This time they only used shop vacs and possibly a brush. We didn't use the air conditioner while working on the rental house to get it ready to sell except occasionally and then had it turned off for three weeks while the wood floors were being sanded and refinished. When we turned it back on, all sorts of crap blew out of the vents and covered the floors and window sills. When I called their office, the lady said well they must have loosened things and that was what was blowing out. I told her we would not recommend them to anyone else and would never use them again. We are hiring another contractor to clean the vents properly.
Description of Work: We hired them to clean the furnace air ducts in a rental house we own. Twelve or so years ago we hired them and they cleaned the ducts using a large outdoor machine and a big suction tube that was put down each duct. It did an excellent job.

They patiently answered all our questions about different systems and, once we made a decision, they were there the next day to install. Friendly, showed up right when they said they would, continued to answer all our questions, and cleaned up before they left. It was a pleasure doing business with them.
Description of Work: Love these guys and have used them for furnace maintenance for years. Just recently, we also hired them to install a whole new heating and cooling system.

Last month our A/C decided to die in the middle of a July heatwave. All Seasons was recommended by a few family members so we decided to give them a shot. We had some previous HVAC work done through our home warranty on both our A/C and our furnace that ranged from good service to horrible service. I was less than thrilled to go through more HVAC issues before we even hit the two year anniversary of being in our home. I gave All Seasons a call and they sent out a technician to diagnose our issue. Almost right away the technician noticed the same symptom (the A/C kept tripping the breaker) that I had and after looking at the compressor found that the it was shorting to ground. They gave us a rough estimate for repair and for replacement on the spot which my wife and I discussed later that night. Our home was previously a rental before we purchased it and we've found out that a lot of the home appliances were not properly maintained. Knowing that we've already had work done on the A/C and that the previous owners didn't take great care of the appliances, we decided to replace the unit. Also. the repair would only give us a one year warranty compared to the 10 year warranty of the new unit that covered both the condenser coils and the outside A/C unit. Once we decided on the replacement, they sent someone out to evaluate the job and give us a final quote. Our particular installation was going to be a little more difficult because of the type of furnace we have. Our furnace sits on top of the condenser coils so the furnace also had to be removed which tacked on additional labor. With all the previous furnace and A/C work we had done, I knew the additional time we were quoted was a fair estimate. On the day of installation, they were prompt and started on time. During the installation, they also enlarged our duct work that directs the airflow from the A/C and furnace to our upstairs level. Our previous A/C unit had a really hard time keeping the upstairs cool and there was a noticeable air temperature difference when walking up the stairs. Between the larger duct work and the new unit, our upstairs stays very cool and there is no noticeable change in temperature when we walk upstairs. As an added bonus, they are a Lennox dealer and now both our furnace and A/C are Lennox brand units. It will be nice to establish a relationship with a local HVAC company that can service both units. I rated the "Price" column as a B as I feel like the price was fair and comparable to other companies in town. With all things said and done, I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.
Description of Work: They diagnosed that our A/C was shorting to ground and quoted us a cost for repair or replacement. We decided, in our case, it was smarter to replace the unit. They came out and put a new A/C unit outside and replace our coils and coolant system to match the new coolant for our new, more efficient system.

Our air compressor on our heat pump stopped functioning on a 100F day. Needless to say we discovered this after hours. The choice was repair or a hotel room with all our animals. I called All Seasons because my friends have had good experiences with them. The after hours line was upfront about costs--$120 per hour. Within about 20 minutes of leaving a message, Greg, our technician, called us about the problem. He was in Bedford at the time. He made it to our house in about an hour. Once at our house, he immediately checked the electrostatic filter to see if it were clean. It was. I know little about HVAC, but I do know that this is one of the first things he should have checked, and he did. He then checked our compressor and found it wasn't receiving power, so he checked our thermostat to see if it were functioning. It was. Then he opened up the compressor. About 20 minutes later, we had cool air. He explained that we had either a bad low ambient control or a bad timer, so he wired around both. He explained what each did, and it's apparent to us that we'll need to get someone out to check them. However, he said that he didn't want to get into either at this point. Doing what he did gets us air conditioning. The rest of the work can be scheduled when we're not paying a premium rate for labor. Greg mentioned what other HVAC people have said: we'd see a lot of energy savings on a new system. Ours is 20 years old. At the same time, it's cheaper to repair than replace. We appreciated that Greg was very prompt, very professional, and that he got our old system working again. We also appreciate that he was mindful of cost, and that he explained that he'd essentially jury-rigged a fix, and implied that we probably would want someone to look at the system more in-depth. We would definitely recommend this company.
Description of Work: Rewired around the low ambient switch and timer so that our air conditioner would work. This was an emergency after hours call.

I purchased ahome in 2008 that was less than 1 year old. The heating and air system was complete. However, I was a sucker and I believed All seasons when they called and said that I needed a preventitive maintenance check in order to keep my warranty. So, they sent some service guy that was kind but obviosly inexperienced. He spent 20 minutes looking over my exchanger and compressor. He finsihed up and left. Well.....a week later it got cold enough to need heat and the system just did not work. They sent someone out a service guy and he found loose wires in the exchanger right where I saw this service guy put his hands when he was servicing my heating unit. He hooked up the wires and left. Well.....guess what; still no heat and then I got a bill for his service including a trip charge for being 16 miles from Monroe County line even though we are 4 miles from the Monroe County line. Either way, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked them to fix my heating system again. They came and said my heat strips were bad. Well................they replaced my heat strips and guess what.....you guessed it. They billed me again for the service and for being 16 miles outside the county line and I had minumal heat. By this time it was spring time and we didnt need the heat. Still to this day my heating system does not work. It has costs me a substantial amount of money to fix what they broke.
Description of Work: I purchased a home in 2008 from a couple in a middle of a divorce, so the house was 3/4 of the way finished. Either way the heating and air system was complete and I finished the contruction of the house (basement). Well, I was a sucker and I believed All Seasons when they called and said I needed to get my heat pump serviced in order to keep my warrenty. So, they sent some guy to my house that seemed really inexperienced for the $75.00 service call. He came and spent 20 minutes blowing out my exchanger with compressed air and then left. Needless to say the bill ended up being slightly more than 75.00. I swallowed it and didnt say a word.

Was very pleased with the service and price that they will definitely get our business again.
Description of Work: All Seasons inspected and found out that our heat exchanger was under warranty after having another company inspect it before them. They then and gave us an estimate and I scheduled an appointment. It actually only took half the time than quoted. The company that inspected it before All Seasons didn't bother to check if the part was under warranty. They were just interested in selling us a new furnace instead of replacing the warrantied part.

Homeowner requested some special specifications for humidity control. Contractor said that the equipment would meet the requirements. First thing when the homeowner read the operating manual was that the equipment could not control humidity as said. Contractor did not know the equipment, was rude (even came with his retired father!), did not solve the problem. Equipment failed a couple times over the year (probably the brand, not the contractor). Overall, in addition to installing something that was not performing as requested, they are not nice people.

I had All Seasons install a house humidifier system in December 2009. They installed the system but I got called away for work for a few months so we never ended up turning it on last winter. I turned it on for the first time a few weeks ago (Nov 2010) and woke up the next morning with water running down my 2nd floor bathroom and leaking onto the first floor through the ceiling. The hummidifier was installed on my air handler which is in my attic. After crawling up into the attic, I found that they installed the drain of the hummidifier to the septic exhaust with no trap in my attic instead of the air handler drain. So, for the last year everytime I turned on my heater/AC I blew septic gas through my house since they failed to install a trap which is against code. This explained why I thought I was having septic problems when in fact they directly hooked my septic sytsem to my air handler. This is against plumbing code and we were lucking this didnt make my family sick. The leak came from running water through pipes that were never intended to have water running through them. All Seasons failed to check them before connecting into them. All Seasons at first said they would fix all the damage. Instead, they quickly changed the humidifier drain from the septic exhaust to the air handler drain as I originally asked them to and then left. Now my humidifier is draining correctly but they have backed out of fixing the damage they caused. I've had to get my homeowners insurance to go after them instead to get money for repairs. These people not only damaged my house but endangered the health of my family for over a year. The manager of the company wouldn't even talk to me directly but would only filter messages through his secretary changing his story often. For a company that is supposed to be one of the bigger AC companies in Bloomington, they do terrible work and don't stand by their warranty. I would recommend to anyone out there to never use All Seasons. I hired them to do some heating repair at the same time I paid them to do this work which they failed miserably at as well (see my other December 2009 review). When you hire a big company you think you are getting some security because they should stand by their work and know what there doing so you don't mind paying a bit extra. In this case, they not only installed my system against plumbing code but also failed to honor my warranty and fix the damage they caused.

I have a pretty standard dual stage heater (heat pump and electric heater) that stopped working in the coldest week in December. All seasons came out to fix the heater pretty quick which was great. After working for an hour two on it they reported that it was fixed and left. I noticed my house wasnt getting any warmer and realized that no heat was coming out and that the house was still freezing. I spent a very cold night at the house before they came out the next day and said I had a bad control board that would need to be replaced. This took about a day for the part to come in so my house was still freezing. They came back out and replaced the part (at about $300 for the part), said it was fixed and left. Again I noticed my house was freezing and there was no heat. I called them again to come out but by now it was close to Xmas and they didnt have time by the holiday to make it back out. I ended up going about 2.5 weeks without heat with these guys before they came out again. After they came out for the third time, they figured out I had a bad relay (cost of part about $5) that needed to be replaced. This fixed the heater and finally my ice house thawed out. Overall all, they charged me for parts I didnt need and a bunch of extra labor for their failure to diagnose my system (they charged me for all the extra service trips even though they screwed up). After much fighting, I still got stuck paying for them to replace parts that were never bad in the first place. I also had them install a hummidifier system in my house when I originally asked them to fix the heater. I will write about that terrible fiasco in another review. Overall, I will never use them again. Their slow service and failure to standby their work left my wife and I with a 10 month old baby freezing in a house for 2.5 weeks all because of a simple $5 part that they failed to identify.

We called them in the beginning of the week and they came out on a Thursday. They said that they did a whole bunch of things including adding freon. They also said that the checked out the entire system. I paid them with a check. The following Saturday (less than 48 hours since they had been out) the air conditioner quit working. They originally said they warrantied their service for 30 days. When I called them to come back out the guy over the phone said that they problem had nothing to do with their work and said that he would charge the regular fee plus an overtime fee of time and a half. I objected to that and asked for a manager. The manager refused to talk to me. The guy called me back and said that he talked to the manager and the manger said they would come out but that I would have to pay the difference for overtime. I objected to that as well, they warrantied the work and less than 48 hours after doing the work it failed. At that point, it wasn't about the $50.00 charge, I had lost complete trust in them. If they do not guarantee their work, I don't want to use them. I ended up having to have a second company come out to fix it. They were able to fix it right away. The person that we have dealt with has been completely rude and belligerent. They handled this situation unprofessionally. I would not recommend them.
