Description of Work: The window is on order and they will install it when it comes in. I paid 1/2 down and do not expect any problems. Office girl is polite, knowledgeable and gives accurate quotes. Service man was polite and well mannered. I asked who does the installation and he answered that he would.

Description of Work: We sold our home and during the buyer's home inspection two windows were highlighted needing replacement. We replaced the glass in both windows. Shirk's was very professional and prices were reasonable and everything was completed before closing.

+ -1 moreBill performed the above noted work well on my personal house, which was for sale. The problem started with one loose end of a broken spring mechanism of another window, which caused the window not to slide & lock properly. Bill promised that he would see if he could rig up something since no replacement parts were available on these 18 year old windows. He never responded. I called at least 4 times in a polite fashion where Phil or a lady would answer and nicely say that they would tell Bill. Still no response; no call, e-mail, fax, or letter stating I am trying, I can't help but I recommend XYZ company, etc. I made it clear I was planning on paying more for this window. The sad thing is I have hired Bill a lot over the years when I was in property management and home contracting. He always did the best he could and communicated. I thought maybe it was me, but I received a Christmas card with a coupon from them. So I called a final time with still no response.
Description of Work: Changed out an insulated glass unit of an double hung window that had been cracked, supplied 4 missing screens for this house, and the labor to do this work.

THEY WERE ACCOMMODATING AND UNDERSTOOD MY SITUATION. THEY GAVE ME A DAY TO COME PICK UP THE SCREEN AND WERE VERY POLITE TO CALL AND LET ME KNOW WHEN THE TIME NEEDED TO BE ALTERED. THE GENTLEMAN WHO CAME FOR THE SCREEN DOOR PUT ON SHOE PROTECTORS BEFORE ENTERING MY HOME. I HAVE NEVER HAD THAT HAPPEN IN ALL MY YEARS AS A HOUSEWIFE. I COULDN'T GET OVER IT. THEY TOOK THE DOOR AND RETURNED IT WITH NEW SCREEN AND REPLACED IT IN THE SLIDING RUNNER OR WHATEVER ITS CALLED. (IT IS A SLIDING DOOR). THEY HAD GIVEN ME AN ESTIMATE OF 100 DOLLARS, BUT THE FINAL PRICE WAS LESS. IT WAS A VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE AND AS A RECENT WIDOW I APPRECIATED THAT COMPETENCE.
