Description of Work: Called to have my Kinetico Quad water softening system serviced. A valve stuck inside the regulator unit and water softening system was running - constantly flushing. I had purchased the system 16 years ago from them and 2 other times had the unit serviced for the same problem. The valves seem to stick about every 5 years - no big deal just periodic servicing needed. I like the system and believe that although it was expensive at first, it has been good value considering how long it is lasting. Somehow when I made the service appointment the customer service representative must have flagged my order - when the service technician came to the house a salesman tagged along. Salesman could not test the softness of the hot water because I had turned the system to "Bypass" for 36 hours from the time I noticed the system running until the earliest service appointment I could get. Therefore, my hot water heater was full of hard water. Salesman tried to sell me a new $3,500 system because mine was "old." This was without even testing my water for softness! My system works fine - still softens water. He offered to come back at a later date to test the water. Repair crew serviced the valves in the regulator and replaced a broken part. The unit is working beautifully. Nice soft water when I shower! Next time I call for service leave the salesman at home! I asked for a service call, not a salesman, and I never expected to see one at my door. If the repairmen had found an unrepairable issue, then we can talk about a new unit. I don't appreciate the up-sell and your company's reputation is now diminished in my view. My system is working fine thanks to the repair for 10% of the cost of what Kinetico was trying to extract from my wallet for a new unit. Unfortunately, I have to use this company to service their proprietary unit. Next time I will make sure the salesman stays away...but I should not even have to mention it. My advice to Kinetico is to get the cart out from in front of the horse! Service then sales if necessary. A grade service and F grade for sales - trying to sell a system without even testing the water - despicable and unprofessional.

Description of Work: COuld not remove water filter from softner to change the filter. The service rep was very pleasant and checked the entire system after replacing the filter. Also did a water test to make sure everything ws ok.

Description of Work: I was having a problem with water from a well - filter was plugging often. Steve Glaze come out, and properly diagnosed problem as high concentration of manganese causing the filter to need changing bi-monthly. He explained a piece of equipment which would totally filter contaminents - an Eliminator. I felt this was well worth the price since it also removed other elements, such as iron. I ordered the equipment, and it was installed in two weeks. There were some initial problems, which were addressed the next day and corrected. I would highly recommend this company for any water treatment (I have had one of their water softeners since 2006 and am very satisfied.

Description of Work: Guess I shouldn't complain. Have had a Kinetico Water Softener for 25 years. Only had to have it serviced about four times. The last time I ran out of soft water I called and had to wait six days to get into their schedule for service, Had to take off a half day of work to meet their service man. He worked on it and thought it was fixed, After going through another week without soft water, I called and told them it wasn't fixed. Had to wait another six days to get scheduled in for service. Had to leave work again to meet the service man. He didn't even try to fix it this time. Said it would have to be taken in and be completely rebuilt or I could trade it in for a new one. I called the next day and they had a salesman out the evening I called. Took six days for service, same day for sales. I know Kinetico makes a good product, I had one, With all the metered softeners on the market, I don't know why anyone would pay two or three times as much for a Kinetico. I looked at several and went with an Aqua Systems. They didn't try to sell me. Gave me prices over the phone and if it need serviced, the top easily comes off so those of us that work during the day can take it in during the day or on Saturday for service. They had it installed three days after I called them. If you have plenty of money and don't have to work during the day, Kinetico may be for you, They sure weren't giving any breaks to their previous customers. My biggest beef is that they didn't fix it the first time, took six days to come back, and then didn't try to fix it.

Description of Work: Excellent service from start of the estimate to the end of the installation. The sales person arrived when promised and was completely thorough in his explanation of the equipment and pricing. The installation team arrived on time and left my home the way they found it after installing the system. They even wore booties without being asked. An extremely professional experience on all fronts.
