year limbo nightmare.

If I could give “0” stars, I would. These folks sold me a multi-thousand dollar system some years ago, and assured me that it would “last a lifetime”. First, it did not work as well as it should have to begin with, and then when it did not work, they sold me more stuff (chlorine pellet dropper with chlorine tank inside to take it out) which also did not work long term. This last week it stopped running altogether and then they made me wait to have them look at the system, because only they can look at it. They made my family wait all afternoon because they said they would be here between 1-5pm. They did not show up. At 5pm I called, and they were closed already. The next morning I called, and later in the day they said that the team who had come out had come to the wrong house. After all of this, when they finally go to my house, they made me pay them another $139 just to tell me that everything I had been sold was just junk, and tried to sell me on another multi thousand dollar system! They had sent direct to me a “get your system checked for $1 coupon” in the mail, and when I presented that to them, they said “that does not apply here, you still have to pay the $139 because that is only for sales! All of that to tell me what they sold me is junk now! I was previously told by their office when I first called that they had records of what I had purchased and that the “media” could be changed in my system - but when they came out, they said that the person who spoke with me from the office was incorrect and that my media could not be changed. I reminded them that I had been informed that the system was supposed to last “a lifetime”, and they responded (they actually said this to me), “back when you got your system, we had some people who did not tell the customers correct information”!!!!!!!!! Now, after all of this, you would think that they would offer some sort of alternative - like giving me a discount or working to get me a used system which would be longer lasting - but no - the only option was to start over from scratch and spend many thousands of dollars more. My anger is only diminished by the shame I feel at letting these weasels take advantage of me like this. I recommend that nobody get Kinetico systems. I recommend that anyone considering Kinetico systems simply go to another alternative - there are many around. Any of the alternative companies will be better and more truthful in the long run. Do not be fooled by the line that if it is more expensive, it must be the best. Hogwash. I am the prime example of how Kinetico does not take care of their customers. Feel free to contact me if you need further information. I have been in my own business for many years, and this is no way to treat customers.

Austin was very nice. However, I almost missed him as they did not call my cell phone as instructed. I have an older system. This seems to be a problem for them. It was running a bit too much and was time to change the filters. Austin indicated that membrane and sub assembly needed to be replaced, but he could not guarantee that it would fix the issue as we do not have their water softener. He felt that I should just go ahead and get a new system since the cost was about half way to a new system. I asked him to replace the filters and I would discuss with my husband the issue. However, now I am left with a system that has not stopped running since the new filters were put in. In addition, I was verbally told that I would only be charged the $99. To replace the filters. My receipt is for $170.21. Not a happy camper. Being left with water constantly running in the drain today with a larger bill than verbally stated. Not happy. This did not bode well as the last time a different kinetico filter change was here (over a year ago), they were rude about not wanting to upgrade to a brand new system.

Technician who installed the system was very knowledgeable, considerate, efficient and cleaned up the area before leaving. He also gave an explanation on how to service and maintain the system. This system uses no electricity and less salt than other systems so requires less time and expense to maintain. Never having had a water treatment system before, there is no build up in the tea kettle, coffee maker, pots and pans or sinks, shower or tubs since the system was installed. Also I am surprised with the brightness of my laundry, especially the whites without extra additives being needed.

First technician sent was unable to change filter correctly. Re-scheduled and 2nd, very friendly technician fixed all problems.
Scheduling should be a bit more precise...not the 9-1 or 1-5 window.

The technician was pleasant and on time. Scheduling was not easy though. It was a long wait to get on the schedule.
The problems arose when I was given a bill for $489 ($139 trip charge and $350 labor) I was stunned! Unfortunately, I paid the man. After he left, I went to look at old receipts. I had this same service done in 2002 and it cost $113 total then. I called Kinetico and was told that 1.5 years ago, this service was $250. I was then directed to Dennis March. I left a voicemail for him that day. He never called me back. (I called Culligan…they charge $100 to move their water softeners). Between Oct. 19 and Dec. 6, we had gone through 4 bags of salt (family of 4). So I called again about that. I was told I would receive a phone call back. I didn't receive that phone call. I also left another message for Dennis March….still no return call from him either. Today I called again. I was given the service coordinator. I explained to him how the system was going through salt. The earliest they had a morning appt. available was 7 days away. I will go through another bag of salt by then! I asked for a free bag of salt which he agreed to. But that doesn't begin to cover my added expense of salt. The salt does not cost them much. Your options of service are a 3 hour window in the morning or a 4 hour window in the afternoon.
So for $489, it still was not installed correctly! And I have the added expense of all the bags of salt, and the inconvenience of needing them to come back out, and the hassle of trying to get them to return a phone call!
If I had known it would cost $489, I would have purchased a brand new system.

The installation of the RO unit was smooth and well done. I am satisfied and feel that any future maintenance will be well taken care of .
Kinetico has been around for a long time, and I like that the RO is a USA product. The RO filter has a 10 year warranty, which is very good.

The service technician was very nice and knowledgeable and came out to address the issue. He confirmed that due to the engineering specs it was supposed to be done routinely once a year depending on the water usage. We had a very pleasant experience with this company and couldn't be happier. My only complaint is that it can be difficult at times to reach them by phone. They are aware of this issue and told me they are taking steps to correct it going forward.
