Kinetico Quality Water Systems

We had some issues, it is fine now. They have been out quite a bit over the past year working on our problem. They installed a major aeration system for our well and it didn't work correctly during the year. They just now installed a new system for us, and it is working ok now. It just took them a long time to get it right.

They are very courteous. They are an environmentally friendly company. I would definitely recommend them to others.

I requested a consultation from kinetico after a recommendation from a plumber who was installing a toilet.The plumber told me that he expected it would cost about $2000-3000. The Kinetico agent came and explained their system and made his recommendations. I was surprised at the cost but decided to go with it as our water has been very unpleasant. The system works well. The only annoyance is a clicking sound made by the pumping system, which is located in the garage. This is audible in the room next to the garage whenever the pump goes on, which occurs whenever water is used.

It went well. The sales person, Denny, came out on the 10th and tested our water quality. He explained the systems and how each would help with our water problems. Denny scheduled the install while he was at our house. He talked to the installer and told him the details. We filled out the paper work and finalized the install. On the 12th the salesperson, Denny, and the installer, Todd, showed up on time. They quickly got to work. The Denny helped Todd unload and start the install. The both were very helpful and continually let us know what they were doing. Our install was a little tricky, but Todd who is a licensed plumber made quick work of the situation. The job took about 3.5 hours. When Todd finished he went through and explained everything and asked if we had any questions. Both Denny and Todd made our experience very pleasant. They both did a great job and we are enjoying our new systems. I would recommend the company and these two people if they are interested in a new water system. They recieve an A in my book.

The experience overall was wonderful all the way from contacting the company for information on my existing system to the sale and installation of the new system which I am very happy with. The new K-5 system with the optional mineral filter makes the water taste just like the water from my old house that was supplied by a spring fed well.

The first thing that I told the salesman, his name is Doug and he is the district Rep. that we have a OLD septic system and it does NOT work well. He wanted to make a sale to us so he glossed over the septic system problem that we have. We bought a complete system from them at a price of 6500.00. They installed the new system and it worked ok. But after about 2 weeks there system flooded our septic system. The way it works is that the softner and iron filter works on the amount of water used and not by a electric timer. The softner went in a regeneration the same time that the iron filter was in regeneration and it was to much water for our old septic system. All 3 toilets over flowed on the floor, one person was taking a shower and the shower stopped draining and flooded the bath room floor. We also have a garden tub that filled up with black septic water , (pretty gross with guess what was floating on top and it wasn't a good smelling ROSE that came from the septic tank). We called Doug at Kinetico and complained to him about our problem and he acted like he didn't know that we had a old septic system. Kinetico came out and replaced the entire system with another system that uses less water when it regenerates. The new system was better but it still flooded the septic after about a 3 weeks. The system that they installed was the only other one that they sell. We had to have the SEPTIC SYSTEM COMPLETELY REPLACED with the cost of 10,000.00. After they installed the second system Kinetico found out that SOMEBODY in there company ordered solder with lead and that was the solder that they used when they installed all of the new system in our home. Kinetico had to come out again and replace all of pipe and fittings that they just installed because of the lead solder. My wife called Kinetico and asked for a owners manual for our new system. For paying 6500.00 they don't even offer a owners manual. We called 6 more times to the local branch and 2 times to the factory in Ohio before we recieved a manual. When we got the manual , it was a scanned copy of all the models all combined. Not any use to us. Kinetico is a good product only if you have a NEW septic system. If your septic system is old do NOT use KINETICO WATER SYSTEMS.

Excellent - we were offered several alternatives. The salesperson helped us determine the best system for our needs and did not attempt to oversell. We also used our Angie's list coupon to get 12 free bags of salt. The installers were professional and they came back a few months later due to a defective part - it wasn't causing a problem yet but they proactively contacted us to set up a time to replace the part.

Approximately 6 weeks later after the initial appointment, after having gathered information from several companies, we made the decision to rent from Kinetico. I called the sales rep with whom I'd previously met and scheduled an appointment to sign a contract. The meeting was set for the following day at 9:30 a.m. On the day of the appointment, a Kinetico sales representative called me at 10:10 a.m. to let me know that he'd be there in approximately 20 minutes. I had taken the day off work, so the tardiness was fine. When he arrived, he tested the water and told me that we would really need to purchase a green sand filter in order to completely soften our water - something the previous sales representative said was not necessary. The dual tank non electric system that we'd agreed to rent is available for rental; however, the sand filter has to be purchased (for around $1900). Additionally, the new sales rep stated that they could not install new rental equipment in our home; they reserve new equipment only for purchases. The previous rep had agreed to install new equipment, as we were seriously considering purchasing the equipment after 6 months (we want to make sure it does what we want it to do before spending almost $4000 to buy it). After some discussion, we agreed that I would sign a contract and the new rep would follow up if new equipment was going to be a problem. We scheduled an istallation for three days later. The day before the installation, the current sales rep called at 9:20 a.m. to say that we needed to complete a credit application before the installation could be completed... and that the credit application paperwork needed to be completed by 10 a.m. I explained that I was out of town without access to email or a fax machine until the end of the day. He said he'd talk to someone else at the company and get back to me. After a voicemail that we needed to do the credit paperwork asap, I asked Kinetico to fax the credit paperwork to my husband at work; it was completed within an hour of our receiving it. Later in the afternoon the rep called back to notify me that our installation would not occur on Friday because our paperwork was not completed on time. While he took full responsibility for his mistake in not completing the paperwork at our Tuesday meeting, the best that he could offer was an installation date 6 days later (when we were originally told 1-3 days for installation) and 10 bags of salt (a $40 value). I explained that I'd already scheduled removal of our current unit on Friday afternoon, and that we'd prefer not to wait until next Wednesday (after all, hadn't we scheduled an appointment when I signed the contract and paid an installation fee + the first and last month's rental)? The rep says that this has nothing to do with the fact that we're renting rather than buying a unit, but it really seems that we were pushed to the bottom of the list because of it. Kinetico made an error, and wasted hours of my time not fixing it. It's a shame that their product produces such great results because their service and customer care has ruined a strong relationship for our family.

It was a new one and a real nice one. It was real small and efficient. We used the one we had three times in different houses. So we tried to get a new one because of less maintenance. I liked it because of the well maintenance and it lasts long time. My interaction with the installers was fine. They sell quality product. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth the money. They were good. The price was fair. Their punctuality was very good and they were very professional. The unit has no electrical parts on it; it works off kinetic energy from water pressure so there are no electrical parts that can break.

I've had Kinetico out to work on this system several times since I purchased the house 2 years ago. The first time, they changed the filter, the second time they changed the filter, and that didn't make it work so they replaced the unit in December, 2009. When it quit in December 2010, I assumed it was the filter again and called them. They came out on January 5, 2011 and worked on it. They had to replace a membrane and the filter. I told them the unit was only 1 year old and should be under warranty. I was told that the warranty was from the time the unit was first purchased, not when it was replaced. Therefore, I had to pay $250.90. I also had a Kinetico water softener. The hose got plugged and the system overflowed through the ceiling and light fixtures and down the wall. When the Kinetico repairman came out, I asked him if it was likely to happen again as I had just paid over $3,000 in repairs to correct the damage. He said it might so I had him disconnect the system to prevent any further damage. This happened over a year ago. So, needless to say, I'm not very happy with my Kinetico experiences.

Service tech was punctual and very neat and efficient. He even showed me how to backflush and change the filters myself to change some money in the future. Kinetico has always been a pleasure to deal with.

Their services have been very satisfactory. The come out once a year to check our water softener. They do not remove iron.

Bought total Kinetico water system, Have had several problems over the years with broken parts. One time ended up with $400 dollars in water bills because of water running into drainage system. Now the tank bew apart flooding my basement, of course its 2 years past warranty. Sent a person out to service system. He had no oarts to service system but quoted anew system for $3000 with new warranty, or $400 for replaceing tank only 60 day warranty. Could not do the work for several days, in the meantime replaced the system with new brand one day later for $1,100. Now Kinetico is trying to bill me for a service charge when in fact they were not prepared to provide service? Kinetico rescinded the bill.

Terry Leak, whom I had worked with it when we installed the system in 2002, suggested purchasing a later model water filter instead of relocating the old unit. We were delighted with the whole experience. They showed up on time to make the move, installed the relocated softener and new filter, exchanged our old tank for one that allowed us to better utilize the space and cleaned up the area when they were done.

Upon investigation, it appears that when our irrigation system was winterized, the irrigation system technician may have shut of the water in such a way that the Kinetico system may have experience a pressure increase which caused som water to leak in the utility room. The technician did not have to actually do anything, but did advise recommendations for the future in terms of methods for shutting off the water to prevent this incident from happening again. He waived the 150 charge since he did not have to actually do anythign which was greatly appreciated.

The housing of the prefilter cracked, spraying water all over the utility room and soaking the basement carpet. I turned off the water to the house and called Kinetico the first thing in the morning. As I had to turn off the water to the entire house, they said they would send out a repair man on an "emergency" basis. We called several times to find out the status and were assured we would have our repair and water back on by the evening. Nobody showed up. We got no showers. We had to bucket water in to flush toilets. I called the next morning and they didn't seem to recall the previous day's phone calls. They assured me they would get to my repair today on an "emergency" basis. Service arrived in the evening, replaced the filter in 15 minutes and charged me $180 for "emergency" service 2 days after the break. At least we got showers the next morning.

Things went very well with them. All the people from the salesman to the technician were very professional and knowledgeable. I would certainly recommend them to anyone from whatever experience I have had with them so far.

After multiple visits to our home, we finally were able to complete the project. All told, we are very happy and definitely glad we have a Kinetico.

They have a great water softener. It took eight years before it needed servicing with filter changes.

They have great service, price and quality. Quality is their number one thing. They are really really good. Their water softeners don't run by electricity.

They have the best quality system. I will never have another system other than Kinetico. When I go in for replacement filters, the associates are very knowledgeable.

They are excellent and I was pleased with their service. They might be a little more expensive but it's well worth it. I would recommend them and use them again.

When we first contacted them, a sales representative came out and gave us a demonstration. The salesperson, Charles Gleaser, was extremely nice, knowledgeable and helpful. We were fairly sure that we wanted to use them for our water softening system, but because of the high cost, we pondered it for a couple of weeks. When we called back, he was no longer with the company. That was unfortunate, because he was very good. The second representative was also very nice, but appeared to be overworked. In any event, we purchased the system. There was a scheduling mix-up regarding the installation, however. We scheduled it for early morning and the installer did not show up. For some reason, he had our installation listed as an evening installation. That would not have worked because we were leaving town that afternoon for several days. The new sales rep, however, took good care of us and had an installer to our home within the hour. He even helped with the installation. We are very pleased with the system and feel that we made a good choice.

I have only had to service call them once in about twenty years. The product is very good but they are a little pricey. You get what you pay for in my opinion, though.

I assume that they do a good job, because my water is good, and everything works just fine.
