Indianapolis Contracting

I had to call them back three times to repair stuff they had not taken care of.

We had several roofers provide estimates, we had a roof replaced on a past home, and had a good sense of what to look for. Our roof has many valleys as well as a flat roof area. It is a roofers nightmare, and some roofers tried to give us estimates without going up on the roof. Junior went up, and was able to point out every challenge, and was able to explain exactly how they would handle our roof Indianapolis Contracting was on time with every appointment, and they returned every call I made right away. I really wanted to go with a local roofer, and Indianapolis Contracting did not let me down. The crew was on time, they kept things clean, they were careful not to wreck my gardens, and the final result was a fantastic looking roof. I will not hesitate in any way to use these fine folks again. Note: I called Indianapolis Contracting at a peak roofing time (hail damage), many others could not take schedule a visit for weeks, this company set an appointment within two days. Great!

Bobby was not a good representative for the company and no respect for our time. Missed appointments and gave no explanation or apology for not showing up. Estimate was for a grand total only and was not itemized. He made me late for work.

The project went well overall. There was a bit of a delay in starting due to high volume and they ran out of shingles at one point. However, the roof and gutters were professionally well installed. We have had a recent leak and the contractor has repaired the external cause of the leak. HOWEVER, they have not yet contacted us to repair the internal damage from the leak.

They were Johnny on the spot. Cleaned up and completed the job in 2 days. Great follow up! They did some extra work without adding on to the price. The price was exactly what they quoted me.

Tom Dahl gave an estimate & submitted it and a revision to my ins.co. I told Tom I have the $. I called Tom. I had never set a date or picked shingles. I called in Sept. Tom was fired and took all my info. They didn't know about me. I understand. They said another guy will help. I sent Allen my quote. He said it was too low. He needs to come out to see the house. He stood me up the 1st wk. 2X due to rain, 3X due to sickness, and 4X because it was Halloween. I offered the day before when I confirmed the time to reschedule. He said he had appts. in area and he'll meet me. I rushed home after work, and the message was left on the machine. I sent the owner an angry email. Nov 1, Allen wants to meet with the quote. If he didn't need me there, why did it take a month? It was higher than the one submitted prior and for less work done. The insurance co. said they hadn't heard anything. I sent another angry email to the owner. He left a message. I talked to Allen but still have no roof after 6M

Response to my call was fast and the estimator spent a lot of time going over what my options were and answering my questions. I felt he was experienced. We agreed on the scope of work and I authorized them to deal directly with my insurance company if there was any additional expense beyond the insurance estimate. I received a call the next day from the insurance company with the authorization to complete all the work. I never really saw any of the workmen who accomplished the job but, more importantly, they did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. The work was completed quickly and I am pleased with the results. The whole experience was very good. While I hope I won't be replacing any of this in the near future, I would definitely recommend Indianapolis Contracting.

Great experience, very hard workers. Glenn set up the installation and communicated VERY well with us. He stopped by with samples of shingle colors on several occasions and listened to our concerns. Glenn was almost part of the family, he came by so many times to make sure we were happy with the color, process, and even after installation. He even came by and ran a magnet through our lawn to make sure as many nails as possible were found. I couldn't have been happier with the whole process.

Very well. Came very quickly once contract was signed. Other roofers said they couldn't touch it for several months. Where there was rot, they took the time to show it all to me so I would know about the extra charges. They even took the time to re-slope a portion of the roof so the water would run off better- all at the same price to just replace the rotted wood. Gutters also went on quick and look great. Only negative is that it took a few calls to get some follow-up work on flashing/trim done, but it was done right in the end.

I called Indianapolis Contracting to inspect my roof for hail damage. Bobby (a salesman) came out and said that he did see hail damage. He told me that he wanted to meet the insurance adjuster when the adjuster came to look at our roof. I gave Bobby the adjuster's phone number, but when the adjuster came to our house he said that Bobby never called him. The adjuster did not find any hail damage, which was frustrating because Bobby stated that we definitely had hail damage. I feel that Bobby misled me. I then tried to call Bobby and his cell phone was disconnected. I then called Indianapolis Contracting and the person in charge that day did not know where Bobby was and did not have any other way of contacting him except for Bobby's cell, which was not working. The manager, Tom, then contacted me and said he personally would come to our house to verify we had no hail damage. We never heard back from or saw Tom. I was very disappointed in this company and recommend not using them.

I called Aug for and estimate. They took my information and said they would be in touch with me in 1 to 2 weeks. They finally got back to me the last week of September. They apologized and said one of the office staff who was no longer with them had not scheduled a follow call from an appraiser. They asked if I was still interested in an estimate and I told them yes. She said someone would be in contact to schedule and appointment. When they called two weeks later I had already chosen a roofer.

They have first rate service and do first rate work. The garage was a complicated connection to the house and they did both the garage and house in two days, start to finish, including removal of three layers of roofing.

They gave us a very professional estimate and gave us a follow up call.

When I finally got a hold of the owner, he did not even know what had transpired. Seems to me the owner should be on top of his company's business. On the 16th, I called the owner and said I wanted the dumpster which was dropped off on the 14 to be picked up and that I have contacted another company.

The first time I called, the rep was out in a few days (in August 2006). The rep only provided an estimate from the ground view and a contract I was to sign to allow them to negotiate with the insurance agent. Since I did not have any other estimates, I decided not to sign. I also wanted an inspection from the roof! To do this, he said another person would have to come back out. After a week, I called back to find out when that second person would come out. The first rep was no longer with the company (hmm). The company said they would send another person out. After another week or so, I called and found my call had been lost. I asked again but with little confidence. I went on to other estimates that were planned. In late Sept, I received a call from a new rep from the company, apologizing for loosing my contact. He eventually did come out to inspect the roof (I was curious on their and id of damage). The estimate was $7147 for a strip and recover. I did not use them.

They were very prompt and courteous. I haven't had the work done yet though, so I can't comment on price or quality.

His follow up is excellent and his approach to problem solving is great. We have had a few problems here and there with the roof he put on last year and he was always ready and willing to come out and fix them.

The company's representative Flint Tindall was extremely polite, helpful, informative, and never put pressure on us. The workers were on time, worked very hard and the work was completed in a day and a half. The cost was very reasonable. We received many bids. They cleaned up completely after each day, removing all fallen nails and debris. I was amazed. We were totally pleased. I can not compliment them enough. Thank you, Indpls. Contracting, and Thank you Angie's List for their recommendation!!!

They were prompt, professional, and very detailed. They left me with enough info to feel confident if I was to hire them. I got them off Angies list too.

Upon initial call, the receptionist indicated someone would contact me within 7-10 days to set up an appt. I followed up a week later, and I was told I should receive a call in the next 2 days. Two and a half weeks later, I still have not heard anything and have hired another company.

The salesman was prompt and polite at our first meeting for a quote. He reviewed the insurance work and calculated the project cost. Upon my decision to select Indpls Contracting, Paul visited to finalize the contract. He reviewed the insurance claim, all measurements and explained the entire construction process. He accepted the insurance company's assessment even though the cost of the project was to be somewhat higher. He also provided an upgrade for the shingles. I received one day's notification when work was to begin, though it was delayed a few days due to rain. Milo, the foreman, contacted me during that period, asking if I wanted work to proceed. Since I did not want further water damage, they respected my wishes and did not start work until the weather was clear. Work was completed within a day. The crew was efficient and cleaned the property thoroughly. Within a week, Paul visited to check the completed work. I was very pleased with the communication & work.

I called this company about a hail damage issue with my roof. They never returned my call.

This was our first home repair project utilizing contractors on Angie's List. Maybe it was bad timing- a few months after the hail storm- but we expected more and got less for the money. Thanks to Gary for saving the day and fixing our leak. He was very professional and courteous. Several rainfalls later and the leak is just a memory. We were disappointed with Tom- business is business- he should have kept his promises. We will not hire him to complete the repair on the drywall. I'm hoping we have better luck with someone else. Roof leak is repaired. Thanks for that. Gary did a great job. Give him a raise- he is a keeper. Tom- sorry, but our overall experience with you is not favorable.

I feel we were misled, and even worse made to look like fools. Our time was wasted, repair time was wasted, and our insurance company's time was wasted.

The company rep was very responsive when we pointed out the problems, and a week later sent out another crew to re-do all 9 windows, fix one gable, do the garage wall again, and do trim etc. This second crew was wonderful. We were mostly happy with the results and the fact that they seemed so willing to fix things. We pointed out that a freeze plate the original siders put on was very wavy and they said the gutters would flatten it (which they did not). In addition, the length of time the house waited for siding repairs caused grease to run from the new roof to the siding, which they never cleaned. The garage wall that was done 3 times is still wavy, with very thick caulk on one side.
