Our experience with them was fantastic. They were very professional, did the work when they said they would. They came back when we were not happy with one thing and re-did it. He was very informative, wasn?t pushy and told us what he though. We got back to him a couple weeks later and he did not accept any money upfront, not until the job was done. We recommended him to our nephew.
Description of Work: We used Perma-Seal Basement Systems in September or October and he repaired the cracks in the basement wall and repaired the underground drain system, and they also put in the gutter guards.

They have done a real good job. We had an excellent representative from there. We had problems with the basement. A contractor had started the job and couldn?t continue. The representative was able to come up with another contractor who could work with him and solve the problem for us. We are happy with them.

The price above reflects a $25 Angies list discount. We appreciated the lifetime warranty against seepage through the treated areas. They were quick, efficient, and professional. It went very smoothly.
Description of Work: Perma-Seal completed an "interior crack injection process" on a vertical crack in our foundation that we thought was leaking water after heavy rains. The crack was about 4 ft long.

I wanted the extension because I didn?t want the water pumped out right next to my house. I was anticipating that the job would cost me a couple of hundred dollars. As I didn?t want to do the job myself, I had called them. I didn?t hire them. I had called them to give me an estimate on what I had perceived as a very small job. They came out within a couple of days after I had called them. They were expeditious in reporting to the job. The guy came out and looked at the systems that I had for my sump pump. He was polite, friendly and cordial. He gave me a quote of $8000. He evidently misunderstood my requirements. He was looking at selling a big job to me. I refused to accept the quote. He understood that. He told me that he would, however, charge me for the estimate call. I was told that it was a free estimate. So, he called his office. However, they maintained that they had told me over the phone that it was a free estimate only if I refused to get the job done by them. I guess it was a matter of semantics and the manner in which they had expressed it. Apparently, the estimate would be deducted from my bill, were I to go ahead and have the work done. In case, I decided not to get the job done, then they would charge me for the estimate call. I hadn?t understood this part of the conversation. They had explained it to me over the phone earlier. All I heard was that the estimate call was going to be free. Finally, I refused to pay for the call. The guy left and he never called me back. All I can say is that they were quoting a price for the work that I had no intention of getting done. There was no way I would have accepted the quote. They may have been the world?s greatest plumber, but they certainly weren?t the best communicators of the work that needed done.
Description of Work: I got a quote from Perma Seal Basement Systems, a couple of months ago. I wanted an extension put on my discharge pipe from my sump pump, which pumped water into my backyard.

Response from Perma-Seal Basement Systems
I am sorry the client misunderstood. We provide FREE estimates to any homeowner with a problem in our field. We only charge an inspection fee for prospective buyers (as apparently this case was) and even then the inspection fee is credited towards any future work done. We don't "look to sell anyone a big job" but will give an honest and frank assessment of a foundation's condition and an estimate of needed repairs - especially when someone is considering purchasing a home.

My husband dealt more with them than I did. As far as I know, our experience with them was very good. We interacted with Joe, who was very professional and very responsive. He was extremely helpful. We were very happy with them and we?ll definitely use them again.
Description of Work: My husband and I used Perma-Seal Basement Systems, a few months ago. We had some cracks in our basement. They filled the cracks.
The new system worked so well, the foot of water was gone before the installer packed up & left. The company helped me out with getting credit approval as well. The second day I did expect the installer earlier, but he did some prep work off site so came a little later than expected but it was not a problem. They also provided an estimate for complete waterproofing system for future consideration.
Description of Work: Unknowingly, my sump pump had not worked for the last rains & the crawl space had a lot of water. Perma-seal came out on time, investigated & proposed a solution with costs, to do immediate fix. They installed a new, high quality sump pump & a backup battery-operated pump, & new pipelines as needed. He provided instruction on pump use.

It went pretty good. We haven't paid the final bill yet. There are a few outstanding issues. They didn't clean up as well as they were supposed to. They dug six feet down outside and put in drain tile. They had to uproot some trees. We're still waiting for them to finalize and finish up. Everything was warranted. The workers were great and worked very hard. The salesman was lacking a little bit. We shopped around and the price was reasonable. We think the quality of work was good. We'll know when we have the next rainstorm. They were punctual and came on time. We might use them again.

They came when expected and worked very quickly and professionally. It started raining and the power went out in the latter stages of the work, but they were able to finish that day. It was very muddy and dirty in the basement, which is to be expected, but they were able to keep the rest of the house clean. We've been very happy since this was completed in April and we've had a very rainy Spring. It's been great being able to use and enjoy our basement even when it's raining outside for days on end.

We did not use them because they did not use the odor bonder. They were responsive and even went through a whole presentation and showed me pictures. We looked at companies who wanted to put concrete and other heavy materials in our basement. For this company, they could do the work at a lot less cost. We asked a lot of people about this company and everyone had good things to say about the company and their quality of work. We are happy with their work, and feel their price was fair for 8 hours of work that they put into it. We will use them again if necessary in the future.

Crew worked hard! Removed all jackhammerd concrete by hand in buckets, laid gravel, drainage pipe & new concrete over trough which was at least 12 inches deep - dug & removed by hand, as well. The work required a plumber as, a bathroom was disturbed & laundry tubs had to be disconnected as well as reconnected - part of the job, all explained in advance. The original presentation by the company was very detailed w/many pictures to assist my understanding of what was involved. A drawing to scale also accompanied the proposal. Process took about 2 hrs - area to be repaired was inspected carefully both inside & outside my home (half my basement's perimeter).
Description of Work: Waterproof system installed in the basement of my home following unexpected sewer problem. Line was replaced - much backhoeing - landscaping & concrete work followed the plumbing - drainage tlles compromised around exterior foundation - seepage problem developed in basement. Perma Seal addressed the seepage w/their system & guaranteed the work for as long as I own the home, at least. House was built in 1940.

Very well. They came out to inspect the property on time and promptly submitted the estimate. No problems scheduling then rescheduling the appointment. The crew arrived on time, performed the work very well, cleaned up after themselves and explained in detail what they did and how long we should wait before painting the walls, replacing drywall, removing the injection nipples from the walls, etc. So far the work seems sound, no leaks.

The project went well. I liked Perma Seal's approach the best and they explained what the issues where and other things to watch for (with out an up sale approach, etc). They understood I was shopping the quote and did not push. I went with them and they were ontime and very professional. They dug out the area around the crack and filled it back in went complete. We had a few hard rains post the work and there were no issues.
Description of Work: We had leaking through a beam pocket into our basement. During a hard rain, water would have a little flow through cracks in the wall. Perma Seal was one of three companies we called. They sealed the crack from the exterior and guarnteed the work.

The representative came to my house on time, and was very knowledgeable and personable. He had a slick, glossy presentation via computer of how water problems occur, and answered my questions. I explained the leaking occurred only after rainfall and had started suddenly. He briefly inspected the problem area and recommended that the entire basement be treated, not just the one wall where water had seeped in. SInce I had Perma-Seal work on another basement area about fifteen years ago, I had confidence in the opinion of its representative, and was resigned to spending a fair amount of money. The estimate was about $5,900 and only marginally less to treat one wall alone. I was surprised but knew this was a costly endeavor. However, I asked for time to think about it and went back on the list. I saw excellent reviews for Mike of RIte-Way Injection Systems in suburban Chicago. To get a second opinion, I called Mike and he came out promptly. He inspected the basement carefully and then asked to see the exterior of my home. I had explained to him as well that this was a new problem and it only occurred after the rain and that in many years there had been no seepage. Bingo! Mike looked in the narrow space between the houses and saw a crushed horizontal downspout of my neighbor's. He recommended having the neighbor repair the downspout before I spent a lot of money. If the seepage resumed, then I might need a lot more work. My neighbor put in a new downspout this week. It has rained twice and I have no seepage in the basement. I am very grateful to Mike and Rite-Way and they have my business in the future. I was disappointed that the Perma-Seal representative did not think more carefully about what might have caused the seepage in these circumstances. While he was a nice guy and not pushy, it seemed that selling the product rather than solving my problem was Perma-Seal's priority.
