Champion Windows and Home Exteriors of Indianapolis

We had an issue. They tried to rectify it by giving us some other stuff. The stuff they gave us was nice. You have to make sure the salesman draws the entire plan with measurements before they install it and everyone finds it, it's not just verbal. The manager was really nice after we had our miscommunication with the doors. There are six sliding glass doors. I was very clear to the salesman that I wanted to make it so that there wasn't a lot of space in between the doors that did not have glass and our view was not blocked by more Aluminium and it was. He told me that there would, maybe, be seven inches of Aluminium between the doors and there was more like 20. It was nobody's fault but me and the salesman. The people who put it in were very professional and very good. The manager was very professional and very good. I wasn't here when they installed it. So, I wasn't able to tell them to stop. But the salesman told us several times, once on the phone and once in person that that much would not be blocked and that it would be glass.

The windows themselves seem fine. My office seems cooler now when the afternoon sun hits the front of the house. However, on the exterior, the white window frames kind of stand out too much from the rest of the house in terms of color. They told me that to get another color (almond for example) would have added several thousand to the bill. I did not get the same impression or information from Windows Universe when we got our quote from them on non-white windows. When it was time for the installer to leave, he rushed through explaining to me how to open up the double hung windows for cleaning. We previously had crank windows. They continued working outside on the installation of the front windows even when it was lightning and pouring outside. They arrived to measure the windows as promised They came out to replace a screen when promised but didn't have a replacement screen with them. When it came time to pay the remaining 50% after installation was completed, the installer was unable to take my credit card as payment so he had to find someone back in the office to take my payment information over the phone. Since their office closed at 4:00pm on a Friday, it took him a while to find someone.

It was fabulous. They estimated it to be $12,000 but I had a coupon and I asked for an additional discount so I ended up paying $6500. I've had their products before (doors) so I think it's very good products. The best part was the installer and his son that came out, I have problems with my wall in my house and they were able to work around that. They did all the work in one day, they cleaned everything up, it was spotless, there was no mess!

They did good work. They were on time. They did the work they said. There was no problem. My interaction with them was fine. The salesman that I talked to was very polite. The workers were great to work with. The work was just fine.

Waited almost 4 months to start and had trouble getting sales person to return my calls with status. Very pleased with finished sunroom. Had missed checking skirting option on contract, but Champion provided without added cost. Had no issues with construction or finished room.

The crew did a excellent and professional job of building the room to our specifications. This included building decking and flooring to match existing floors and creating two walls of full glass windows that intersected with two existing brick walls. They also merged the four season's roof with the existing roof lines. The crew was experienced and took pride in building a quality product. We would highly recommend Champion windows.

I was told it would take 6-8 weeks for the window to be installed. At the 8 week point I called Champion to find out when it would be installed. The girl answering the phone was rude and kept insisting that they had called me to set up a day to install it and that I didn't return the call. That is not true because we have an answering machine they could have left a message on and there was never a message. I told her this but she insisted they had called. Then she told me it would be another week or two before they could install our door because they had to be out in our area. I called the salesman who sold us the door and he took care of it and our door was installed the following week. The man who installed our door was very nice and did a very good job. A week after it was installed I noticed the door didn't close tightly at the top. I called Champion and they sent him back out in a few days. The guy said the door was warped and we may have to wait 6-8 weeks for the new one to be installed. I gave an A rating for professionalism. The salesman and the installer were professional, the girl answering the phone get's an F.

They were very professional. They measured each window very carefully. When they windows were delivered, each window went into its own spot. Even though the windows were the same size, they custom-made them to the measurement of the window. They did an excellent job. They cleaned up after themselves beautifully. There were two guys who installed the windows. One worked outside and one worked inside. The windows were wonderful. They stood up the test of time. I never had any problems with any of them. They even installed one of those garden windows in the kitchen. They did a great job. They were cheaper than anybody else at that time.

There was a factor of three differences between the low and the high. Champion was the lowest-priced. We felt that the other company was just a bit more robust and little higher quality as well as with the reputation. They were okay. The rep was okay.

This was a very good experience from beginning to end. Starting with Ron the salesman, every person involved with the entire process was awesome. We are completely pleased with our new windows. The installers were extremely professional. They arrived on time, explained exactly how they would proceed and then set to work. Some of the windows needed some additional repair on the outside which they did beautifully. They were neat, efficient and quick. When they finished we were shown how the windows operate. They made no mess at all and you could definitely tell they had a lot of experience at installing these windows. We love our new windows! It is amazing how much quieter it is in our home.

I called in July of 2014 to inquire if everything was in. I was told it was and it was in scheduling. I called again in August and was told I would have to be patient. I reminded them the windows had been ordered in 2013 and it had been over a year. September was met with the same response. In October I placed a call to Tim Lyons, the area manager and he didn't bother returning my call. I wrote the main office in Cincinnati and never received a response. Finally, I wrote Champion in Indianapolis and threatened to take them to small claims court if they did not give me a date to install all the items I had paid for. They came today and installed the hardware but no windows!!!! I was told the factory is behind on orders. It has been 16 months and they still have not replaced my windows. I would not recommend this company for any reason.

I paid in full for all 12 windows. Come approximately 2-3 weeks after the windows were installed, I called them again July 17th, regarding a crack in 1 of the 12 windows that they had put in. They claimed on that phone call that they had to order a new part from the factory, and one other time I talked to them they stated that the part had been ordered, but since it was the summer and their busy season, I felt like I was lowest on their priority list. Nothing has happened since those dates, and I called today 10/17/14, which is over 3 months, and still no appointment has been scheduled. This seems extremely bizarre to me, as it is only one window that needs to be fixed. This is poor service on their behalf, and I would never recommend Champion Windows Sun Rooms and Home Exteriors to anyone who needs new windows. The work itself and the windows I purchased went smoothly, but their response to my inquiry regarding a cracked as been very poor at best.

If anything goes wrong with the sun room, they come out fix it for us. We are very pleased with them. They have done a great job and I have no complaints with them. Tracey remembers me and is very efficient.

The patio door was installed fine and there were no problems. The quality of the door is outstanding. Their professionalism and service was outstanding.

My experience was excellent. I was impressed with their professionalism of the salesmen and the installation crew. I had to change my order mid stream and that went smoothly. They are little more expensive than other companies but I believe their product and guarantee are better.

The actual construction was good with the porch. The new plant window had to get delayed. The workmanship was good. We have trouble getting them to come back and address some issues we had. I had to make several calls to get that to happen and their prices were reasonable.

The roof and the windows were done fine. They were punctual and professional. They accidentally damaged a shed but they did pay for the replacement. I would like them to come and finish the front door. The peep hole was not functioning properly and they have not yet to repair the work yet. We have called several times but they have not informed of us where we are in the scheduled.

They are great company. I prefer them over the other top companies in the area. I have been very happy with them. The employees are good and the quality of the windows is good. They custom make everything for you in their store. The workmanship is excellent. They are also very flexible with my busy schedule and very accommodating.

From the beginning everything was great. The respresentative took his time and show me how everything work. I love that, they was on time when the installer said that he would be here , he was here.

We had issues with our old garden window leaking. It was a Bee Window and they refused to take any responsibility for it, but that's another review. I called Champion, they sent out an estimator within 5 working days. She gave us an estimate, we gave her a down payment and within five weeks we had a new window. It looks great, works great and DOSEN'T LEAK! I would highly reccommend them for any window replacement. STAY AWAY FROM BEE!!!!!

They came out and talk to use about putting new windows in but we didn’t have any windows done with them. They did a price quote. They were very expensive. The presentation was very thorough, I didn’t feel there was any pressure to go with them, we had a few quotes from other people so once we knew that, we knew he was kind of way out of the ball part price.

The warranty for Champion Windows and Sun Rooms is WORTHLESS. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY. The majority of the work was done on schedule. However, additional material had to be procured, so the job was left unfinished for another month until the material came in. I wouldn't have minded the month wait, but no one at Champion would give me even a general idea of how long it would take to get the additional material. The construction itself wen pretty well, although the Champion equipment did cut my invisible fencing. They wound it up in a ball, and I did not find out what happened until I found out (from the Dog Watch representative) why the fence mechanism started beeping continuously. The real problem started when I returned from a short trip on April 5, 2014. There was a 3' x 3' puddle of standing water in a corner of the sun room. It had rained quite a bit the week before, so there was clearly a leak somewhere. I paid over $20,000 for the sun room because the construction came with a lifetime warranty on parts and a 2-year warranty on labor. I thought Champion would honor the warranty and fix the leak. I was wrong. I called Champion on April 7th and was told that my request was being sent to the scheduling person, who would schedule someone to come out to my house and inspect the sun room. No one called. I called again a week later (April 14, 2014) and was told the scheduling person was away from her desk but that the receptionist would leave her a note to call. Again, no call. I called back the next day and explained that I really needed to get onto the schedule, even if the actual inspection could not take place for a few weeks. This time the receptionist explained the real situation. She said, ?Ma?am, we service over 22,000 customers in Central Indiana and do not have time to return your call. Our scheduler is also a manager, so scheduling is not her only responsibility. Maybe YOUR office has a person whose job is just to sit around all day and schedule appointments, but we don?t.? I asked her if I could find someone else to fix the leak and bill Champion for the service. She put me on hold, then returned and told me that finding another contractor would void my warranty. Needless to say, no one ever called me back to schedule the inspection. I called Champion again today, April 28, 2014. After a brief hold, the same receptionist explained that my service call was ?in scheduling.? When I asked approximately how long it would take for someone to schedule it, she said, ?It will be scheduled when the scheduler has time to schedule it.? In my opinion, the entire warranty program at Champion is worse than incompetent. It is fraudulent.

At the time of purchase and installation, everything was great. We had to have the guy come back out and clean up the caulk job and trim work on the patio door, and after that all was well. So, between now and roughly October of 2007, we have had all window sashes replaced due to seal failure and some sashes have been replaced twice. Each repair was done after a six-week wait to have the replacement made, but that's the way it goes in the manufacturing side of things.. After arguing that trip charges were ridiculous for warranty work, as I recall most if not all of these were waived. It was quite a hassle having to arrange for this many replacements, but again, things can happen when humans and machines meet in a factory setting. I get that. OK, fast forward to this week. The large picture window in my kitchen now has seal failure. I haven't checked the patio door, and if it doesn't have seal failure it can only be a matter of time. The product didn't make it a full eight years, which is not good. So, I once again contact the local branch and after soliciting a response to my email (nobody responded), I was told that no service work is done after 5PM, and "never on Saturday." That isn't convenient. At all. In addition, the replacement for the failed window won't even be ordered until I cough up a $75 trip charge, and apparently that isn't negotiable any longer. If I'm willing to send a check in that amount they'll order the window. Oh, they won't cash it until the window is installed. What kind of backward logic is that? I'm not making this up, and simply want to invoke the warranty that the office admin so adeptly copies and pastes into her replies to me. No such thing as a manager contacting a customer with an issue, I guess. So, I suppose I'll be held hostage until I send this check which I guess I'll do. Then I'll wait at least six weeks for the window to be ready, and then I'll get a call to set up repair under warranty at a time convenient to Champion. Not to me, but to Champion. H***, I'm just a customer, right? Once I check the patio door, I'm sure the same sequence will take place and I'm not looking forward to it. I'll update this review once the repair has been made. I may or may not be satisfied, but I'll be fair. So far, I'm very displeased with the way this is going, and so far I'm the only one who really seems to care. We'll see how it goes.

They were very quick for me and very helpful. They were able to show me a whole bunch of different options for the window. The guys who came and installed it were very quick. They cleaned up everything nicely and even gave me extra tips for around the house. Overall, I thought they did a good job. Their windows are really good products, so that was what I really liked. They are kind of expensive.

Very helpful courteous and punctual. Fulfilled all our wishes. Cleaned up after themselves and even cleaned the windows that they installed!
